Here we have Sen Olympia Snowe from her appearance this morning on Fox and Friends in which she:
A) Admits the Republicans offered amendments
B) The Democrats ignored all of them
C) She has gotten more phone calls and visits from the President then our military commander in Afghanistan has.
So while the White House is portraying Obamas actions in regards to the troop requests in Afghanistan as deliberative, at the same time he is pushing his health care agenda along at break neck speed. While the Democrats continually spread the lie that the Republicans don't have any suggestions or plans, in reality what they mean is that the Republicans don't have any plans that they are willing to listen to or entertain.
When informed of the unscientific poll a newspaper in her home state of Maine did asking if the folks back home agreed with her voting with the Dems, and that the results indicated 80% opposed she brushed it aside by saying the constituents were confused because of all the ads that had been run.
In this interview she also says she wouldn't support any bill that includes the public option. Well guess what honey? About thirty minutes after that interview the Democrats did exactly that. They introduced an amendment for a public option.
I don't know which it is. She is either blissfully unaware that the Democrats are using her like a pooper scooper at a doggy park, or based on her track record, she just doesn't have the nerve to switch parties officially. Hopefully the good citizens of Maine will send her to a government run nursing home, which it will be if this health care legislation becomes a reality, the next time she up for election.
And take Susan Collins with her.
