The mutilated Afghan girl whose nose was cut off by her monstrous Taliban husband has been restored to her former beauty with the help of a California surgeon. (The before-and-after results are pictured here.)
The 18-year-old known only as Aisha, because her last name has not been revealed for security reasons, appeared this week for the first time with her new prosthetic nose at an LA benefit for the Gross Burn Foundation, which carried out the reconstructive surgery over several months.
The story of how Aisha was forced to marry a Taliban fighter at 12 -- and how he mutilated her after she fled from him -- became known worldwide after her haunting photo appeared on the cover of Time magazine in August.
Reached for comment, a NOW spokeswoman declared "She's a whore."
