Former Reporter Also Fails at New Line of Work

I know things are tough in the newspaper business, but this guy proves he is no better at robbing banks then he apparently was as a reporter.
A Guyton man has been sentenced to 104 months in federal prison for an aborted bank robbery in which a customer wrestled him to the floor.

Donald L. Lowery, a 54-year-old former Savannah Morning News and Effingham Now reporter, also was ordered to serve five years on supervised release should he ever be released from prison.
To add the human interest side to the story, the guy is also an alcoholic who has cirrhosis of the liver. I guess being a reporter also leads to drinking, which goes a long way towards explaining some of the reporting we read.
