The shame of it all is the maximum penalty is life in prison, not execution. Who knows, he may wind up with a wrist slap if he's tried
in Detroit. It can't be long until the media and ACLU start portraying him as a poor, troubled youth. Seems the whitewashing has already begun. Nowhere in the story are the words "Muslim" or "Al Qaeda" even mentioned.
A federal grand jury in Detroit indicted Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab today in the Christmas Day terrorist attack on a Detroit-bound airliner.
Abdulmutallab was charged with six counts: attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, attempted murder within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States, willful attempt to destroy and wreck an aircraft within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States, willfully placing a destructive device on an aircraft and two counts possession of a destructive device in furtherance of a crime of violence.
Fortunately for Abdulmutallab he won't be charged with a seventh count of being uninsured under ObamaCare since the annexation of the health industry is not yet complete.
The attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction charge is punishable by up to life in prison.
Abdulmutallab, 23, a Nigerian national, is in custody at a federal prison in Milan, charged in a federal criminal complaint with trying to detonate a bomb hidden in his underwear on Flight 253, which was bound from Amsterdam to Detroit.
He'll probably walk a free man by the time he reaches his 40s. Who knows, he'll probably be sent to Yemen after he's released.
