Weiner Meltdown Continues: 'You Know People May Not Believe Me, They Believe Breitbart, Whatever It Is'

Now he's trying to spin his way out of this afternoon's Waterloo presser. It's time to play the Breitbart card! Andrew Breitbart: The modern-day Ken Starr!
"Look here's the decision I made and you can disagree with it," he told TPM when asked for a clear answer on whether it was him in the photo, "that after two and a half days of statements that answer these questions that I'm not going to keep drilling into further details and further details, even one ... even the easy questions, even the obvious questions, even the ones I've answered before."

Weiner went on: "Because I don't believe in the idea you believe in that this will end. I have four separate emails from a New York Post reporter saying if you just answer this one question it will be over. You know people may not believe me, they believe Breitbart, whatever it is. I'm going to do the work I got to do and somewhere I've got to say I'm done talking about it. I'm going to decide what I'm going to talk about for the next several days and it's not going to be this."

A reporter interrupted to ask him if he had exchanged messages with a stripper on Twitter who mentioned on her feed in March that she had been in contact with Weiner online.

"See what I mean?" he said.
What a baby.

This is how the bully acts when the game is up. He won't last long at this rate. He's actually convinced himself that he's answered questions. The man is in deep, deep denial as he watches his career slipping away. Poor thing.

Still, he's bitterly clinging to his defiant smugness.
Meanwhile, the newfound attention is doing wonders for his popularity on Twitter.

"I passed Michele Bachmann in Twitter followers," he bragged. "Finally did it."
So proud of himself.

NPR: Al-Qaida Had Great Vacation Plan and Excellent HR Benefits

If Osama had just played his cards right he might've gotten that ObamaCare waiver. These folks have their priorities. Forget what intelligence we might be finding, damn, doesn't AQ have a great benefits plan?
Al-Qaida "didn't function as a traditional or typical terrorist organization did," he says. "It functioned really like a multinational. On the eve of 9/11, for example, the State Department has stated that al-Qaida had 60 offices worldwide. I mean, in essence it was a multinational."

More proof of its corporate structure: As odd as it sounds, al-Qaida had excellent HR benefits. The seized documents showed that al-Qaida paid an unusual amount of attention to its fighters and their families. Married members were allowed to have seven days of vacation for every three weeks worked. Bachelors got five days off a month.

Married members also got a salary of $108 a month. The pay was smaller for single men and larger if the fighters had more than one wife. Now that the organization has less money and is under such pressure, it is unclear whether the benefits are as generous as they used to be.
Hope they've paid up on premiums for future death benefits.

The Weiner Meltdown

If this tool thinks a belligerent press conference where he stonewalls endlessly is good damage control, then all power to him. This is the snide, arrogant, condescending twerp we've all become more than full of over the years. Does he really believe evasive non-answers to simple questions puts the story to bed?

Hardly.
Florida Republican Rep. Cliff Stearns is demanding an investigation into cybersecurity issues raised by #Weinergate, saying it is vital to “ensure our national security.”

Though New York Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner remains silent on whether or not he’ll be seeking an investigation into his claims that his Twitter and Facebook accounts were hacked, leading to his Twitter account’s posting of a picture of a man’s erect penis underneath gray boxer-briefs, Stearns told The Daily Caller that the imbroglio raises troubling questions that should be looked into by Congress.
Keep that part about remaining silent in mind as you watch this mealy-mouthed performance where he weakly claims to have answered all the questions.

Oh, and for good measure, he calls a reporter a jackass. How special.

These past few days have been hard on Weiner, and judging by this headline rougher days lie ahead.

Congressman Wants Weiner Probe

Ouch. Sounds painful.

Considering what a jerk Weiner has been over the years, it stands to reason more than a few crack investigative reporters could nail Weiner in about five minutes and relish doing so.

We're looking at you, ABC News.

VIDEO: Jay Carney Tells Reporters Everything He Knows

Prepare to be disappointed.

Clearly, the White House keeps Carney locked up in a windowless room in the East Wing, with no power or cell phone reception. They only let him out once a day for stuff like this. Don't expect too many answers from him - he's only the Press Secretary, don'tcha know!

Feel Good Story of the Day: Rapist Foiled When Victim Severs His Manhood

John Wayne Bobbitt could not be reached for comment.
DHAKA, Bangladesh - A 40-year-old Bangladeshi woman cut off a man's penis during an alleged attempted rape and took it to a police station as evidence, police in a remote part of the country said Monday.

The woman, a married mother of three, was attacked Saturday night while she was sleeping in her shanty in Jhalakathi district, some 120 miles south of Dhaka, officers said.

"As he tried to rape her, the lady cut his penis off with a knife. She then wrapped up the penis in a piece of polythene and brought it to the Jhalakathi police station as evidence of the crime," police chief Abul Khaer said.

The woman filed a case accusing the man -- who is also 40 and a married father of five -- of attempted rape, saying that he harassed her for six months.

The severed penis was kept at the police station, and the rape suspect was undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Rape suspect? Well, here's hoping she got the right guy.

Larry Flynt on Trig Palin: 'It's Brain Dead. A Virtual Vegetable'

You ever hear Larry Flynt speak? He sounds brain dead. Like a virtual vegetable.

Stay classy, Larry. I hear there's an opening at Wonkette. Probably the right place for you.
It's hard to keep him focused on this subject, or any subject. His conversation skids about. He doubts Barack Obama would cheat on his wife because: "You ever looked at her? If he ever cheated on her she'd kick his ass. You know they may be black but they've got a very stable family." Then he says, apropos of nothing: "Sarah Palin is the dumbest thing. But I made a fortune off of her. [He made a porn film called Nailin' Palin, based on her]... She did a disservice to every woman in America. She knew from the first month of pregnancy that kid was going to be Down's Syndrome. It's brain dead. A virtual vegetable. She carries it to all these different political events against abortion, she did it just because she didn't want to say she'd had an abortion. How long is it going to live? Another 12, 15 years? Doesn't even know it's in this world. So what kind of compassionate conservative is she? I don't think anybody will want her near the White House." I am so thrown by the unpleasantness of all this I don't even interject.
Well, for starters you could get up and walk away from this creep.

I suspect the left won't be too upset over the Palin comments. But his taking on the Obamas with those comments will surely have them up in arms.

What a horrible person Flynt is. In case he hasn't noticed, Trig is a very healthy little boy, an absolute angel. Calling that beautiful child an "it" just shows how depraved and callous Flynt is.

Twitter User Who Caught Weiner 'Prank' Now a 'Conservative Blogger'

How can anyone expect the media to get this story right when such basic facts are mangled? This guy Dan Wolfe, assuming that's his real name, is the Twitter user who first noticed the offending Twitter post allegedly made by a hacker. It's taken days for the media to really start digging into the story, but here we are four days after the fact and we have a report calling Wolfe a conservative blogger. Is it really that difficult to distinguish between someone on Twitter and someone who runs a blog?
On Friday, Weiner's 40,000 Twitter followers were exposed to a below-the-waist image of an aroused man's boxer-briefs in what appeared to be a private missive posted publicly by mistake. It had been sent to 21-year-old Gennette Nicole Cordova of Seattle, whom he follows on Twitter.

Political opponents seized on the incident and compared Weiner to married former upstate GOP Rep. Chris Lee, who quit last year after being caught trolling http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giffor dates on Craigslist.

Then, Weiner's backers questioned why conservative blogger Dan Wolfe, who had been hinting about a Weiner scandal for weeks, appeared to be the only person to have noticed the dirty image and retweeted it. Wolfe yesterday told The Post he simply retweeted it from the original posting.
You can check out his Twitter feed here. There's zero evidence to show he's a blogger. Can we get the basic facts correct here, New York Post? By the way, the left is furiously trying to blame Wolfe for the "prank," as Weiner now weakly calls it. Good luck with that.

Update: Speaking of shoddy journalism, the New York Times glowingly portrays Weiner as some kind of Twitter icon while making zero effort to investigate the story. Crap like this should be in Tiger Beat, not the New York Times.

Weiner: Hey, That Whole Lewd Photo Thing Was Just a Prank, But I'm Lawyering Up Anyway

Good luck with that.
Rep. Anthony Weiner isn't laughing at what he's calling an Internet "prank" - and he's hired an attorney to explore civil or criminal charges.

Weiner's office is playing off the lewd photo posted on his Twitter account Friday as the handiwork of a rabble-rousing hacker, but says the congressman can't take any chances.

"We are loath to treat it as more, but we are relying on professional advice," Weiner's spokesman Dave Arnold said.

Weiner's office did not identify the attorney.

The online soap opera unfolded over the weekend when an obscene photo on Weiner's Twitter page was addressed to Seattle college student Gennette Cordova - but visible to all 40,000 of his followers.

The photo of a man's crotch in tight-fitting underwear was quickly deleted - and Weiner insisted he'd been hacked.

As the blogosphere continued to buzz on Monday, Weiner hinted that his political foes were quick to focus on the controversy - rather than address issues affecting everyday Americans.

"Many want to change the subject [away from the issues] - I don't," Weiner said in a statement to The News on Monday. "This was a prank, and a silly one. I am focused on my work."
Actually, it's not a prank. If true, it's clearly a crime. Why hasn't Weiner reported this to the proper authorities?

And as if the New York Mets haven't suffered enough of late. Now they have this pervert wearing their gear.

Update: Some CNN video, via Mediaite.

He's rather ho-hum about the whole thing. Hey, this stuff happens! What are you going to do?

PBS Hacked by Wikileaks Sympathizers

What we've got here obviously is the second biggest hacking story of the weekend. What's that you say, the other one is complete BS? Oh, so this would be the only hacking story of the weekend, in that case.
A group of Wikileaks sympathizers hacked PBS' website late Sunday and posted a story that slain rapper Tupac Shakur was "alive and well" and living in New Zealand.

The group, identified as LulzSec, also posted passwords and email addresses of PBS staffers to its Twitter page, and taunted the news organization about the security breach.

"Dudes. Of course Tupac is alive. Didn't you see that official @PBS article? Why would they lie to their 750,000+ followers?" the group Tweeted early Monday.

In a statement posted to Twitter, LulzSec said it was upset about PBS' treatment of secret-spiller organization Wikileaks in a recent Frontline documentary called WikiSecrets.

"We just finished watching WikiSecrets and were less than impressed. We decided to sail our Lulz Boat over to the PBS servers for further... perusing," the statement said.

Shortly after midnight, the organization began posting links to the fake Tupac story, which said proof that the rapper was alive was found in a dead New Zealand man's diary, as well as dozens of passwords to PBS databases, user logins, a map of the organization's network and other information.

"Anyway, say hello to the insides of the PBS servers, folks. They best watch where they're sailing next time," the group wrote.

PBS quickly picked up on the cyber break-in. One staffer, Teresa Gorman, tweeted furiously starting around midnight to alert PBS readers about the breach.

"Again, the story was added by outside sources-aka hacked, not true," she wrote.

The headline for the Tupac story was still visible on PBS site Monday morning, but clicking on the story brought users to a dead page.
So a major news organization is hacked and still ostensibly under the control of the hackers. Yet Anthony Weiner manages to wrest control of his Twitter account back in a mere four minutes after he was hacked. Sure, that's believable.

Michael Bloomberg: 50 Years From Now the Earth Might Be "Uninhabitable"

Scary stuff.

But don't panic! All you need to do is cough up more taxes to science experts like Michael Bloomberg, and the global warming apocalypse can be averted.

Sorry, I meant to say 'climate change apocalypse'.

Whatever - just give Bloomberg your money and nobody will get hurt.
MICHAEL BLOOMBERG: If you ask the public ‘is there global warming,’ is in ’50 years the earth going to be dramatically different or perhaps uninhabitable,‘ their eyes roll. Nobody can think 50 years in advance.

MICHAEL BLOOMBERG: Your job is not to ask the public where they want to go and get behind them. Your job is to tell the public and convince the public where they should go, and lead from the front.

The Mayors of these cities are not asking the public whether they are willing to spend to live healthier lives and live longer. They are there to explain to the public that if they don’t spend that money they’re not going to live as long and not going to be as healthy. And then convince them to come along, reach into their pockets, pay their taxes, change their policies.
Gee, it's too bad Bloomberg isn't running for President. I can just picture the bumper sticker:

Bloomberg 2012: Reach Into Your Pockets, Pay Your Taxes, Obey My Commands

He'd be a shoo-in!

'Anthony's Accounts Were Obviously Hacked'

If it's so obvious, why doesn't he contact the police? This happened three days ago, so what is he waiting for?
Despite the quiet holiday weekend, Capitol Hill was buzzing about what quickly became known as Weinergate.

Some DC wonks were skeptical of Weiner's hacking story and questioned the lack of a police report about a crime as serious as Internet identity theft, a Washington insider said.

The uncertainty was also fed by Weiner's decision to quickly delete the posted photo -- and every other photo connected to the account.

As for Cordova, she took her Twitter and Facebook pages down after her name surfaced in connection with the congressman.

Weiner's rep, Dave Arnold, told The Post yesterday, "This is intended to be a distraction, and we're not going to let it become one.

"Anthony's accounts were obviously hacked. He doesn't know the person named by the hacker, and we will be consulting on what steps to take next."
The next steps? Try resigning for starters and well go from there. Curious how they're avoiding reporting this dastardly crime, isn't it?

The young lady Weiner "allegedly" send his boner photo to has obviously had some help with her statement.
There have never been any inappropriate exchanges between Anthony Weiner and myself, including thehttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif tweet/picture in question, which had apparently been deleted before it reached me. I cannot answer the questions that I do not have the answers to. I am not sure whether or not this letter will alleviate any future harassment. I also do not have a clear understanding as to how or why exactly I am involved in this fiasco. I do know that my life has been seriously impacted by speculation and faulty allegations. My reputation has been called into question by those who lack the character to report the facts.
How can a photo which was sent be deleted before it reaches the intended recipient? This makes no sense.

Weiner's people really need to work on their story, since none of what they're currently claiming is believable.

More here.
The photo, which shows a man from the waist down wearing bulging gray underwear, was sent to a woman who is a journalism student in the Seattle area. She quickly deleted her Twitter and Facebook accounts after the incident.
So if she never received the photo, as claimed, why would she delete her accounts?

Meanwhile, internet supersleuths have discovered the perp behind all this: It's Breitbart!
Here we go again. Andrew Breitbart is shameless. The joy he takes in maliciously destroying the reputations of others is reprehensible. He's a sociopath who needs some serious professional help. Although stepping in front is bus would suffice.

Great Moments in Bureaucratic Competence: IRS Often Doles Out Home Energy Tax Credit To People Without Said Home

Makes ya feel good, doesn't it?
Can the Internal Revenue Service handle tax credit programs that pump out billions of dollars to homeowners and buyers? A new federal investigation on home energy tax credits suggests the answer may be: Not quite yet.

The Treasury Department's inspector general for tax administration audited the residential tax credit program, created by Congress to encourage homeowners to install energy-saving equipment and materials in their houses, and found some disturbing oversights.

One part of the program offers 30% credits — with no dollar limit — for solar energy systems, geothermal heat pumps, wind turbines and fuel cells installed before Dec. 31, 2016. A second part of the program — for energy-efficiency home improvements — offered credits up to $1,500 for qualifying exterior windows and doors, insulation and roofing materials.

Both credits have been popular. More than 6.8 million taxpayers received credits during tax year 2009, totaling $5.8 billion through December 2010. But substantial numbers of the filings had problems that went undetected by the IRS, according to the inspector general's investigation. In a review of 5 million returns, auditors found that more than 302,000 taxpayers, who received a total of $234 million in credits from the IRS, showed no evidence of owning a home — the minimum requirement for eligibility.

A review of a smaller sample of returns, supplemented with local real estate property deed information, found that 30% "had no record of owning a home."
I propose we punish the IRS with a one-year, unpaid hiatus.

Palin Thundering Into DC

I have to admit, she looks hot in black.
Sarah Palin's participation in the annual Memorial Day parade in Washington, D.C., has fueled as much noise about a potential presidential candidacy as the thousands of motorcycle-riding veterans participating in the Rolling Thunder ride-along Sunday.

At the Pentagon parking lot where the mob of veterans and their families pre-position for the thunderous two-wheeler march down Constitution Ave, Palin, who was not expected to address the Memorial Day crowd, said she was thrilled to participate.

"I love that smell of the emissions," she said, donning sunglasses and a Harley Davidson skullcap-style, black helmet.

Despite her low-key role, her presence is notable for the short notice and speculative chatter it has generated. Her appearance is part of the "One Nation" tour she announced just days ago on her SarahPAC.com website.
Could you imagine Obama on a chopper? Neither can I. Especially since this image is seared into my memory.

'Selena Gomez is Dangerously Close to a Long, Slow Painful Death'

Geez, these teenage girls are quite the handful.
Don't mess with a pack of wild Beliebers.

Disney star Selena Gomez, 18, and singing supernova Justin Bieber, 17, decided to go public with their relationship after months of denying the rumors they were more than good friends. But canoodling with the world's reigning teen idol is becoming an increasingly dangerous affair.

Steamy pictures of the baby-faced stars kissing passionately on a beach in Maui last week had legions of jealous 14-year-old girls taking to Twitter and Facebook to announce they're out for blood.

"Stay away from Justin pedophile," one angry fan tweeted at Gomez. "I'm gonna kill ya in the night underneath your smelly bed."

Others opted for friendly advice over death threats.

"Dear Selena Gomez. I hate you more than life. Go jump off a cliff. K? Bye," tweeted a Bieber fanatic.

Another ominous Biebhead warned: "Selena Gomez is dangerously close to a long, slow painful death."

The puppy-love relationship has spawned Facebook groups such as "I hate Selena Gomez cuz she is dating my man."

The Year of Living Dangerously

Instapundit posted a link to the FBI crime stats for 2010 that was embedded in an article listing a ranking of the 10 Most Dangerous Cities. I was surprised to see that Atlanta was not on that list. I think the way Atlanta avoided it was due to the nature of the way the city limit lines are drawn. When it comes to number of murders, Atlanta is still high on the list, but these numbers would be even worse if they took into account the numbers from the south side of the county that Atlanta is located in but are separate cities.

Here is a list based solely on number of murders, and the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, apparently is killing a lot of people with all that love while Barry O's hometown has a death toll rivaling the number of soldiers killed in Afghanistan in 2010. (499)

Perception Vs Reality: Gay Population

A recent Gallup survey was released which shows that about half of the Americans surveyed thought the gay population was around 25%. The reality puts the actual population at less then 5%.
There is little reliable evidence about what percentage of the U.S. population is in reality gay or lesbian, due to few representative surveys asking about sexual orientation, complexities surrounding the groups and definitions involved, and the probability that some gay and lesbian individuals may not choose to identify themselves as such. Demographer Gary Gates last month released a review of population-based surveys on the topic, estimating that 3.5% of adults in the United States identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual, with bisexuals making up a slight majority of that figure.

Gee, I wonder how that could be? Maybe it is because there isn't a show on television that doesn't include a gay character along with the token female and token minority. Could it be because seemingly everybody associated with the entertainment industry has also professed to be gay or a lover of all things gay and wish they could be too? Quite possibly it could be because when the gay activist rally the troops, like they did in California over the gay marriage issue on the ballot, their side of the story was granted all the publicity, while the lives they ruined and threatened in their wake were ignored.

Maybe if more attention to given to such events as the Folsom Street decadence (That link is to the tamer pictures. Inside that link is a link to the NSFW pictures. Come to think of it that first link ain't all that safe.)that takes place in San Francisco the number of people claiming to be associated with gays would drop dramatically.

Amazing how a group that makes up so little of the population manages to bully their way into our lives and garners so much attention.

Trendsetter: Lady Gaga Fans Now Eating Baby Food

Talk about blindly following a pop culture icon. I wonder if she said she ate dogsh-t and her own boogers would these people do the same thing? Somehow I get the feeling they would.
LOVED for her music and extrovert style, it now seems Lady Gaga's fans are also crazy about her alleged "goo diet" - sending sales of baby food rocketing 100 percent, Sky News reported today.

Ever since it was rumoured that the Born This Way singer was tucking into infant meals to maintain her svelte figure while on tour, jars of the puree have been flying off supermarket shelves.

Orders for Heinz Mum's Own Creamed Porridge have leaped by 100 percent, while those for pasta and spaghetti Bolognese purees are up by 87 percent, according to grocery website Ocado.

A spokeswoman said, "Sales of baby food have been static but since Lady Gaga was reported to be a fan, demand has gone through the roof as women are copying her eating habits."

The faddy diet, devised by Tracy Anderson, the personal trainer who is also credited with sculpting the figures of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, is said to be a hit with a host of celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston and Cheryl Cole.
If I never hear another word about any of these celebutards I really won't be missing out on anything newsworthy.

Miller Brewing Gets Taken By IAVA

Proving that even the big boys are subject to getting scammed Miller High Life has thrown their lot in with a group called Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of American (IAVA) for a promotion. The name of the group probably has a lot to do with how easy Miller got taken, but they should have done a little research.

I have written about this group before, they are a partisan political front group for the Democrats. They manage to fly under the radar because they don't do a lot of publicity-whore stuff their more radical associates in Code Pink or IVAW Iraq Veterans Against the War do, but they do have the ear of liberals in Congress, which is what make them dangerous. The guys over at This Ain't Hell have done numerous takedowns of this group and especially their leader, some guy who spent four months running a motor pool in Kuwait and came out of it with the combined wisdom of the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff and began spouting off to anybody who would stick a microphone in his face how everything we were doing was wrong. You see, that is how his name became known. You don't think anybody who actually supported the troops and their mission would be welcome in the halls of Congress during the Bush years, do you?

Even with politics aside, if this group did work to assist veterans I might be able to look beyond this alliance, but the fact is they work against veterans. They have been strong advocates for raising our medical insurance rates, reducing the size of the military budget and troop strength as well as contributing heavily to other groups who are carrying out far more radical anti-war activities.

No, Miller, you should have done some research, and with this coming on the Memorial Day weekend, this could very well turn out to be disastrous for them as word of this alliance spreads among the veteran community.

Now, pass me a Sam Adams.

High School Teaches ACLU a Lesson on Bullying

It's that time of year again. Schools are graduating and the ACLU is trying to ruin the graduating seniors' special day with their bullying tactics of threatening lawsuits, along with their partner in crime, a group known as Americans United for Separation of Church of State.

Well, I hope the Obamas are especially proud of these students this year in light of their campaign to address bullying among our youth. You see, these kids and their parents, friends and neighbors told the ACLU and their ilk to shove it and held their graduation in a church.

Quite honestly, it was the common sense answer and as anybody who was involved in this graduation will tell you, it was about logistics, not religion. One student out of the thousands who graduated took issue and this is what gave these two party-pooping sourpuss groups all the leverage they needed to threaten the lawsuit.

Quite frankly, I am sick and tired of this whole separation of church and state argument to begin with. There is no part of the Constitution which advocates such a thing. The Constitution forbids the establishment of a state religion. The founding fathers wanted to avoid a repeat of what happened and was happening in England where whoever sat on the throne dictated the religion of the country and ruthlessly prosecuted those who didn't comply.

The entire phrase "separation of church and state" actually comes from some correspondence Thomas Jefferson had with a colleague that somehow made it into the comments made by Supreme Court justices in a case ruling in 1879, and as they saym the rest is history.

The use of a facility, which just so happens to have a cross atop the roof, does not make for the establishment of religion. Nobody makes attendance at the ceremony a condition of receiving a diploma, nor does anybody have to convert or engage in any sort of religious act for that matter.

Quite frankly, I remember very little about my own high school graduation. That is in part because I graduated early and already had a full-time job while awaiting word on the various colleges I had applied to. In fact, two hours after the actual receiving of the diploma I was back at work. While graduating high school is the high point of a young person's life, I would hope it winds up being merely another bullet point on their list of accomplishments in life. Savor it while it lasts, but always, always be planning your next accomplishment.

Congratulations to all those who graduated and I wish them well in their future endeavors.

Just to end on an upbeat note, here is one young lady who already has her next graduation planned.

Former Miss World Wins Damages After Being Branded Racist and Xenophobic

This took place in Ireland, where the laws clearly differ from our. Can you imagine if Americans were able to sue after being called racist? Liberals everywhere would be penniless. Entire swaths of the media would disappear, MSNBC would cease operation.

Anyway, this babe had options and now she's cashing in.
A former Miss World has been awarded £70,000 in damages after suing no-frills carrier Ryanair for defamation.

A jury at the High Court in Dublin yesterday ruled that publicity by the airline implied model Rosanna Davison, daughter of singer Chris de Burgh, was racist, xenophobic, jealous and narrow-minded.

The case centred on a press release posted on Ryanair’s website in November 2008 in response to remarks Miss Davison, 27, made the previous day in a newspaper.

Asked what she thought of the lack of any Irish women in Ryanair’s 2009 charity calendar of bikini-clad cabin crew, she said: ‘If I was (organising) it, I would have made sure Irish women were involved because it’s an Irish charity and Irish fundraising.’

The airline’s release said the comments by Miss Davison, who was crowned Miss World in 2003, ‘bordered on racism and demonstrated an elitist attitude against Ryanair’s international cabin crew’.

A barrister for Ms Davison told Dublin's High Court that under Ireland's libel laws her only options were to sue Ryanair or crawl under a rock.

'The damage is still being done,' said Declan Doyle SC, referring to the statement still on the airline's website.

'The fact the defendant still hasn't apologised is still out there.'
How on earth can anyone can imply she's racist for suggesting an Irish airline use more Irish models? Heck, if they look anything like her, they'd be negligent not to.

Barney Frank: Senate Republicans Have 'Acted Like Thugs'

Just keep talking, Bawney. We can't get enough of this civility.
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said Senate Republicans have “acted like thugs” in threatening to prevent a prominent consumer advocate – or anyone else – from heading a new consumer-protection agency.

Frank, the senior Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, criticized Republicans’ vows to hold up the confirmation process until their concerns with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau are addressed.

President Obama is eyeing Elizabeth Warren – a Harvard academic who has long championed the creation of a stand-alone consumer-protection bureau – to head the agency when its work begins on July 21. But Republicans have threatened to gum up the confirmation proceedings until the bureau's powers are curtailed.

A letter from 44 Senate Republicans to Obama earlier this month outlined their demands, including the creation of a board to replace the single director in overseeing the bureau.

The New York Times recently reported recently that, facing a stalemate, Warren was being urged to consider a Senate run in Massachusetts instead – which Warren's camp has downplayed.

Frank on Thursday said Warren would be a formidable force in the Senate, but he'd prefer to have her as head of the consumer-protection bureau.

"She'd be a good Senate candidate, but she would be a uniquely valuable director of the [consumer] bureau," Frank told The Hill, noting that Warren has been fighting for years "to get this bureau up and running."

"If the Senate Republicans had not acted like thugs and announced they would [block] the confirmation process, I would have wanted the president still to appoint her," Frank said.
Poor Bawney is obviously testy these days.

More on Warren here.

Dupnik's Affirmative Action Keystone Kops

Look I know Jammie already wrote about this, the execution of the Marine veteran by the Sheriff Dupnik Keystone Kops goon squad and now after seeing the video I am so furious I can't see straight. I will try to keep the language clean but I am that pissed after seeing the video.

The first thing that got my attention was that this hit squad suffer from a serious case of affirmative action feel good. Notice the female voices, not saying females can't be on what ever sort of team this was. It certainly wasn't a SWAT team, at least none that I have known. Second notice that the last two people in that queue have their weapons slung across their back. This indicates that they did not expect any resistance or that they were incredibly stupid.

This team also had no intentions of doing a simple arrest which is obvious by the actions of the members at the front who after knocking, if they announced who they were, it was only audible to those standing next to them knocked down the door and when their own officer's gun went off started shooting. Notice the nonchalant attitude of the guy who broke down the door. If you expect a bad guy on the other side you don't knock down a door and then turn your back and saunter away. These people were clueless and it honestly looks like they thought nobody was home.

This is a group of untrained amateurs, pretending to be police officers getting spooked by their own shadow and murdering an innocent person in their panic. I hope they never have another good night's sleep.

Congress can rake our service members over the coals calling them everything but a child of God for actions in Iraq and Afghanistan like Mssrs Kerry and the late Jack Murtha have done very publicly but this case carried out on American soil yields only yawns.

Those officers at the very least need to be fired for dereliction of duty and I would expect more serious charges related to manslaughter to be pressed. My opinion of this incident has only gotten worse since I first heard about this case and wrote about it.
I jsut can not get over the actions of this team that is on display in that video. Clueless, incompetent, untrained, undisciplined don't begin to describe it. Their incompetence is what led to the death of that Marine.

Video: Tucson SWAT Team Fires 70 Shots on Marine

You would think at some point the media might actually have questions for that stooge DA Clarence Dupnik.
A U.S. Marine who died in a flurry of bullets during a drug raid near Tucson never fired on the SWAT team that stormed his house, a report by the Pima County Sheriff's Department shows.

The revelation was contained in an internal investigation released by the department Thursday.

Jose Guerena died May 5 after a SWAT team descended on his home in a Tucson suburb with a search warrant. His home was one of four believed to be associated with a drug smuggling operation in the area.

A video released Thursday by the sheriff's department shows the uniformed SWAT team pulling up outside his house, sounding their sirens, banging on the front door -- before kicking it in -- and opening fire shortly after entering the home.

Officers fired more than 70 shots, the investigation showed. Deputies said they opened fire after Guerena, 26, gestured at them with an AR-15 -- a semiautomatic rifle.

Some of the officers said they believed that Guerena fired on them, but the investigation showed that no shots were fired from the weapon and it was never taken off the safety position.

Initial news reports indicated that he had been struck by more than 60 bullets. However, CNN has seen an initial report from the medical examiner that details 22 bullet wounds.
Well, that's a relief. It was only 22 bullets.

Three weeks ago it was reported Guarena fired on them. Oops.

At what point are these goons going to be brought up on charges?

Well, Duh: Poll Shows 12% of Israeli Jews Think Obama is Pro-Israel

Frankly I'm surprised the support for Obama is this high. Well, there's a silver lining here for Obama. He's twice as popular with Israelis than he was two years ago.
US President Barack Obama’s attempt to portray himself as pro-Israel in a high-profile speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee on Sunday did not succeed, according to a Smith Research poll sponsored by The Jerusalem Post.

The speech was intended to correct impressions that he was hostile toward Israel, which may have been reinforced by a landmark address about the Middle East that he delivered at the State Department last Thursday, and by a tense press conference at the White House on Friday with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
...
When asked in the poll whether they saw Obama’s administration as more pro-Israel, more pro-Palestinian or neutral, just 12 percent of Israeli Jews surveyed said more pro-Israel, while 40% said more pro-Palestinian, 34% said neutral and 13% did not express an opinion.
...
Respondents who defined themselves at the left end of the political map were more likely than others to deem the Obama administration more pro-Israel – 28% compared to 12%. Among Kadima supporters, 37% said the administration was more pro-Palestinian; 19% said it was more pro-Israel.

The respondents most likely to label the Obama administration as more pro- Palestinian were Orthodox Israelis, at 58%, and right-wing respondents, at 53%. Among Likud supporters, 49% said the administration was more pro-Palestinian; 11% said it was more pro-Israel.
The only Jewish support Obama concerns himself with is with the schmucks writing him campaign checks.

Stunner: Fannie Mae Exec Who Hired Barney Frank's Boyfriend Used to Work for Frank

Nothing improper here, folks. Just move along. You're a homophobe if you think there was anything unseemly going on.
The Fannie Mae executive who hired U.S. Rep. Barney Frank’s former lover was a campaign donor and once worked for the congressman — but denies the Newton Democrat’s recommendation played a role in the controversial 1991 hiring.

Gerald McMurray, a retired Fannie Mae senior vice president, told the Herald yesterday that Frank “didn’t have any influence” in the hiring of the congressman’s former companion, Herb Moses, to a position with the mortgage giant.

“I put out a notice that I needed a person with a rural economic development background and I got a number of resumes. Herb’s resume came in and . . . he came in for an interview,” said McMurray, who now lives in Vermont. “I didn’t know there was any relationship between he and Barney until (Moses) told me.”
Uh, when did he tell you that? When you two were doing the horizontal mambo?
In a front-page story in yesterday’s Herald, Frank admitted he helped Moses land the plum post but called questions about a potential conflict “nonsense.”

At the time of the meeting, Frank was a junior member of the Financial Services Committee, which regulates Fannie Mae and other lending institutions.

“It’s a common thing in Washington for members of Congress to have spouses work for the federal government,” Frank said.
Um, not to quibble, but Moses wasn't Frank's spouse. Just saying.

Good News: National Science Foundation Spending $581,000 to Determine Whether Online Dating Site Users are Racist

We figure they could save $581,000 by simply taking the liberal approach. Just declare them racist without any basis for the accusation. It's been working for the past 25 years or so. But I guess anything that keeps the grievance industry in business is worth wasting your tax money on. Oh, and if you wonder why the president is so obsessed with the NCAA Baseketball Tournament, now you know why.
• $80,000 study on why the same teams always dominate March Madness;

• $315,000 study suggesting playing FarmVille on Facebook helps adults develop and maintain relationships;

• $1 million for an analysis of how quickly parents respond to trendy baby names;

• $50,000 to produce and publicize amateur songs about science, including a rap called “Money 4 Drugz,” and a misleading song titled “Biogas is a Gas, Gas, Gas”;

• $2 million to figure out that people who often post pictures on the internet from the same location at the same time are usually friends; and

• $581,000 on whether online dating site users are racist.
But let someone propose cancelling all these wasteful "projects" and they'll be accused of being racist.

If the Congress and Senate doesn't vote unanimously to cut this crap out of the budget then there's no hope we'll ever see fiscal sanity.

Hey Baby, I Love Those Toned Arms

I haven't seen any of Obama's bootlicker press ask him about Dominique Strauss-Kahn ever since the French (alleged) rapist made his way into the headlines. It sure looks like he's got a thing for the First Lady.
The commander-in-chief here appears to be telling the then-IMF chief to hold that tiger as a leering DSK greets First Lady Michelle Obama at a G-20 dinner in Pittsburgh in 2009. Granted, she'd probably kick his ass if he came too close.

Change: Democrats Lovin' the Patriot Act Now

And here I thought most Democrats hated Patriot Act.

Turns out they only hated George W. Bush. Shocking!
WASHINGTON (AP) — Over fervent but scattered objections, the Senate voted by a wide margin Thursday to extend the government’s Patriot Act powers to search records and conduct roving wiretaps in pursuit of terrorists, acting just a month after intelligence and military forces hunted down Osama bin Laden.

Facing a midnight deadline when three terror-fighting tools would expire, the 72-23 Senate vote came after three days of stubborn resistance from a single senator, Republican freshman Rand Paul of Kentucky, who saw the terrorist-hunting powers as an abuse of privacy rights. With the Senate vote, the bill was whisked to the House for an evening vote and transmission to President Barack Obama for his signature.

The measure would add four years to the legal life of roving wiretaps – those authorized for a person rather than a communications line or device – of court-ordered searches of business records and of surveillance of non-American “lone wolf” suspects without confirmed ties to terrorist groups.

The White House gave assurances that the provisions would not expire even though Obama is now in Europe.

“Failure to sign this legislation poses a significant risk to U.S. national security,” White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said.

“As long as Congress approves the extension, the president will direct the use of the autopen to sign it,” Shapiro said in reference to an automatic signature machine used at the White House.

Obama will be woken up at 5:45 a.m. so he can review and approve the bill and then authorize his signature.
Hold on a sec...somebody has to actually wake Obama up in the morning?

Does he get a tuck-in at night too, I wonder?

Faced With Reality, Whiny Liberal Storms off Fox Interview

Good grief, dude, man up. All the guy did was accuse you of pouting and you walk off?

It's just not possible to have an adult discussion with these people. In one breath, he tells the other guest to shut up. Then when he doesn't he storms off like a petulant child.

This guy was a former adviser to Bill Clinton. Maybe he ought to listen to his old boss.

'What's Up Your Butt?' Billboards Scrapped

I figured this was a good cause you could get behind.
It's official. Really, really official.

The "What's up your butt?" colon cancer awareness billboards won't be coming to the Tri-Cities.

Health board members -- who also are the Benton and Franklin county commissioners -- voted 5-0 on Wednesday to reverse a vote last month allowing the Benton Franklin Health District's name to be used on the controversial advertisements.

Board member Leo Bowman was absent.

The board unanimously agreed April 20 to allow the district's name to be used on the billboards, which would have been paid for by the Yakima Health District with grant money leftover from its own campaign.

But the next day, after receiving complaints from residents who thought the ads were in poor taste, Board Chairman Jim Beaver said he wanted to rescind the vote.

The campaign included billboard advertisements showing people with pained expressions and the phrase, "What's up your butt?"

It's designed to be an in-your-face way of raising awareness about the dangers of colorectal cancers and the need for people to get screened for the disease.
Now they may not find what's up your butt until it's too late.

Senator Inhofe: You Know, Obama Might Just Have Mental Problems

Well, now, this ought to go over well with the Democrats. Tip to Senator Inhofe: I believe it's called narcissistic personality disorder.
Narcissistic personality disorder is a condition in which people have an inflated sense of self-importance and an extreme preoccupation with themselves.

The causes of this disorder are unknown. An overly sensitive personality and parenting problems may affect the development of this disorder.
Yup, that's Obama.

Steers, Queers, and Illegals

Georgia recently passed an illegal immigration bill patterned after the one passed in Arizona, and in doing so has inspired other states to also start passing legislation to do what the federal government won't do. There are a ton of laws on the books at the federal level that they simply have chosen not to enforce, forcing states to take action. A surprising fact to most people is that Georgia is actually second in the nation in the number of illegal aliens. Before the state took action, a couple of counties within the state had already taken action, which helped to push the legislation through the state house.

Now that Governor Deal has signed it into law, there are the supporters of illegal immigrants that have now decided to get very bold and in your face with their defiance of not only state laws but federal laws as well. A movement has been created to create sanctuary places for the illegals to gather. Going over the list of places it seems as if the militant gay community has teamed up with the La Raza types to spearhead this action. A list of these businesses and establishments participating in this overt illegal act is here

Consider this a public service for residents of metro Atlanta, who if they ever did business or frequented these places, may want to rethink that. Who knows, maybe this will be good for business but I would certainly hope some incompetent butt-kissing boob at the Department of Homeland InSecurity might want to take this opportunity to score some points with the boss and schedule some visits. This should certainly make the job easier, since they apparently are not concerned with staying in the shadows like so many liberals like to espouse.

Remember when folks committing illegal acts tried to avoid the spotlight? Hell, nowadays they give interviews, post details on the internet and just basically give a big middle-finger salute to the law enforcement community telling them that the law doesn't mean squat to them. I tend to get a little steamed when folks laugh in my face, especially when they are laughing at me and not with me.

UPDATE: The US Supreme Court has just upheld that portion of the Arizona law that requires employers to use the federal gov't E-Verify system, which is also a key component of the Georgia law.
"Arizona has taken the route least likely to cause tension with federal law," wrote Chief Justice John Roberts. "It relies solely on the federal government's own determination of who is an unauthorized alien, and it requires Arizona employers to use the federal government's own system for checking employee status."

Oh, thanks to former president George W. Bush for appointing Justice Roberts to the court.

Biden: 'We Have a Leader With the Backbone of a Ramrod'

Let's see. According to the Urban Dictionary, "ramrod" can mean any number of things: A dick, a penis, a crazy guy that refers to himself in third person and a large blunt object that protrudes into someones anal orphus.

Yup, that pretty much describes Obama.
“You can feel the change,” Biden noted, speaking before a crowd that included Gov. John Lynch, as well as former congressmen Paul Hodes and Carol Shea-Porter, among other party leaders who lost their seats during last year’s elections.

“The American people get it, and they’re getting it more profoundly than ever before,” he said, his voice hushed to a dramatic whisper. “We have a leader with the backbone of a ramrod, and now the real Barack Obama … is coming into focus.”
Barack Obama: The man with a backbone of a penis!

Stunner: NY Outspends Every State on Education By Wide Margin With Dreadful Results

Bet you last dollar the teacher's unions will come up with a novel reaction to these abysmal results: We're not spending enough!
New York state's school systems deserve an F -- in financial accountability.

State taxpayers spend substantially more money on education than any other state in the nation but get far less in return on their investment, according to a shocking new federal study released yesterday.

New York schools on average spent $18,126 per student in the 2008-2009 school year -- tops in the nation, the Census Bureau reports.

That's nearly $2,000 more than the $16,271 spent in neighboring New Jersey and 80 percent higher than the national average of $10,499.

But the Empire State's four-year high-school graduation rate of 73.5 percent ranked a lowly 39th in the nation, two points below the national average, according to a separate analysis by the National Center for Education Statistics.

By comparison, Massachusetts -- which spends $4,000 less per student -- has an 83 percent graduation rate.

New York has doubled its per-student spending over 10 years. For five consecutive years the state has spent the most per student in the nation.

Despite its low standing, New York has seen some notable improvements. The four-year high-school graduation rate has increased from 62.5 percent in 1999 to 73.5 percent 10 years later. Much of that increase occurred in New York City under Mayor Bloomberg and then-schools boss Joel Klein.

Gov. Cuomo said the findings justified his drive to trim education spending by $1.2 billion last month to balance the state budget. During budget presentations across the state, he pointed out the disparity between school spending and performance.

"We spend too much money and we get too few results," Cuomo said at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica yesterday when asked about the Census report.

"It's not just that we spend too much money. It's that we spend too much money and the system isn't performing for the students," he said.
No kidding, Captain Obvious. But let's all just make believe how wonderful all these fat-cat teachers are and how hard they work. For the children.

Blinged-Out Michelle Obama's Shocking New Hairdo

Combine a bit too much hair relaxer with those fierce British winds and look what happens.

Actually, it's all just an optical illusion. Typically, the story goes on to pretend what a stunning fashion icon she is. The British tabloids must have also gotten the same memo their American brethren did: No matter how hideous her fashion choices are, just pretend how great she looks. So nice to see how she's down with the plight of the little people by sporting a necklace valued at £1,500. Should go well with her $540 sneakers.

Tiki Barber: I'm the New Anne Frank or Something

Why didn't I see this already? Here you have a man who dumped his eight-months pregnant wife to run off with his 23-year-old girlfriend. Facing withering public scrutiny, he wound up laying low at his agent's house and even claims to have lived in the attic.

So obviously the first thing we should have thought about was how similar his plight was to a Jewish girl who spent two years hiding from the Nazis before being murdered.

It's all so obvious now.
Tiki Barber never did have a terribly helpful internal editor. It's what made him a classic locker-room lawyer as a player, polarizing in his smugness. It's what caused his downfall at NBC, where he asked to be judged not as an ex-jock but as a journalist, and when those grades came in his grade-point average resembled Bluto Blutarsky.

Now, there is this.

Now, in the same issue of Sports Illustrated in which Fred Wilpon spoke about how much money his team is hemorrhaging, in the same week Wilpon made like Michael Corleone, bloodily settling all family business, Barber -- in what clearly was intended to be a positive story (sound familiar?) -- explained his life after he left his pregnant wife, Ginny, taking up with his 23-year-old girlfriend, Traci Johnson.

Barber told SI's L. Jon Wertheim that he and Johnson decided to escape the media scrutiny by moving into the attic of Mark Lepselter, Barber's agent.

"Lep's Jewish," Wertheim quotes Barber, "and it was like a reverse Anne Frank thing."

Yes, read that again. Not a typo. That's what he said.

It's remarkable: Barber has a gift for saying exactly the wrong thing almost every time he opens his mouth.

He has gone on an extensive media rehab tour as he makes his ballyhooed return to the NFL -- a comeback that in itself is admirable, because he clearly left an awful lot of football on the table when he retired at the close of the 2006 season.

Now this? Really? He really thought it was a good idea to compare holing up with his paramour, hoping to ward off Page Six, to the two-year plight of the Frank family hiding from the Nazis -- a story, by the way, that ended with Anne's death from typhus in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp?

It's staggering, is what it is. Think about this: Think about what the reaction would be if any of the white named plaintiffs in the NFLPA's antitrust lawsuit -- Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, for starters -- decided to compare their plight to Dred Scott's?
Well, for one the reactions would be widespread derision, and it would be far more newsworthy since those two still have careers. Barber may be able to make a comeback if there's an NFL season this year. But while Brady and Manning will probably always handle themselves with class, Barber will always be a lowlife.

That much we should have seen a long time ago.

Socialized Medicine Horror Story of the Day

Your future under ObamaCare. But remember, it's Paul Ryan who wants to kill grandma or something.
Doctors are prescribing drinking water for neglected elderly patients to stop them dying of thirst in hospital.

The measure – to remind nurses of the most basic necessity – is revealed in a damning report on pensioner care in NHS wards.

Some trusts are neglecting the elderly on such a fundamental level their wards could face closure orders.

The snapshot study, triggered by a Mail campaign, found staff routinely ignored patients’ calls for help and forgot to check that they had had enough to eat and drink.

Dehydration contributes to the death of more than 800 hospital patients every year.

Another 300 die malnourished. The http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giflatest report – by the Care Quality Commission – found patients frequently complained they were spoken to in a ‘condescending and dismissive’ manner.

The watchdog said three of 12 NHS trusts visited in the past three months were failing to meet the most basic standards required by law.

They were: Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust and Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust in North London.

The findings follow a joint campaign by the Mail and the Patients Association last year which exposed shocking examples of substandard care.

Similar failings were highlighted earlier this year by the Health Service Ombudsman who cited cases of patients left to become so thirsty they could not cry for help.
It's not just the elderly having problems under the NHS.

Crazy Ed Schultz: Laura Ingraham a 'Right Wing Slut'

The dude is seriously unhinged. Via Radio Equalizer, who wonders how much longer Comcast will suffer with this buffoon on MSNBC.

Schultz has really lost it. He's claiming Ingraham celebrated while Ronald Reagan had a pint in Ireland? If I'm guessing correctly, Ingraham was probably in high school or perhaps college during Reagan's presidency. Is Schultz relying on Media Matters for his information again?
ED SCHULTZ (02:52): And what do the Republicans thinking about? They're not thinking about their next-door neighbor. They're just thinking about how much this is going to cost. President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Mo., on Sunday but you know what they're talking about, like this right-wing slut, what's her name?, Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she's a talk slut. You see, she was, back in thehttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif day, praising President Reagan when he was drinking a beer overseas. But now that Obama's doing it, they're working him over.
Update: Low-rated MSNBC has sent the low-rated psychopath packing for a week.

Ingraham responds.
Re. the crude comments made about me by Ed Schultz on his radio program: First, I was surprised to learn that Ed Schultz actually hosted a radio show. Is it only available online? Second, I have to get back to recording the audio edition of my new book "Of Thee I Zing." Now I'm tempted to insert one additional zing--about men who preach civility but practice misogyny.
Over two days after the disgusting comments by Schultz, the pukes at Media Matters weigh in with some haughty drivel. Way to get out in front of the story.

Governor Walker Signs Voter ID Bill, Democrats Hardest Hit

What an outrage! Can you believe this guy actually wants people to prove they're eligible to vote? What next? Making people pay a small portion for their healthcare benefits?
After an eight-year quest by GOP officials, Gov. Scott Walker will sign a bill Wednesday requiring voters to show photo ID at the polls.

But the measure costing more than $7 million in new spending and lost revenue could still face a legal challenge as opponents mulled over the possibility of suing to block it from taking effect.

The legislation will require poll workers to start asking voters for photo IDs for the July 12 state Senate recalls elections, but the voters will not be required to present them until next year's presidential primary.

"Requiring photo identification to vote will go a long way to eliminate the threat of voter fraud," Walker said last week. "If you need an ID to buy cold medicine, it's reasonable to require it to vote."

The signing will make Wisconsin the 11th state to have approved requiring some form of photo ID at the polls. Democrats have decried the measure, saying it would do little to prevent voter fraud while disenfranchising thousands of minority, elderly and rural voters.

"This is voter suppression," Sen. Lena Taylor (D-Milwaukee) said during the Senate vote approving the bill last week. "This is voter disenfranchisement. This is voter confusion. This is voter restriction. This is a voter discouragement bill."
Actually, this is common sense, so naturally Democrats oppose it. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize they're the ones most affected by any measure to prevent illegal votes being cast.

Democrats shouldn't be all that upset since there's still plenty of room for their usual chicanery.
Under the bill passed last week, people would be allowed to vote only after showing Wisconsin driver's licenses, state-issued ID cards, certain very limited student IDs, military IDs, passports, naturalization certificates or IDs issued by a tribe based in Wisconsin.

Those living in retirement homes, nursing homes and institutions would be exempt from the law, as would victims of stalking and those who opposed having their photos taken for religious reasons. A voter who did not show a photo ID would be allowed to cast a provisional ballot that would be counted if the voter showed photo ID to an election clerk by the Friday after the election.
H/T Sean Hackbarth.

Update: More good news out of Wisconsin.
Publicly-financed political campaigns for state office in Wisconsin would be completely eliminated under a plan approved by Republicans on the legislature’s budget committee yesterday.

The plan goes farther than what Governor Scott Walker proposed in his budget. Walker would have ended the use of tax dollars for candidates for Governor, the State Supreme Court or the legislature. But he would have let people use the income tax checkoff to spend their own money on Wisconsin’s Election Campaign Fund. The plan Republican lawmakers approved yesterday would delete the checkoff entirely, putting an end to the decades old program.

Poplar Democratic Senator Bob Jauch called the move disgusting.

“It's pathetic to think that Wisconsin -- a state that has promoted transparency, a state that has encouraged clean and open elections -- is about hand the keys of our election process completely over to those with the deepest pockets, those with the greatest amount of money, those who can write the largest checks,” he said.
Jauch, of course, was one of the cowardly fleebaggers who fled the state earlier this year.

That NY 26 Election Wasn't About Medicare At All

If I was the Democrats I wouldn't be doing a victory dance today over the results of the special election in the New York 26th congressional district. After looking at the results of the election one fact was abundantly clear. Republicans stayed home.

At the very beginning of this campaign there was a lot of disgust expressed by the rank and file Republican voter over the choice made by the New York political establishment of the Republicans choice to carry the banner.

Let's look at the numbers. In 2010, in the election won by the Republican Lee he received 151,449 votes. In this special election the Republican establishment candidate received only 43,836.

On the Democrat side of the ledger in 2010 their candidate got 54,307 and in the special election won by Hochul she received 48,530.

The Democrat totals were very close in both elections while the Republican turnout was only a third of that cast in 2010. If I was a member of the powers that be in the New York Republican Party I might want to start listening to what the folks in the district are saying they want for a candidate. If the Republicans had voted in this special election in the same numbers they did in 2010, the few thousand votes siphoned off by the third party candidate wouldn't have mattered.

As far as all the pundits who have come out and proclaimed that this was a referendum of Medicare they are full of it. That is what the Democrats want to blame it on as they flounder around looking for an issue they can use as a rallying cry for the upcoming 2012 elections, since they need to get as far away from their record as possible and their culture of failure. The Republicans need to quit letting the Democrats and their myrmidons in the media continue to dictate what the terms of the issues will be and start staking out positions in line with their convictions. Already today I have heard Republicans playing into their hands and issuing comments on the role the Medicare debate played in the special election, which makes them less astute then the average American who realizes that the issues of today are jobs, economy, and energy.

Obama Now Appearing on WWE Posters

He fancies himself an expert on sports, so I wouldn't doubt it if the guy wound up calling wrestling. It's about as fake as he is.
Something tells me this poster was not approved at the higher levels of government. It’s for Capitol Punishment, the World Wrestling Entertainment pay-per-view event to be held June 19 at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., and yes, that’s President Obama refereeing in the middle there. Rey Mysterio and John Cena are on either side.

It's Come to This: Soap Ad Now Racist

Gee, it's so obvious, isn't it? An ad with a black woman on one side, a white woman on the other and someone passably a Latina in the middle. We've finally reached a diversity quota for soap ads. But no, there's deep, dark sinister racism lurking just below the surface if you look hard enough.
Soap giant Dove has landed itself in hot water after an advert for one of its products appeared to suggest it can change a user's skin colour.

The promotion, for Dove VisibleCare Creme Body Wash - a £2.69 product that is available in Boots - features a 'before' and 'after' skin chart behind a black woman, possibly a Latina and a blonde - all wrapped in towels - standing beside each other.

The caption reads: 'Visibly more beautiful skin from the most unexpected of places - your shower.'

But critics are in a lather over the ad, accusing Dove of implied - and albeit unintentional - racism.

Under the headline 'Dove body wash turns black women into Latino women, into white women', one blogger wrote: 'At least, that's what one could possibly infer by the left-to-right before and after progression in this ad for Dove VisibleCare.

This is so stupid, I'm thinking it's got to be a fake Photoshop ad. But it doesn't look like it.'

Another wrote: 'Bye-bye black skin, hello white skin! (Scrub hard!) Can this ad possibly be real?

'Some people think it is! If real, this could be the most unintentionally(?) racist skin care product ad in... about ten months.'

Dove confirmed that the advert was genuine, adding: 'The ad is intended to illustrate the benefits of using Dove VisibleCare Body Wash, by making skin visibly more beautiful in just one week.

'All three women are intended to demonstrate the "after" product benefit. We do not condone any activity or imagery that intentionally insults any audience.'
So now apparently the deranged musings of some obscure bloggers becomes news?

If there were three white women in the ad they'd be called racist. They skip that route and they're still racist. Where some weirdos see racism, I strangely see three women wearing towels. But hey, that's just me, I guess.

The idiocy just never stops.

Democrats Flee Obama on Israel; Obama is 'Tilting Toward Hamas'

If you needed further proof the man-child in the White House is completely in over his head, he's now facing a full mutiny from his own party following his disastrous speech last week.
Senate Democrats are expected to support a resolution intended as a rebuff to President Obama’s call for basing Middle East peace talks on the 1967 Israeli-Palestinian borders.

It would be a rare rebuke of the president by the upper chamber and a sign that Democrats are worried about the impact of last week’s speech on the U.S.-Israel relationship and pro-Israel constituents.

Democrats in both chambers are scrambling to fix the damage caused when Obama called for the 1967 borders and land swaps as a basis for peace.

Some Democrats have tried to downplay the rift, but Israel’s strongest supporters in Congress say there’s no denying that Obama made a tactical mistake in handling the relationship.

“I wish that the president had not made the speech on Thursday, particularly not made it — I gather — without much consultation” with Israel, said Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.), an Independent who caucuses with Democrats. “So I think it was a tactical mistake.”
There's an understatement.

Further humiliating Obama, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu brought down the house Tuesday in his speech before Congress, receiving 29 standing ovations in the process.

It speaks volumes how well received Netanyahu has been, contrasted with the amateurish performance and petulant behavior of Obama.

How worried are Democrats?
Rep. Robert Andrews (D-N.J.) said Tuesday that Obama is "tilting toward Hamas" – a reference to the Palestinian group the United States and Israel consider a terrorist organization. He emphasized that Congress would never base its approach to Israeli aid on such a position.

"A majority of the Congress disagrees with him,” Andrews said of Obama.

Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga.), for one, said the president "absolutely … made a mistake" with his 1967-borders proposal, and suggested it would harm — rather than bolster — the chances of renewed peace talks.

"With all of the political turmoil and unrest in the Middle East, I don’t understand why the president injected himself into that issue right now," he said.

Both Rep. Steny Hoyer (Md.), the House Democratic whip, and Senate Majhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) have also rejected Obama's proposal in recent days, telling the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) that preconditions have no place in the negotiations.

"No one should set premature parameters about borders, about building or http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifabout anything else," Reid said Monday night to roaring applause.
While the media gush this morning over a Democrat winning a special election in Western New York, they may want to have a look at the larger picture and realize the guy they helped put in the White House is in dangerously over his head.

He never looked smaller when compared to a giant of a man like Netanyahu. No wonder he has no idea what day it is.

Disgraced Democrat Edwards Facing Indictment

He'll probably thrown himself on the mercy of the court claiming grieving widow status.
The United States Department of Justice has green-lighted the prosecution of former presidential candidate John Edwards for alleged violations of campaign laws while he tried to cover up an extra-marital affair, ABC News has learned.

A source close to the case said Edwards is aware that the government intends to seek an indictment and that the former senator from North Carolina is now considering his limited options. He could accept a plea bargain with prosecutors or face a potentially costly trial.
Edwards is so full of himself he'll probably cop a plea in return for little if no time and begin setting his sights on his future job at CNN or MSNBC.

Yet Another Sport Obama Sucks At: Ping Pong

Obama Living in the Past

You've got to be kidding me.

It is a great privilege to commemorate our common heritage, and common sacrifice.

Barack Obama

24 May 2008
If only we could all turn back the clock.

H/T.

Update: It gets better.
But the president seemed to have made a gaffe during the occasion - signing Westminster Abbey's distinguished visitors' book with the wrong year.

Mr Obama dated his entry in the book May 24 2008, rather than the current year.

Apparently Mr Obama was heard to ask the dean what the day's date was - but managed to get the year wrong.

A Westminster Abbey spokeswoman confirmed it was the president who had written the wrong date.
He's clueless.

Help Put 911 In The Winner's Circle

I probably shouldn't be doing this, but what the heck I've got a forum and I might as well use it, although this may constitute abuse, but it is family and that means a lot to me.

I have a niece who has gotten into dirt track racing, previously she raced in Minnesota but has now moved to Arizona to continue her pursuit racing in a class known as X-Mod. She has a new car but needs some help bringing it up to speed to get to the winners circle. She is doing very well with the limited resources she has right now but I want to get this girl to the winners circle. Here is what she is looking for right now.
I bought a used car and it does need several improvements, better motor and I want to get a floater rear end. The seat in it is also very old and I want to get a full containment seat which costs around $500 (on the low end), a spare set or 2 of tires/wheels.

As far as sponsorships, they can be any range. Of course the bigger they are means more car exposure (graphics, colors, & extras for the sponsor) and better & more competitive equipment for me to race. It also can help how much I can travel to other tracks.

The seat is a safety item and dadgummit I want her to be safe in that car. We have so little family left on my side of the ledger, her mother, my aunt, succumbed to pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago.

The car number is 911 and when she raced in Minnesota she was fortunate enough to have sponsorship from the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) which is a private organization which assists military members.

So for you gear heads out there, motorsports fans or just folks who want to help a special girl out I encourage you to reach out to her. Any help at all will be appreciated. Help her put that 911 car into the winners circle.
