Reminds me of some South Florida winter mornings while I was out before dawn today. Only things missing were the palm trees and ocean breeze.
High 60s tomorrow. Maybe I'll go golfing or fishing before settling in for some football (shameless plug--tune in for wildcard picks tomorrow).
I have to laugh at the media babbleheads lamenting the balmy weather. It's not as if we haven't had mild winters before. But they fail to note how people are saving money on heating costs and with oil down to $56 a barrel, shouldn't this be considered good news?
Just five or six months ago, gas prices were a national calamity and top of the hour news day after day; hysteria had so gripped the nation we were treated to tales of hapless people choosing between gas or food. Now it's tales of woe from owners of ski resorts.
All I know is there are 10 more weeks of winter left. Before long, cold weather will return and we'll get back to the usual litany of stories about high heating costs and bums sleeping on subway grates. Snow will soon be forecast and the television crews will rush out to the nearest Home Depot to report on shortages of shovels and rock salt. In other words, forget what they're telling you today. Tomorrow it will be something else.
