They're Democrats. Of course they're out of their minds.
A Democratic Party ad containing images of a plane buzzing lower Manhattan -- intended as a slam against Republican congressional candidate Bob Turner’s stand on tax breaks for corporate jets -- hit the airwaves yesterday as New Yorkers prepared for the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
The House Democratic Congressional Campaign had said on Thursday that it would yank the image from the ad -- but it didn’t catch it in time to prevent the original spot from appearing on several broadcasts yesterday morning.
Appearing with Turner in Midwood yesterday, Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) demanded the DCCC apologize.
“What are they? Crazy? Are they out of their freaking minds? Is this sick? This is a disgrace. This is chutzpah,” Hikind said.
DCCC spokesman Jennifer Crider said a “small tweak” was made to the ad removing the skyline.
