Idiot Lefty Blogger: Republicans Don't Want Quake-Proof Buildings or Something

It didn't take long for some crackpot bloggers to try and score cheap political points over the tragic events in Japan.
But one thing is clear: Japan's "Big Government Tyranny" --- the type Republicans in DC are trying to kill, as opposed to the type they are maniacally expanding in Wisconsin --- saved hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lives last night.

Thanks to some of the strictest government regulations, building codes, and tsunami monitor and warning systems in the world, Japan averted what would likely have been an even far worse catastrophe, as the New York Times noted earlier today.
Obvious message: Republicans don't use highrise buildings, therefore they don't care if "millions of lives" are lost.

You think this moron, who's based in California, would at least bone up on the history of his own state.
In January 1972, Governor Ronald Reagan established the
Governor’s Earthquake Council as the administration’s reaction to the San Fernando Valley earthquake and to the work of the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Seismic Safety. The council in existence until the Seismic Safety Commission was up
and running in 1975.
Since 1972 we've seen the massive quakes in San Francisco in 1989 and the Northridge quake in 1994. Obviously, Reagan's actions as governor saved millions of lives.

welll..let's see. I'm a Rep who supports the Tea Party agenda and I build/seismic retrofit bridges for a very southwest major city on the coast (see: quake zone). I do this for a living, and I can sincerely say: "suck my sack, liar"

It's almost as if the lefty in question is arguing against a parody of conservative thought, as if the lefty were an ignorant bigot and not an informed citizen!

(OK, not "almost". That's precisely what's happening.)

Too easy.  The left doesn't know what it doesn't know.  Too easy.

at old Mutual Destruction Treaty that allowed the Russians to keep building underground shelters and mega-weapons while halting a real booming business in American Bomb Shelters was a Dim Idiot Party Treaty - not Republican!

Just like the Dim Oile and Gas and Coal Energy Policies - anything to assure American Destruction.

And now it is the fault of the GOP?

LOL! I grant it is the fault of Sapsucker American Tolerant Idiots who grumbled and complained AND COMPLIED! for the last 60 years.

Frederick Douglass: Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will. Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue till they have resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they suppress.

"There are two ways to acquire the niceties of life: to produce them or to plunder them. When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it." - Frederic Bastiat

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations pursuing invariably the same object, evidence a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government..." - Declaration of Independence

Wow. Idiocy aside, that is the most awful web page design I've seen in quite a while.

That history doesn't fit with the narrative. Libs will be compelled to ignore it.

This conservative supports building codes for the same reason he opposes recreational-drug legalization ... both policies reduce the number of pieces the public has to pick up when things go wrong.

(However, that support ends when building code enforcement is perverted by our governments to deliver preferential treatment to some business/labor entities over others).

That is way different from the government mandating what I eat, what I drive, or for that matter the carbon footprint of my underwear ... the dreams of Progressives.
