After Serving Kielbasa, Cheeseburgers, Pizza and Wings at WH Super Bowl Party, Michelle Obama Now Takes on Restaurant Menus

What's wrong with this picture?
So much for first lady Michelle Obama’s healthy eating crusade. Sunday's Super Bowl menu at the White House includes bratwurst, kielbasa, cheeseburgers, deep-dish pizza, and buffalo wings.

There will also be twice-baked potatoes, chips and dip, and ice cream. Green salad is available, but why bother when German potato salad is on the buffet?
So after she and her guests stuff their faces, she now turns around and helps refine restaurant menus so the little people don't get to have what she apparently enjoys so much.

But it's for the children or something.
After wrapping her arms around the retail giant Wal-Mart and trying to cajole foodmakers into producing nutrition labels that are easier to understand, Michelle Obama has her sights set on a new target: the nation's restaurants.
A target? Isn't that word banned in this new Age of Civility?
A team of advisers to the First Lady has been holding private talks over the past year with the National Restaurant Association, a trade group, in a bid to get restaurants to adopt her goals of smaller portions and children's meals that include offerings healthier than French fries and soda, according to White House and industry officials.
Excuse me, but what business is it of hers to have restaurants change their menus?

In case she hasn't noticed, virtually every restaurant in the country already offers low-fat and healthy options. Why do we need an arm of the government involved in this?

It has nothing to do with healthy eating. Once government has total control of the food industry through oversight and regulation, then food industry workers become government workers and can be unionized under SEIU. A portion of every check and sale then goes to the DNC.
Witness what is being done with the TSA.
Nothing the Obamas do is for anything other than power.

Why doesn't she just teach children to forage for nuts and berries like most Sasquatch mommies do?

Oh wahh. Eathing what you want on Superbowl Sunday and still promoting a healthy lifetyle are not conflicting. Its 1 day of the year. Take all the major holidays of the  year, and throw in 1 cheat day a week and you still have 5 or 6 days a week for the whole year to eat healthy, excercise a little and come out just fine. Watching what you eat doesn't mean you eat like an acolyte. Good grief.

As for her 'target' she's focusing on portion sizes. If you pig out on health food all the healthiness in the world won't save you from the fact that you still over ate.

Get off your high horse.

OMG!  She doesn't eat healthily 24/7/365, even though she's urging Americans to eat better in general!  Pitchforks and torches, people!

The same as any other person.  Is there something wrong with urging people to eat more healthfully, and asking (without using the force of law) restaurants to dial back the butter, cream and salt a bit?

I must've missed the day in Civics class where they discussed the First Lady's role in governing the country.  Which "arm" of the government is she covered under?

Don't you have something, youknow...important to be outraged about?  If you want to tilt at windmills, take a drive through Iowa - there are thousands of them along I-80.

Ah yes... the inability to separate a once in awhile event menu with what is done on a daily basis.

You dumb asses -- she is advising professionals on nutrition science -- no laws no penalties just advising on science (not that you jerkoffs would understand that.

As fas as the kielbasa you dumbasses don't seem to be have the ability to distinguish between a one-time event and a long-term trend -- that is why someone has to explain the obvious to you regarding nutrition.. life must suck on the bottom half of the bell curve. (you might have to look that up)

A reply from one of the "dumb as*es":  As an adult and a free American, I resent the audacity of the President's wife telling other people how to eat and businesses how to operate.  This is not the American way.
The President's wife has been seen and documented as eating every kind of food that she wishes the 'little people' wouldn't partake; from buttery lobster to the high-end beef products all the way to ice cream and liquor.

Perhaps the supporters of the President's wife might be reminded that the honorary position of FLOTUS only designated the President's wife and doesn't bestow any political or activism status.

The nutrition labels are already easy to understand, it's just a matter of most people disregard them. If she wants healthier kids, she would focus on reforming pubic schools so maybe the kids will be smart enough to read the label.

Yes, she should be a good little woman, shut up, and let men do the business. Because you need a special title (and a penis) to do activism.

If she was white, she'd be laughed out of the country for suggesting she's the nation's "weight watcher." Me-chelle, just 'cos you're a black woman, don't think that extra 50 lbs. doesn't show on you.

Oh, yeah -- yes, there is something wrong with her acting like she;s our nanny. Like, um, maybe she shouldn't automatically assume herself to be so smart in this area that she can nag us about it? How 'bout if we nag her right back? Michelle, you are pushy and bossy and unmannerly, and you should do something about your own weight problem before you set yourself up to "fix" the rest of us poor, stupid Americans who don't have the brains to know how to feed ourselves.

And while we're about it, you know that 2-day-ahead special jet when you went to Hawaii at Christmas? One, you should celebrate it at the White House, and two, you and BO should take ONE jet and save us a few hundred thou.

Now about that trip to Spain...and the cheap-looking shorts and wal-mart shirt from the Grand Canyone trip? And the rappers (you know, the ones who popularized "bitch" and "ho"?) you invite to the White House? Knock it off.

Improve your taste in music and clothes and stop the parties for the Chinese dictators and then maybe we can talk about self-improvement together, rather than with you on a pedastal and us down here looking up at ya.

(Hey, no wonder she does all this nagging stuff, it's kinda fun when you're on this side of it.)
