Unexpected! U.S. Unemployment Rises to 9%

How's that hope and change working out? Uh, actually, it's not.
Nonfarm payrolls rose by 244,000 last month, as the private sector posted the strongest employment gain in five years, the Labor Department said Friday in its survey of employers. The March data was revised upward slightly to show an increase of 221,000 jobs, from a previous estimated gain of 216,000.

However, the unemployment rate—which is obtained from a separate household survey—rose to 9.0% last month ...
Somehow the media will spin this as good news.

Joe Biden was unavailable for comment. From April 2010:
Vice President Joe Biden predicted on Friday the U.S. economy would create 100,000 to 200,000 jobs next month, with a rise to 250,000 to 500,000 jobs per month soon afterward, according to a press pool report.

"We caught a lot of bad breaks on the way down. We're going to catch a few good breaks because of good planning on the way up," Biden told a political fundraiser in Pittsburgh, the pool report said, as he hailed the Obama administration's recovery efforts.
Obama and Biden lied, jobs died.

Eight in 10 Americans say the economy is in poor shape. The other 20% must be the diehard Obama Koolaid slurpers.

Update: Of the jobs created, 62,000 were at McDonald's. Remember when Republicans create millions of jobs, they're derisively called "burger flipping" jobs. Will the left be sneering at Obama today about these statistics?

What's interesting here is that if you go to Drudge he has an article posted in red at the top left where he shows that 1/4 of all the jobs last month came from McDonalds. That means that if McDonalds hadn't done their hiring spree, and correct me if I'm wrong here, but the jobless numbers would have gone from very bad to horrific. This month, all the college kids are out. Next month, all the highschool kids are out. Disaster awaits.
