'You Gotta Be Kidding Me'

It would probably be a lot easier if you just car-pooled.
She tried to take us for a ride.

A woman drove around with an elaborately dolled-up mannequin -- complete with a brunette wig, make-up and immaculately styled clothes -- in an attempt to shimmy her way into the Long Island Expressway carpool lane.

But an eagle-eyed cop put the brakes on her plan when he noticed that the dummy was sporting shades on a cloudy day.

"This woman obviously put a lot of effort into this," said Suffolk County Sheriff Michael Sharkey.

A sheriff's officer spotted Kathleen Frascinella of Mount Sinai, LI, cruising west in a Chrysler down the LIE between Exits 57 and 58 at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.

But Officer Robert Howard noticed that the brunette in the passenger seat was wearing sunglasses on an overcast winter day -- and had the sun visor down, even though the car was heading west in the morning.

When he pulled alongside, the officer said, he noticed that Frascinella was trying to pull a fast one -- using a dummy to get around the rule that at least two people be in the car while in the high-occupancy vehicle lane.

"I said, 'You gotta be kidding me,' " the officer told reporters yesterday.

Howard was so tickled by the trick that he opened with a joke: "Ma'am, I want your license and registration. And I want to see her ID as well."

Frascinella was not amused. Howard said that she snapped back that she saw no problem with her dummy, since everyone else is doing it.

'She Hasn't Been in Touch With the President'

Looks like Barack Obama's illegal alien Auntie Zeituni is trying to fight deportation back to Kenya. Laughably, the White House claims she hasn't had any contact with the most powerful man on the planet in an attempt to stay here.

Sure.
When President Obama's Kenyan aunt appears before a U.S. immigration judge in Boston today, she says she will literally be making the case for her life.

Zeituni Onyango, 56, is fighting a 2004 deportation order by seeking asylum in this country – a status granted to those who cannot return home out of fear of being persecuted.

But just what persecution Onyango claims to face and whether a judge will find her fears well-founded is uncertain. Onyango first applied for asylum in 2002 "due to violence in Kenya" but was denied and ordered to leave the country.

Instead of returning home, the woman who helped raise the president's half brothers and sister in Kenya and whom Obama affectionately referred to as "Auntie Zeituni" in his memoir, has remained illegally in Boston, living in subsidized public housing.

Now the case, which first surfaced in October 2008, just before the presidential election, is once again drawing international attention and sparking speculation about whether Obama will intervene on her behalf.

"President Obama must either deport his aunt or destroy his own credibility by showing her favoritism," said William Gheen of the conservative Americans for Legal Immigration PAC.
Umm, from this angle, his credibility is already destroyed. But hey, I'm just some wacko blogger, so my opinion doesn't matter.
The White House has insisted that it has no involvement with Onyango's case, leaving it to follow an ordinary course before a federal judge who will apply the rule of law. For her part, Onyango told The Associated Press she has not been in contact with anyone from the White House or been contacted by them.

Onyango did not respond to ABC News' requests for interviews.

"She hasn't been in touch with the president. He can't help her," Mike Rogers, spokesman for Onyango's attorney Margaret Wong, told ABC News.

Target Wipes Israel Off the Map

Obviously the maniacs in Iran vow to wipe Israel off the map, but who knew a major American retail chain has already done so? The folks at Target have some explaining to do, because their mealy-mouthed excuses offered up just aren't cutting it.
It looks as if Iran has found allies in its quest to wipe Israel off the map -- the dopes at your friendly neighborhood Target store.

On sale exclusively at Target is this innocent-looking toy globe. Thousands of these trinkets have already moved out of malls, from Queens to Honolulu, and landed in living rooms and kids' rooms across America.

But folks who forked over a buck for the miniature worlds got less than they bargained for.

These planetary models contain just about all the countries on Earth -- from France to China, Singapore to Spain. But there's one glaring exception:

Israel.

In the spot where Israel should be, this word is printed: "Palestine." Some of those who unwittingly purchased the Israel-free orbs feel as if they've played a role in a modern-day Final Solution.

"They're teaching kids there is no Israel, only Palestine," said Rabbi Gary Moskowitz, who bought a globe at the Queens Center Mall for his 5-year-old daughter. "This encourages terrorism. This foments hatred."

Bob Kunst learned of the globe's omission when a friend's 12-year-old daughter in Florida asked innocently, "Where's Israel?"

"The very people who deny Israel's existence also deny the Holocaust," he said.

After receiving complaints, Target, which sold the globes for several weeks, finally responded. On Sunday, it began yanking the globes from its 1,744 stores in 49 states (Vermont is Target-free), and destroying them. We hope.

"We didn't want to offend any of our guests," said Amy Reilly of Target customer relations, who initially said the omission of Israel was due to lack of space on the item. (Isn't "Palestine" a longer word?)
Homina homina. Uh, Ms. Reilly, these people aren't your guests. They're your customers. Might want to get your story straight before they leave and never return.
Devrian Global Industries of New Jersey, which imported "tens of thousands" of globes from China, apologized. "Obviously, it was a mistake. We obviously offended some people. Now we're pulling them off the shelves," said chief merchandising officer Larry Fine. No estimate on how many were sold.
Larry Fine? Wow, they really are a bunch of stooges at Target.

Muslim 'Chaplain' Caught Smuggling Boxcutters Into NYC Jail

I didn't realize boxcutter-smuggling Muslims were known as chaplains, but we'll play along. An interesting sidenote here seems to be this is likely the same guy who also did a 14-year stretch for murder.
A Muslim chaplain for the city Department of Correction was arrested this morning for allegedly trying to smuggle in three box-cutter blades and a pair of scissors to a lower Manhattan jail, The Post has learned.

The chaplain, Zul-Qarnain Shahid, has worked as a DOC jail chaplain for the past three years, department sources said.

Several sources said Shahid was caught this morning attempting to bring the three triangle-shaped utility blades, often used for box cutters, into the jail known as the Tombs during a visit there. It was not known why the Muslim cleric, who has the title imam, was visiting the jail.

A DOC spokesman had no immediate comment.

The city's Department of Investigation said, "This arrest demonstrates the serious consequences of bringing in contraband to the city’s correctional facilities. Thanks to the immediate action of a DOC officer this potentially dangerous situation was disarmed.”

According to New York State Corrections Department records, a now-58-year-old man with the same name as Shahid was sentenced to 15-years-to-life in prison for second-degree murder and first-degree robbery in 1979. That man was paroled in 1993 after serving nearly 14 years, and remained on parole until August 2001.
Funny enough, the Zul-Qarnain Shahid arrested today is also 58 years old.

Slow News Day: Comment Limbaugh Has Been Making for 20 Years Now Big News

You would think the, excuse the phrase, f--king retards at Media Matters would know this. They hang on Rush Limbaugh's every word, and usualy twist most of them. But this comment he made to Gretchen Carlson today dates back at least 20 years. But since the f--king retards at the New York Daily News regurgitate everything the little fascist pukes churn out, it's somehow news.
After a career spent battling the feminist movement, Rush Limbaugh took to the air today declaring, "I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it."

The conservative firebrand appearing on "Fox and Friends," defended his participation as a judge in last week's Miss America pageant.

"So for those who were critics of you in judging this pageant, and saying that you haven’t been a supporter of women in the past?" host Gretchen Carlson, the winner of 1989's Miss America pageant, asked.

"Oh, I’m a huge supporter of women. What I’m not a supporter of is liberalism. Feminism is what I oppose, and feminism has led women astray. I love women. I don’t know where all this got started," Limbaugh replied.

"I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it. This idea that I don’t like women is absurd. This is Miss America. And if there’s a Mr. America out there, it’s me."
Ever since the black Miss Virginia won the pageant there's been a virtual media blackout. Media Matters and their stooges were so desperate to make Limbaugh look bad they were left speechless with the results. And they make no mention he had the winner on his program yesterday. If he was the racist, sexit bigot they they portray him as, why would she have appeared on his program?

To take this comment he used today, one he's been uttering for decades, shows George Soros isn't getting much in return from his twits at Media Matters.

Have a look at this quote from Limbaugh's 1992 bestseller, The Way Things Ought To Be:
"Let me leave you with a thought that most honestly summarizes my sentiments: I love the women's movement...especially when I am walking behind it." -- P.145
Another towering intellect feigns indignation. Other reaction here. Rahm Emanuel was right: They really are f--king retarded.

Edwards: From Cheater to Wife Beater

I always took John Edwards as way too dainty and delicate to raise his hand to a woman, let alone a man. But lately we've found out what an absolute piece of human garbage he is, so I tend to believe this story.
Disgraced former presidential candidate John Edwards reportedly beat his cancer-stricken wife during a horrific marriage-ending fight.

"John lost his temper big time," a close friend of Elizabeth's revealed to the National Enquirer. "She has the divorce papers drawn up, but she can amend them to charge John with domestic violence."

The couple's furious confrontation was the "final straw" in Elizabeth's decision to end their 32-year marriage after it was revealed that he had fathered a child out of wedlock with his ex-mistress Rielle Hunter, the newspaper revealed today in a bombshell report on its Web site.

"When [John] made the decision to hit me, it was over,"
a friend said Elizabeth told her.

Last month, Edwards finally admitted that he had fathered Hunter's 2-year-old daughter Frances.

Another friend revealed that Elizabeth sometimes also phycially [sic] attacked her husband when talking about his affair with Hunter.

"She was so tormented by John's cheating and lies that she lashed out physically at him many times, even slapping him," said a friend. "On a couple of occasions, when the fights became heated, she grabbed him by the shoulders and screamed, 'Why, why, why?!'
Any casual observer of the scene knew what a greaseball Edwards was when he first ran for office, an ambulance-chasing fantasist who was able to con jurors and then gullible voters. The media pretended never to notice since he was a Democrat, one of them. Now the entirety of the Washington press corps sits there wondering "Gee, if I had a shred of decency, I could have exposed this guy and made a bundle," but they sold their souls to the Democratic Party, so too damn bad for them.

Edwards should forever be shunned, but there'll always be an outlet of gullible dupes there for him. Kind of like MSNBC. The people watching know it's nonsense, but they can't shake their thirst for the Kool-aid.

Edwards was right in one instance: There are two Americas. One is where men are decent human beings, respect their marriage vows and don't hit women. Then there's the dark, seamy underbelly occupied by scumbags like Edwards.

Fox News Continues To Be Ratings Giant

There are new numbers out for cable shows, not just cable news mind you, but all cable shows, and it is just more bad news for the White House communications office and liberals everywhere.

The good news is one of my favorite shows "Burn Notice" comes in at number 8. Just for the record I think the USA network owns the 10 PM time slot. On Tuesdays it is "White Collar", Wednesdays, "Psych" and on Thursdays "Burn Notice".

1. NFL Football: Pro Bowl (Sunday, 7:22 p.m.), ESPN, 8.12 million homes, 12.29 million viewers.

2. "State of the Union Analysis" (Wednesday, 10:21 p.m.), Fox News Channel, 4.74 million homes, 6.61 million viewers.

3. "State of the Union Response" (Wednesday, 10:30 p.m.), Fox News Channel, 4.61 million homes, 6.38 million viewers.

4. "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren" (Wednesday, 10:43 p.m.), Fox News Channel, 4.22 million homes, 5.8 million viewers.

5. "State of the Union" (Wednesday, 9:11 p.m.), Fox News Channel, 4.08 million homes, 5.74 million viewers.

6. "NCIS" (Wednesday, 9 p.m.), USA, 4.07 million homes, 5.32 million viewers.

7. "NCIS" (Wednesday, 8 p.m.), USA, 3.94 million homes, 5.31 million viewers.

8. "Burn Notice" (Thursday, 10 p.m.), USA, 3.87 million homes, 5.3 million viewers.

9. "State of the Union Analysis" (Wednesday, 9 p.m.), Fox News Channel, 3.73 million homes, 5.07 million viewers.

10. "WWE Raw" (Monday, 10 p.m.), USA, 3.58 million homes, 5.2 million viewers.

11. "The O'Reilly Factor" (Thursday, 8 p.m.), 3.51 million homes, 4.79 million viewers.

12. "WWE Raw" (Monday, 9 p.m.), USA, 3.5 million homes, 5.06 million viewers.

13. "ICarly" (Friday, 8 p.m.), Nickelodeon, 3.49 million homes, 5.15 million viewers.

14. "NCIS" (Monday, 8 p.m.), USA, 3.39 million homes, 4.63 million viewers.

15. "NCIS" (Thursday, 7 p.m.), USA, 3.36 million homes, 4.37 million viewers.

Yeah, yeah, I know I need to get a life.

Now I wonder how "The Sons of Anarchy" would stack up against this group.

Dems Pushing Constitutional Amendment To Overturn The First Amendment

The progressives in the congress are in high dander over the recent Supreme Court ruling that struck down portions of the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Law. It really was a matter of free speech and not corporate financing like the progressives are trying to paint it. I knew when I saw the extension on the web address, i.e., the dot org rather then the traditional dot com, that this was a far left liberal site. That is one of the surest signs of a liberal site, just like the media not mentioning a party affiliation in the reporting of a scandal automatically triggers a intuitive guess that it involves a Democrat.

Well they have taken the next illogical step, mainly proposing a constitutional amendment to repeal the First Amendment. The amendment is being cosponsored by Donna Edwards (D-MD) and John Conyers (D-MI) among others.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

John Kerry, fearing for his Senate seat maybe, and making an appeal to the far left in his party went even a little further.
I think we need a constitutional amendment to make it clear once and for all that corporations do not have the same free speech rights as individuals.

So who is it that contributes to Ms Edwards Campaign? The usual suspects, unions and SEIU in particular.

As for John Conyers, well he doesn't seem to have a problem taking campaign donations from some of those evil corporations. Among the list of contributors to his campaign are Microsoft and Comcast.

Don't you just love the hypocrisy?

Open Secrets has modified their page which displays the biggest contributors to political campaigns. They removed the name of who it is that receives the most from the various industries.

Guess it is a good thing I got a screen shot, huh?

Uh Oh: Another 824,000 Jobs to Disappear Friday

Well, actually they've disappeared already. Just seems the Labor Department has been fudging the numbers.

Transparency!
The U.S. may lose 824,000 jobs when the government releases its annual revision to employment data on Feb. 5, showing the labor market was in worse shape during the recession than known at the time.
According to the interactive chart, figures will be revised for the period of April 2008 to March 2009, so they can still blame Bush, which you know they will surely do.

I wonder how this will affect those nonexistent jobs Obama has saved or created?

Obama Laments "If You Lose, I Win" Mentality; 2009 Flashback: "I Won"

My, how times change. The whiny president today sniveled about Republicans being obstructionist, even though they can't prevent him and the Democrats from doing a damn thing. They just want a few GOP suckers to go along with their risky schemes so they can claim it's bipartisan. This quote really stood out.
I'm "not open to switches" solely "because it's good short-term politics," he said. I won't tolerate an "if you lose, I win" mentality.
Well, isn't that interesting. Let's go back to January 2009.
The top congressional leaders from both parties gathered at the White House for a working discussion over the shape and size of President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus plan. The meeting was designed to promote bipartisanship.

But Obama showed that in an ideological debate, he’s not averse to using a jab.

Challenged by one Republican senator over the contents of the package, the new president, according to participants, replied: “I won.”
So last year when he wanted bipartisanship he rubbed it in the face of the GOP. Now he wonder why there's no bipartisanship.

Hypocrite.

'I Don't Think My Husband is That Interesting'

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I finally agree with Michelle Obama. Her husband isn't that interesting. Neither is she for that matter, she admits.
Obama also said she was surprised by the continuing media fascination with the first couple. "I don't think I'm that interesting," she said. "I don't think my husband is that interesting."
In that case, maybe she and her husband can get out of our faces for a couple of days.

LIAR!

Senate Republicans, he said, have employed the filibuster more over the past year than in all of the 1950s and 1960s combined. The GOP's strategy has been "twenty years of obstruction packed into one," he said.
The fact is there has not been one single filibuster in 2009 by the Republicans or anybody else for that matter, rather there has been the threat of a filibuster.

Big difference. In reality what the Democrats are whining about is a Senate rule imposed in 1975 which stated that to cut off debate on an issue you needed 60 votes for what is called cloture.
The history here is well known to everyone interested in politics but worth summarizing. For most of the first 190 years of the country's operation, U.S. Senators would, in unusual circumstances, try to delay a vote on measures they opposed by "filibustering" -- talking without limit or using other stalling techniques. For most of those years, the Senate could cut off the filibuster and force a vote by imposing "cloture," which took a two-thirds majority of those voting (at most 67 of 100 Senators). In 1975, the Senate adopted a rules change to allow cloture with 60 votes, and those are the rules that still prevail.
The Republicans have made the Dems invoke the cloture clause numerous times, but that is far different then a filibuster, and I would think the former City of Chicago Constitutional Law Professor would know that.

For somebody who wants to work with the Republicans he really has gone on a scorched earth strategy this week. What remains to be seen is how much of his attacking the Republicans sticks with the average American, and how much of it winds up being anger at the guy who won the game and still wants to whine about how the other team played. Americans used to hate whiners and we would shun them. Maybe in our kinder and gentler 21st century world citizens will feel the need to give him some sort cosmic group hug to make the boo-boo go away like his mommy used to do.

The cloture rules now used were introduced and pushed by Sen Robert Byrd. In 2003 then Sen. Frist proposed amending the rule so that a measure could continue to be reintroduced and each subsequent vote the number votes needed to invoke cloture would be reduced, never to fall below the 51 vote threshold however. Of course the Dems proving once again that they were smarter then everybody else, just like they did in Massachusetts in regards to electing senators in special elections, and being the party of no at the time defeated the measure.
Under the procedure proposed by Senator Frist, as with current practice, the first cloture petition filed on a nomination would need the votes of 60 Senators for cloture to be invoked. If 60 Senators did not vote for cloture, a second petition could then be submitted. When the Senate voted on that petition, just 57 Senators would be required to invoke cloture. On the third petition, the required vote would fall to 54 Senators, and on a fourth petition the votes of 51 Senators would invoke cloture. The cloture threshold would never drop below a majority vote of the full Senate.
Leading the charge against the Frist amendment were Sen. Chris Dodd and the late Ted Kennedy.

In 1975, when Robert Byrd got the current rule adopted, Gerald Ford was president, the Democrats controlled both houses of congress, (291 seats in the House and 61 seats in the Senate) just like today, and just like today many of those same people are still in congress.

So Barry, there is your history lesson for today, and for the rest of the news folks, how about a little research before you just willy nilly regurgitate the White House talking points.

BTW, there is a reason he didn't compare it to the 70's and 80's.

Judicial Watch Sues FBI Over Megrahi Files

Seems like this is newsworthy here in the states, but nobody in the media seems the least bit interested.
The FBI is being taken to court in the US over its refusal to release documents relating to the release of the Libyan convicted of the Lockerbie bombing.

Judicial Watch, a conservative pressure group that campaigns for transparency, fights government corruption and was opposed to the early release of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi last August, has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) suit in the US to obtain important papers relating to the decision to allow him to return to Libya.

The watchdog said it wanted to shed light on what role, if any, the US had in his release.

It made the request in September 10, 2009 and says that, by law, the FBI was required to respond by October 8. However, the group said that the FBI, while acknowledging receipt of the request, provide neither documents nor any explanation as to why they had been withheld.

Legal documents lodged with the US District Court for the District of Columbia claim the FBI “violated the FOIA by failing to produce any and all non-exempt records”.

The news comes after The Herald revealed that vital documents in Britain relating to the Lockerbie conviction may never see the light of day.
Curiously the reason given in the UK was this maggot had less than three months to live.

That was nearly six months ago. Probably the only ones surprised by this are the pinheads who released him.
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said: “Not only was the decision to release Megrahi from prison an affront to justice and an insult to the families of the victims of the Pan Am tragedy, but it also served to rally terrorists around the world.

“And given the fact that most of the people on board that flight were Americans, we deserve to know what the US Government knew about this horrible decision to release a known terrorist from prison.

“The FBI has an obligation to the American people and the victims’ families to release all relevant documents as soon as possible.

“Frankly, given its lackadaisical and ideological approach to the terrorist threat, I’m concerned the Obama administration did not do enough to prevent this terrorist’s release.”

Good Walls Make Good Neighbors

"We have started construction along our borders not to appease anyone but to protect our nation from terrorist plots..."
No, those words were not spoken by Janet Nincompoop or any living Democrat in Congress. Instead those are the words of President Mubarak of Egypt in response to their plans to further security on their Gazan border and to further restrict the smuggling of arms by the Bedouin tribes to the Palestinians.

These are not the Bedouins of Hollywood. These are simply Middle Eastern arms dealers whose services are sold to the highest bidder. They don't ride across the desert on camels, but rather in 4 wheel drive all terrain vehicles bristling with armament.

Recently they are starting to have a lot of heartburn with Egypt who is cracking down on the smuggling taking place across the border with Gaza. The Egyptians concerns are well founded since these arms find their way into the arms of the terrorists, who don't care who they attack, just so long as they kill something to justify their existence and manage to blame it on Israel.
"If a war ever happens between Egypt and Israel, you'll find us taking up arms against the Egyptians," adds another smuggler, Ibrahim. The others concur.
Most pop culture media try to portray these Bedouins as some sort of Robin Hoods of the desert, but that is just their attempt to romanticize the notion of wandering caravans of camels traversing vast expanses of the desert eking out a living.
"We like Israel more [than Egypt] because there's justice," says Ibrahim, a young cement smuggler. "If you are a person living inside Israel, you live better than you would in Egypt, without any smuggling," he says. "They don't let you just sit on the street ... And Israel would never arrest your wife and father if you are the one wanted by the state."

Heartbreak: Massive Job Cuts at CBS News

I blame Dan Rather and Mary Mapes for this. Five years after their perfidy the ill effects are still being felt by CBS. The news organization lost all credibility and has just never recovered.
By Monday afternoon, staffers from Washington to L.A. were sputtering in disbelief as they heard of top producers on the chopping block—particularly Mark Katkov and Jill Rosenbaum in D.C. and Roberta Hollander and Barbara Pierce in L.A. These were seasoned veterans, part of the old school known back in the Dan Rather days as “the Hard Corps.” Over the years, they had somehow managed to outlive every big buzz saw to cut through the newsroom. They knew how to get more from less. Each thought of himself as worth five producers at ABC News. Their theme song was Merle Haggard’s “Holding Things Together.” It was hard to imagine what the already third-place morning and evening news operations would look like without them.

The most disturbing news of the day for many observers was that Larry Doyle would no longer be working for CBS News.

Mr. Doyle, according to CBS News legend, joined the organization some 40 years ago, when then D.C. bureau chief Bill Small found him working as a porter at a Washington hotel. Mr. Small promptly made Mr. Doyle the bureau’s go-to “dogrobber”—the guy you sent into nasty situations to stare down snarling subjects and get the job done. From there, Mr. Doyle gradually worked his way up the news ladder, eventually becoming the network’s top war producer, churning out great television from every hellhole on the planet—including Baghdad, where he served as the network’s bureau chief during the early years of the ongoing war.

Reached the afternoon of Tuesday, Feb. 2, Dan Rather recounted various stories of Mr. Doyle’s heroism in the field, including his impressive management of gun-toting teenagers in Somalia. “He’s one of the all-time greats,” said Mr. Rather. “He’s the soul of the place.”
Maybe Rather can help support him with his many millions.

Or maybe the grossly overpaid Katie Couric can.
CBSNEWS anchorwoman and 60 MINUTES contributor Katie Couric faces a dramatic pay cut at the network, insiders tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

CBS boss Les Moonves is determined to save money and trim expenses -- from top to bottom -- at the former crown jewel of broadcasting.

Couric, the highest paid TV news personality in history, commands over $14 million a year, plus bumps for non-EVENING NEWS appearances.

But her salary is now in the direct line of fire, network insiders explain, and a populist backlash against Couric's cash is said to be forming inside the newsroom.

"She makes enough to pay 200 news reporters $75,000 a year!" demands a veteran producer. "It's complete insanity."

The angry source continues: "We report with great enthusiasm how much bankers are making, how it is out of step with reality during a recession. We'll, look at Katie!"

Couric's $300,000 a week paycheck has become the obsession of disgruntled CBS staff, just as deep layoffs rock the fishbowl.

W.O.R.D. UP! Story Time With Reverend Al

Pity these poor kids.
Move over, Barney and Big Bird. It's story time with the Rev. Al Sharpton.

The frequently fiery civil rights activist will tone it down to warm and fuzzy this Saturday when he reads to kids at the Brooklyn Children's Museum.

"With all of the protest and bombast, the underbelly is that I'm sensitive and care about these kids," Sharpton said.

"If I can impress upon just one kid that you can become something in life, but you've got to start now and develop habits like reading, then it's worth me doing it."

Sharpton's appearance will kick off a new reading series at the museum called "W.O.R.D. UP! Words of Real Distinction" that will invite high profile community members to read to children.
Nothing like bringing in a slimy racist goon to read to kids. Maybe David Duke will be next.

You Mean We're on TV?

Video from Australia, where while the interview is about an "expected rise" in interest rates a worker in the background is checking out nude photos of Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr, no doubt getting a rise himself.

Check out the guy to the right and pay attention to his monitor. Then his ultimate reaction when he realize he's on TV.
WHO cares about interest rate updates when there are naked women to browse at Macquarie Bank?

One red-faced employee of the “billionaire factory” will be asked to answer that question by his bosses today after being busted scrolling through R-rated images on his computer while workmate Martin Lakos crossed live to Channel 7's Chris Bath.

As Lakos studiously detailed the Reserve Bank's rates decision, hold interest rates at 3.75 per cent yesterday, over his shoulder a colleague was seen opening saucy photos as the cameras roll.

And just to make sure the audience got a good look at just who was viewing the soft porn, the banker turned to look down the lens just as Lakos threw back to the studio.

A Seven spokesman confirmed the station received calls of complaint from viewers, deferring the matter to the bank.

Obama Now Bowing to Random White House Guests

I realize he's got a thing for bowing to foreign leaders and the mayors of midsize cities, but this is getting ridiculous.

OK you twits at Media Matters, don't wet yourselves, it's just a gag. This photo and others will soon be part of a gallery exhibit for the three of you out there are aren't completely sick of the guy.
A year in the life of phenomenally photogenic President Barack Obama will be on display starting Friday at the NYPL's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem. The exhibit exclusively features 77 photos by Chief Official White House Photographer Pete Souza, beginning with the festive inaugural ball evening on January 20, 2009 and moves through the next 364 days. Many of these photos are on view to the public on the White House Flickr page, but if you want to rekindle your Ohhhhbama love with full size prints, now's the time!
I'm sure all proceeds with go to Obama's favorite charity: Himself.

Seems this line was almost written tongue in cheek:
"This administration has been far and away the most open about making behind-the-scenes photographs available right away to the public...
Sure, no public healthcare meetings, but they rush to get photos of this megalomaniac out there as soon as possible.

Murtha in Intensive Care, Political Future Murky

This could surely be the perfect excuse for Democrats to ease the corrupt John Murtha out of the way.
Rep. John Murtha is now in a Virginia hospital's intensive care unit after unexpected complications from gallbladder surgery last week, his spokesman confirmed this morning.

Murtha, 77, had been suffering from gallbladder pain and problems in December and arranged to have the organ removed last week at Bethesda Naval Hospital. A spokesman for the Pennsylvania Democrat declined to discuss the seriousness of the situation that sent Murtha back to another hospital's intensive care unit.

"Congressman Murtha underwent a scheduled laparoscopic surgery to remove his gallbladder last week," his spokesman Matt Mazonkey said. "Complications did arise from the surgery and he is currently at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington."
While politically safe in his Pennsylvania seat, Murtha nationally is seen as a symbol of the old guard Democrat pork monsters, hugely unpopular these days and, along with Charles Rangel and Nancy Pelosi, lightning rods of greed and unethical behavior so rampant in Congress during the past several years. Still while seemingly unbeatable in is own seat, a number of Pennsylvania seats are up for grabs this fall.
Without Murtha seeking re-election, however, the district would be extremely competitive. In 2008, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) carried it by less than 1,000 votes (out of more than 260,000 cast) while Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) won the 12th by a narrow 51 percent to 49 percent margin four years earlier. The trend line in the district is not moving in the right direction for Democrats, however, as the Vice President Al Gore carried Murtha's seat with 55 percent in 2000.

Republicans believe Pennsylvania is shaping up as very friendly territory for them. The party has united behind state Attorney General Tom Corbett in the governor's race and former Rep. Pat Toomey in the Senate contest. On the House side, Republicans see Pennsylvania's 4th, 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th districts as potential pickup opportunities. Democrats see the 6th and 15th districts are chances for them to gain Republican-held seats in the fall.

Teachers Get Stimulated, Nobody Else Gets A Tingle

The jobs numbers from Georgia that were supposedly saved, created, or imagined as a result of the stimulus money they received is exactly what the mayors were complaining about at their recent convention.

Of the 24,103 jobs supposedly created, 20,007 of them were government related.
State government agencies accounted for $457.4 million of Georgia’s stimulus funds during the quarter and 20,007 of the jobs, mostly for teachers, college professors, police officers and other public positions.
The stimulus has done nothing to inspire private sector job creation nor has it done anything to improve our economic situation.

The Dems are too busy however, blaming all of this on Bush while conveniently ignoring the fact that a) They controlled the House of Representatives for the last two years of the Bush presidency and b) merely throwing money at something doesn't make it better; in fact it may make it worse.

The other big cause for outrage, at least here in Georgia anyway, is the fact that while school administrators got big pay raises thanks to the funds, the average teacher got little.

I am pretty sure the story is likely the same elsewhere in the country.

Barry O and The Seven Republicans

Once again today, Barry O decided to show just how bipartisan he is by making mention of seven Republican senators who at one time endorsed a deficit cutting commission, but then ultimately voted against it.

He made these comments in New Hampshire at a speech that was supposed to be about jobs, but seems like it was nothing more then another campaign stump speech by candidate Obama.

While he will get the soundbite on the evening news about those evil Republicans, the truth is this whole commission was a not so carefully crafted trap by the Democrats in an attempt to give them some political coverage in upcoming mid term massacre that they see on the horizon.
Democrats are candid, at least in private, about the kind of the deal they have mind this time around. Democrats would agree to means-test entitlements, which means that middle and upper-middle class (i.e., GOP) voters would get less than they were promised in return for a lifetime of payroll taxes. Democrats would also agree to cut appropriations by two or three percentage points and live under pay-as-you-go budget rules—the same rules Democrats promised to live by in 2006 but have since violated routinely.

In return, Republicans would agree to an increase in the top income tax rate to as high as 49% and in addition to a new energy tax, a stock transaction tax, or value-added tax. The Indians got a better deal for selling Manhattan.
For somebody who is whining about not getting any support from the Republicans he sure is doing his best to continue antagonizing them. Making petty comments like this makes him sound like the losing coach in the Super Bowl blaming the ball boy for not getting the ball into play quick enough.

Barry, it is time to man up, and if your guy from Vegas can't get it done then gripe at him and quit blaming the opposition. Maybe if the Democrats would quit trying to scam everybody they could restore a little faith in their negotiations.

The fact is the Dems are so full of half-truths and outright lies that only a fool would take them at their word. It means nothing since if the last year has taught us only one thing, it is that their vote is sold to the highest bidder, and they will say anything and do anything to hold onto their taxpayer-funded government job.

OK, I don't know how many more times this video can be used, but this is still pretty good.

Under Pressure From Palin, Rahm Emanuel Apologizes for Calling Liberals Retarded

That Rahm Emanuel is a real class act. His boss must be so proud.
White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel apologized to the head of the Special Olympics today after the Wall Street Journal reported the fiery Chicagoan privately called a group of liberal activists "f---ing retarded."

Last August, Emanuel "showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides," the Journal's Peter Wallsten reported. "Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul. 'F—ing retarded,' Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants. He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items."

A White House official confirms that Emanuel made the remark and reports that Emanuel called Tim Shriver last week when the Journal story first appeared to apologize to the disabled community and the apology was accepted.
Of course Emanuel's mealy-mouthed apology never would haev happened unless Sarah Palin mentioned it.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is calling on the White House to fire Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for using the word "retarded" in a recent strategy session.

In a posting on her Facebook page Monday, Palin blasted Emanuel for calling an idea from some of President Obama's supporters "f---ing retarded" during an August meeting with liberal groups and White House aides.

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Emanuel made the remarks after some participants said they planned to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were critical of Obama's health care agenda.

Palin, whose youngest child, Trig, has Down Syndrome, wrote that Emanuel's expletive was "heartbreaking" and said his "degrading scolding" has been "completely ignored by the White House."

"Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the "N-word" or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities -- and the people who love them -- is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking," wrote Palin.

"Rahm is known for his caustic, crude references about those with whom he disagrees, but his recent tirade against participants in a strategy session was such a strong slap in many American faces that our president is doing himself a disservice by seeming to condone Rahm’s recent sick and offensive tactic," she continued.
Considering how Emanuel refers to those of his own party one can only wonder what he says about conservatives.

State-Controlled Reuters Pulls Story on Obama's Massive Tax Hikes

When the ugly truth is reported about Obama's massive tax increases ready to crush the middle class the White House spares no energy in pressuring Reuters into pulling the story.
The news service Reuters withdrew a story last night titled "Backdoor taxes to hit middle class" after the White House reached out and pointed out "errors of fact."

The story, which claimed the White House's deficit reduction plan relies on raising taxes against the middle class by allowing tax cuts to expire, was withdrawn at about 8 p.m. Monday, according to Yahoo timestamps. The original story ran at 4 p.m. The withdrawal promises a replacement story later this week.

"The story went out, and it shouldn't have gone out," said Courtney Dolan, a spokeswoman for Reuters. "It had significant errors of fact."

She would not elaborate on the specific errors, but said Reuters will "address those specific points that were incorrect."

"The White House did contact us and point out errors of fact," she added.
So if there are errors, how come the White House has no comment?

Apparently, the White House thugs haven't gotten to the folks in Canada.

I don't understand why Obama is so upset with Reuters. It's not as if they mentioned the $4 billion in his budget going to the criminal enterprise known as ACORN.

Vote Matt Burden

I didn't realize today was the day that Illinois was holding their elections. Matt Burden, better known as Blackfive, is running for the state representative in the 41st district.

Best of luck Matt and if you are in his district, get out and vote.

Yesterday the good folks from the Westboro Baptist Church, for reasons only known to them in their fevered little deranged minds, decided to protest the headquarters of Twitter.

Things didn't go exactly has planned however, since they were greeted by a contingent of counter protestors. If nothing else you have to admire the originality of the counter protests signs.

CNN Screws The Pooch, Again

CNN screws the pooch again! The network has a long track record of working against the U.S. military by publishing stories and supposed investigative pieces on weapons and tactics that wind up being detrimental to those who serve.

The military has long treated CNN as a quasi-propaganda and spy agency for the enemies of this country since at least Desert Storm, when we used the useless fools to feed false information to Saddam Hussein. We knew that they couldn't wait to breathlessly report on our troop movements and to pontificate on how the opening phases of our war to liberate Kuwait would go. Gen Scwarzkopf was smart enough to realize this and fed them just what he wanted the Iraqis to know. His staff would then monitor the broadcasts to make sure the useful idiots did their job. CNN would not have done it on their own so they had to be made to feel that they had the inside track.

It is something I don't think the folks at CNN have ever gotten over.

Well, after doing this for years to the U.S. military they have decided to do the same to the Iraqi security forces, and in the process endanger the lives of the young women who are taking the extraordinary step of joining the Iraqi security forces to protect the citizens of the country.

What has my underwear in a bunch? This:
Though the women marched, drilled and learned the basics of handling a gun, they asked that a news crew obscure their faces on television and otherwise not reveal their identities.
So what does CNN do? They publish a full frontal picture of the women in training clearly showing their faces.

Saying "oops, sorry about that" to the family of someone who suffers because of your irresponsible reporting just doesn't quite cut it. "My bad" is not going to replace the life of someone who loses theirs trying to achieve something far greater then anything you will ever accomplish in some afternoon editorial board meeting.

And no, CNN will never express any regrets about anybody they knowingly cause harm to, just like they didn't when they told terrorist snipers where to aim to defeat our body armor or where the weak spots were on our vehicles.

Nine-Year-Old Gives Birth in China

Sick stuff, needless to say.
A nine-year-old Chinese schoolgirl has become one of the world's youngest mothers after giving birth to a healthy boy.

The unnamed girl was brought to a hospital in Changchun, which lies in the north-east of the country, when she was eight and a half months pregnant.

Two days later, she gave birth to the 6lb boy by Caesarean section, a Chinese newspaper has reported.

The child comes from the nearby town of Songyuan. Her family refused to discuss the pregnancy, but confirmed they had reported it to the police.

Last night police were reportedly trying to establish who the father is.

In the province, sex with a child under the age of 14 brings an automatic rape conviction and a lengthy jail sentence.
I suspect this baby daddy won't ever be heard from again.

Ready for More Palin Derangement Syndrome?

Wait until the Palin haters see this. Now the woman who haunts the angry left can be found at newsstands and convenience stores nationwide.
One of the things Sarah Palin has sought to do since stepping down from the governor's office in Alaska is seize control of her image. So it is perhaps a sign of how difficult a task that remains for the GOP's former vice presidential nominee that a new single-issue magazine has hit newsstands and convenience stores around the country. It claims to present "Sarah Palin: The Untold Story...in her own words!" -- and it was produced, according to its publisher, without her knowledge or participation.

Retailing for $8.99, the 100-page glossy magazine, titled "Sarah Palin: Faith, Family, Freedom," hit newsstands in mid-January and was jointly published by a fashion-publishing subsidiary of international marketing firm IMG and Imagine That Publishing. It will remain on sale through April 30.

"The genesis of it was really simple," said Steve LeGrice, the publisher and editor of Imagine That. "We're up here in New York, and there was clearly this huge enthusiasm for Sarah Palin, and at the same time all the people in the media world were sitting around scratching their heads" about how people could support her.

"What we decided to do is put out a magazine all in her own words," he said -- a magazine "without any opinion or anything added in."

"This is an independent project," said LeGrice, who has never met Palin but says he "would very much like" to. "We are not endorsed by her at all."

LeGrice knows a market when he sees one -- in 2002, the publishing veteran was a founding editor of In Touch magazine, a supermarket celebrity-and-gossip competitor to US Weekly, and he has a long history in mass-market media. IMG and Imagine That Publishing have previously collaborated on single-issue magazines on topics as diverse as Michael Jackson, Michelle Obama's style and the stars of the Twilight saga's "New Moon," he said.

The Palin issue contains what LeGrice said are family pictures of Palin not previously published by a magazine -- including her as a child with her siblings and a dead bear bleeding over a stump; picking through shot white birds; holding a cardboard box of fish freshly caught at an ice hole; and with moose antlers still attached to a fragment of bloody skull.

It also shows her as cute and chubby little girl with glasses, the lone brunette among three blond and sandy-haired siblings.

"I want people to know what I stand for and judge me on that ... read in my own words who I am. Don't believe the things that are made up," the magazine quotes Palin as saying.

LeGrice said the childhood and family photos were obtained from private sources by a photo editor. A spokeswoman for Palin declined to comment.

The volume's print run is "in the hundreds of thousands" and "a substantial number," LeGrice said -- and it has been selling well.
The nuts are already filling up the comments at the WaPo.
$8.99 for a magazine all about Sarah Palin? Seriously?

I still think Sarah Palin wants to be a cult leader. Kind of Hitler-esque for her to think she's got all the answers to the world's problems. . . .She can't even solve the problems in her own family!!!

Fourth Grade Fight Club

Need another reason to home school your children? Well, have a look at what went on in a Queens, NY, elementary school. Naturally the "teacher" who presided over this atrocity can't be fired because of his cushy union protection. He may need a lot more than union protection once this story circulates.
The first rule of fourth grade - no talking about fight club.

A Queens teacher turned his classroom into a boxing arena for two feuding students, telling the boys to settle their beef with their fists as their stunned classmates watched the bizarre spectacle, authorities said yesterday.

And to make sure no one found out his twisted teaching technique, the instructor, Joseph Gullotta, 29, allegedly supplied the kids with excuses for the nurse to explain away any injuries.

In one corner was a 10-year-old. His opponent was a year younger. The Post is withholding the kids' names.

Before beginning the match at the impromptu fight club at PS 65 in Ozone Park, Gullotta instructed a girl to close the classroom door. He ordered the rest of his pupils to back up and make way for the battle, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

The two combatants came out swinging and then began wrestling.

During the bout, the older boy's head rammed into the younger one's mouth. The younger boy suffered a cut lip; the older one, a bruised head.

"When two fourth-graders became involved in a verbal dispute, their teacher allegedly told one of the students that he should 'take it out' on another student," Brown said.

"When parents send their children off to school, their teachers have an obligation to provide a safe environment for them."

Teacher's aide Abraham Fox, 43, was in the classroom during the clash, but did nothing to break it up, the DA charged.

Neither student was offered a visit to the school nurse, despite Fox's observation that the 9-year-old might need stitches, Brown said.

Then out came the schoolbooks for two periods of more traditional instruction before Gullotta finally allowed the younger boy to visit the nurse.
These two were actually charged with crimes but not yet dismissed.
Gullotta and Fox were charged with two counts each of acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 and could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

Fox was suspended without pay; Gullotta was reassigned to a rubber room.

People answering the door at the Long Island homes of Fox and Gullotta declined to comment.
You can have one outrage after another at these NYC public schools and despite repeated failures the unions and others go out of their ways to keep the status quo.
You'd think the NAACP would be leading a fight for better schools for these kids. Instead, it's teamed up with the teachers -- at the students' expense. It claims the closures discriminate against minority and special-needs kids.

Only the NAACP knows its true reasons for joining the suit, but perhaps UFT payments it got over the years had something to do with it: In its latest US Labor Department filing, for instance, the union reported funneling some $15,000 to the NAACP through July 31, 2009.

It's heartbreaking that so many minority and other kids have endured such abysmal schools for so long -- and sad indeed to see a group like the NAACP join a move to keep them there.
Yet anyone who complains is called racist.

'I’m Breaking Through Sexual Segregation'

'I'm Not a Hooker'

Admit it ladies, the idea of spending $300 a hour for a steamy interlude with this Kos lookalike is just too much to resist.
Over the next two hours, Markus shares his personal bits, too. Originally from Hatton, Ala., he felt abandoned by his mother after his parents divorced at an early age. (This is why, he says, he got into male prostitution, to find the intimacy that he lacked.)

In addition to comparing himself to civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks (“I’m breaking through sexual segregation”), he also identifies with Lady Gaga (“I’m a performer”), van Gogh (“I’m an artist”) and Moby (“I’m an eccentric”).
Seriously, tell me this freak doesn't look like another freak.

He tells me that if you can “pronunciate” words well, it means you are great at pleasuring a woman.

He’s half Irish, a quarter Native American, a quarter Scandinavian and all lover. Favorite book: “1984.” Favorite movie: “Braveheart.” Actor he’s like: “Steve-O.” Musician he’s like: “Moby,” or — wait for it — “Choppin” (meaning Chopin).
Sounds like a real catch.

Charlie Rangel's Stimulus Act

If you're a lawyer looking for work, we've got your man. How deep in ethical woes is corrupt Democrat Charles Rangel? Well, he dropped well over half a million dollars on legal fees alone in the last quarter of 2009 alone. Considering the mess he's in, Republicans would be wise to make him a poster boy for the Most Ethical Congress Ever.
Rep. Charlie Rangel's ongoing ethics probe is taking a serious toll - on his campaign war chest.

In just the last quarter of 2009, Rangel shelled out $574,348 to lawyers, according to the latest federal election filings.

Nearly 84% of Rangel's campaign total spending since Oct. 1, $686,912, went to pay for his lawyers.

Ever since Rangel ran afoul of several ethical rules last year - from unreported income to using office letterhead to raise money - he's had to drop more campaign money on five teams of attorneys than he has raised.

Rangel asked a House ethics panel to investigate his actions amid outcry from GOPers and good-government groups.

Over the year, Rangel raised about $1.3 million, but spent more than $1.5 million on lawyers out of the $2.2 million he spent in total.
Speaker Pelosi was unavailable for comment. Probably shaking off a hangover.

'Scott Brown Everyman Action Figure'

OK, now I like Scott Brown and all, but let's not get carried away so fast here.
Massachusetts Sen.-elect Scott Brown is the new superhero in town.

Seizing on Brown's hero status within the GOP following his upset victory to win Ted Kennedy’s old seat, a custom dolls company has created a new action figure modeled after the truck-driving Republican lawmaker, Fox News reported Monday.

The Boston Herald's Inside Track column said that Herobuilders.com will release the Brown action figure on Tuesday. And not just one version but three, each selling for $34.95.

The "Scott Brown Everyman Action Figure" dresses Brown in jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers. The "2012 Executive" Brown dresses him in a professional, presidential head-to-toe suit.

And, for "adults only," the "Cosmo Man Anatomically Correct" Brown dresses the incoming senator in ... well, nothing except for a tastefully placed fig leaf. That one is a send-up of Brown's infamous 1982 Cosmopolitan photo shoot.

"He's a man of action who stepped into the ring, 30 points down, and in just one month does the impossible," Emil Vicale, head of the Connecticut-based company, told the Herald.

'All I Could Think About Was Vince Foster'

Imagine spending your waking hours living in fear of John Edwards. One can only imagine the horrifying images of being bludgeoned with a blow-dryer or suffering the toxic effects of excessive hairspray inhalation.
John Edwards' former flunky says he's been offered "gigantic amounts of money" for a sordid sex tape of the failed presidential candidate and his mistress.

"And we've said no," Andrew Young said Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Young wouldn't say who offered the big bucks, but Edwards' alleged co-star in the X-rated flick, Rielle Hunter, is trying to get her mitts on the tape.

"I'm not clear anything she's asking for is hers," said Young.

Young, who is flogging a tawdry tell-all book about his days with the ex-North Carolina senator called "The Politician," said he found the sex tape just months before the January 2008 Iowa caucus.

It was in a box left in a home that Young said he and his wife, Cheri, briefly shared with Hunter, whom Edwards hired to film his failed presidential bid.

"I could not have told this story without including this sex tape," said Young, who also claims to have phone messages from Edwards to back up his seamy story.

The ex-aide said the video clearly shows Edwards in the middle of a "sexual encounter" with a visibly pregnant woman wearing a thumb ring similar to one that Hunter often wears.

Cheri Young said Hunter's face was not visible in the video.

Hunter went on to bear a daughter by Edwards named Quinn, who is now 2 and living with her in Charlotte, N.C.

In his book, Young - a married father of three - admits he was so blinded by loyalty to Edwards he tried to take the fall for his boss by claiming he was Quinn's daddy.

Young said that after he told Edwards he was done with the charade, he began to fear for his life - especially when the senator showed up "out of the blue" and took him for a ride.

"All I could think about was Vince Foster," Young told "GMA," referring to the former President Clinton aide whose suicide sparked speculation that maybe he was rubbed out to cover up a White House scandal.

"For several months, I used to get up at 3 a.m. and walk around the house with a baseball bat and a knife," Young said.

Asked if he personally feared the pretty boy senator whom critics dubbed "The Breck Girl," Young said no.

"But was I scared, genuinely scared, for me and my family," he said.

'She’s Gifted. She Has All the Parts'

Indeed, Megyn Kelly does have all the parts. Beautiful, intelligent and she doesn't suffer fools liberals easily. Surprisingly, the New York Times offers up a very fair portrait of her today, giving us an excuse to post her photo. The writer takes a typical cheap swipe at Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly, but we assume that's part of the style manual at the Old Grey Hag.
First “America’s Newsroom.” Then “America’s Election Headquarters.” And on Monday, Megyn Kelly will begin anchoring a third all-about-America newscast, “America Live.”

“We’re big on America here at Fox,” Ms. Kelly said in an interview last week.

And America, or at least a big chunk of it, is big on Fox News, which is coming off its highest-rated year ever. That record is largely attributable to right-wing opinion-mongers like Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly, whose bluster sometimes distracts from the newscasts that make up Fox’s daytime schedule.

But there is no concealing the rise of Ms. Kelly, a 39-year-old lawyer who is becoming a solo anchor for the first time. She seems to be progressing through Fox’s star-making machinery, which has turned news anchors like Shepard Smith into household names.

Ms. Kelly appears weekly on Mr. O’Reilly’s opinion program, often putting her legal background to use. Inside the News Corporation, the owner of Fox, Ms. Kelly has been mentioned as a leading candidate for a prime-time anchor job. Fox’s contract with Greta Van Susteren, the longtime 10 p.m. anchor, is up at the end of the year.

In her new role, Ms. Kelly will lead the 1 and 2 p.m. Eastern hours, reading the day’s news and continuing her trademark “Kelly’s Court” segment, which comes from “America’s Newsroom,” the morning show on which she was paired with Bill Hemmer for the last three years. The afternoon shift, typically busy with breaking news, accentuates what Ms. Kelly calls the “sort of ‘swim, swim!’ nature of live TV.”

“It’s heady,” she said.

Fox executives, who view Mr. Hemmer and Ms. Kelly as rising stars, say they split up the pair to spread their talents across more hours of the day. “She’s gifted. She has all the parts,” Michael Clemente, the senior vice president for news editorial at Fox, said of Ms. Kelly.

Video: Obama's Budget Arrives on Capitol Hill

Think federal spending is out of control? This ought to put it in context. Seems a Brazilian rainforest jungle was chopped down to print it. You suppose maybe some day they could do this electronically?

Who Dat? It's Bobby Hebert

You might remember Bobby Hebert from when he played for the Saints and Falcons back in the 1980s following a stint as a USFL quarterback. Well, Hebert now hosts a radio show in New Orleans and yesterday made good on a promise by the late Buddy Diliberto to walk down Bourbon Street in drag if the Saints ever made it to the Super Bowl.
"Who Dat in Heaven - Buddy D.''
That's what the sign said outside the Oceana Grill on Conti Street.

On the stage, a Pierre Thomas jersey was hugging a Sam Mills jersey.

A Drew Brees jersey was playing the trombone. A Marques Colston jersey was playing the trumpet. A Will Smith jersey was sipping suds. A Heath Evans jersey was carrying a mini-Who Dat on his shoulders. A Feilkow sign was doing the boogie.

They were part of a jam-packed crowd waiting for Buddy's Brawds to show up. On the parade route, from the Superdome to the French Quarter, they represented the finish line of the parade of men-in-dresses, in this case, all the way from thrift-store skirts to an elegant $14,000 wedding outfit.

Think about it.

All this because of a throwaway line from a Big Easy-bred legend.

"If the Saints ever made it to the Super Bowl,'' Buddy Diliberto once promised, "I'm going to wear a dress and dance through the streets.''

Well, there they were Sunday, thousands of men in dresses, dancing from the Dome into the Quarter, with thousands and thousands looking on.

A week before a Super Bowl, ask yourself: Was there anything like this, or close to it, in Cowboy Nation, in Patriot Nation, in 49er Nation, in Redskin Nation, in Dolphin Nation, in Viking Nation?

This was a tribute to the memory of an endearing Mr. Malaprop.

Throughout a career that began at The Times Picayune, and went on to television and radio, Buddy D could be a critic, but he was no mean-spirited critic, no critic eaten up with ego.

He was someone who refused to take himself seriously, who was quick to admit mistakes, never reluctant to join his legion of admirers in poking fun at himself, at his tongue-twisting, at those endless malaprops.

There was the day he introduced Joe Yenni, the mayor of Kenner, as "Joe Yenner, mayor of Kenni.''

Meaning to say "secondaries,'' he once announced "quarterback Dan Fouts retired today after 17 seasons of terrorizing NFL secretaries.''

And there were those throwaway lines:

"That's a mute point.''

"That's just the chip of the iceberg.''

"The Saints led in time of obsession.''

"If the Saints can make the trade, it will be a good one, like manana from heaven.''

"Old Dominion'' became "Old Dominican.''

When it came to injuries, a player was out with "a torn lee nigament.'' On another day, a shoulder operation might be called one to remedy "a torn rotary cup.''

A visit to Children's Hospital once prompted the observation about "those courageous boys and girls lying there, hooked up to their RVs.''
Looks like Saints fans are just getting warmed up. One can only imagine the scene down there next Sunday.

Head UN Climate Clown Now Authoring Soft-Porn Novels

From climate porn to soft-porn

The head of the UN's pack of climate liars has moved on from authoring absurd junk science reports to a ridiculous novel that may well make him even more of a laughingstock that he already is.
As the UN's climate change chief, Dr Rajendra Pachauri has spent his career writing only the driest of academic articles. But the latest offering from the chairman of the UN’s climate change panel is an altogether racier tome.

Some might even suggest Dr Pachauri’s first novel is frankly smutty.

Return to Almora, published in Dr Pachauri’s native India earlier this month, tells the story of Sanjay Nath, an academic in his 60s reminiscing on his "spiritual journey" through India, Peru and the US.

On the way he encounters, among others, Shirley MacLaine, the actress, who appears as a character in the book. While relations between Sanjay and MacLaine remain platonic, he enjoys sex – a lot of sex – with a lot of women.

In breathless prose that risks making Dr Pachauri, who will be 70 this year, a laughing stock among the serious, high-minded scientists and world leaders with whom he mixes, he details sexual encounter after sexual encounter.

The book, which makes reference to the Kama Sutra, starts promisingly enough as it tells the story of a climate expert with a lament for the denuded mountain slopes of Nainital, in northern India, where deforestation by the timber mafia and politicians has "endangered the fragile ecosystem".

But talk of "denuding" is a clue of what is to come.

By page 16, Sanjay is ready for his first liaison with May in a hotel room in Nainital. "She then led him into the bedroom," writes Dr Pachauri.

"She removed her gown, slipped off her nightie and slid under the quilt on his bed... Sanjay put his arms around her and kissed her, first with quick caresses and then the kisses becoming longer and more passionate.

"May slipped his clothes off one by one, removing her lips from his for no more than a second or two.

"Afterwards she held him close. ‘Sandy, I’ve learned something for the first time today. You are absolutely superb after meditation. Why don’t we make love every time immediately after you have meditated?’."

More follows, including Sanjay and friends queuing to have sexual encounters with Sajni, an impoverished but willing local: "Sanjay saw a shapely dark-skinned girl lying on Vinay’s bed. He was overcome by a lust that he had never known before ... He removed his clothes and began to feel Sajni’s body, caressing her voluptuous breasts."

Sadly for Sanjay, writes Dr Pachauri, "the excitement got the better of him, before he could even get started".

While teaching meditation to women in the US, Sanjay can once more barely contain his ardour. Again, breasts – usually heaving or else voluptuous – are thrust to the fore.

"He enjoyed the sensation of gently pushing Susan’s shoulders back a few inches, an action that served to lift her breasts even higher," writes Dr Pachauri. "He was excited by the sight of her heaving breasts, as she breathed in and out deeply."

A friend of Susan is taken to a motel by Sanjay but only after he has fondled her breasts – "which he just could not let go of" – inadvertently sounding the car horn at the same time.

Other passages in the novel involve group sex and more risqué sexual practices.

The novel was launched amid much fanfare with Bollywood stars and wealthy industrialists in attendance, a reflection of Dr Pachauri’s esteemed status in the country.

He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, on behalf of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

In the acknowledgement of his novel, Dr Pachauri admits to writing the book while flying around the world between meetings as IPCC chairman or else in his capacity as head of a research institute in Delhi.

But with calls for him to resign over academic blunders in the reports he presides over, some critics will question whether he should have devoted more time to scrutinising the science behind the reports.

Some will also wonder whether just a little bit of Dr Pachauri is reflected in Sanjay, although there is no suggestion Dr Pachauri has ever lusted after women quite so readily.
Yes, there's certainly no mistaking this guy as the Warren Beatty of the climate delusion set.

Obama Budget: Massive Spending, Massive Tax Increases, Massive Deficits

It's unprecedented!
President Barack Obama sent Congress a $3.83 trillion budget on Monday that would pour more money into the fight against high unemployment, boost taxes on the wealthy and freeze spending for a wide swath of government programs.

The deficit for this year would surge to a record-breaking $1.56 trillion, topping last year’s then unprecedented $1.41 trillion gap. The deficit would remain above $1 trillion in 2011 although the president proposed to institute a three-year budget freeze on a variety of programs outside of the military and homeland security as well as increasing taxes on energy producers and families making more than $250,000.

The budget proposal reflects the competing pressure on Obama ahead of the November congressional elections to cut the deficit while pulling the country out of a deep recession — a step that normally requires more rather than less government spending
Of course the media won't point out the tax increase, but we will.
Obama’s job proposals would push government spending in 2010 to $3.72 trillion, up 5.7 percent from last year. Obama’s blueprint for the 2011 budget year, which begins Oct. 1, would increase spending further to $3.83 trillion, 3 percent higher than projected for this year.

While Obama projects that deficits from 2011 to 2020 will add $8.5 trillion to the national debt, the administration said that figure would have been $1.2 trillion higher were it not for deficit cuts the administration is proposing, including elimination of the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts for families making more than $250,000 annually, something Republicans have vowed to oppose.
Eliminating tax cuts, of course, is a tax increase. Perhaps some day the media and the hacks in Washington will realize making $250,000 a year does not make one wealthy.

'The Forces Trying to Tackle Climate Change are in Disarray'

Well, this is what happens when your "science" is built upon a foundation of lies, distortions, misinformation and half-truths. Eventually you lose the battle. Now that these folks are on the run and in disarray, however, it's no time to rest. They must be crushed beyond repair, humiliated and exposed for the frauds they are.
A global deal to tackle climate change is all but impossible in 2010, leaving the scale and pace of action to slow global warming in coming decades uncertain, according to senior figures across the world involved in the negotiations.

"The forces trying to tackle climate change are in disarray, wandering in small groups around the battlefield like a beaten army," said a senior British diplomat.
The Guardian, of course, fails to even mention ClimateGate or the exposing of the pack of lies from the IPCC.

Meanwhile, one of Tony Blair's scientific advisers flails about trying to pin the blame for the uncovering of the ClimateGate emails on either the Russians or U.S. lobbyists. That's good. Ignore the devastating evidence of fraud and worry about who leaked them.
The first sign of the emails came on November 17, when someone attempted to upload them to the RealClimate website, which is run by climate scientists.

The attempted hack failed, but two days later the information popped up on a server used by Tomcity, a company in Russia. It could have been uploaded from anywhere in the world.

However, Sir David said it was impossible to rule out the possibility of Russia being involved. He said: "If it was a job done on behalf of a government, then I suppose there is the possibility that it could be the Russian intelligence agency.

"If it was a maverick group then I suppose it could be the Americans, but I'm hazarding a guess as much as anyone else. The only thing is, I've worked within government and I've seen this in operation."

In his interview, he added that the American lobby system was a "very likely source of finance" for the hack and that "the finger must point to them."
