RFK Jr. Conveniently Forgets Family History

Maybe it's all the heroin that screwed this guy up, but seriously, how does this guy find the stones to be throwing around McCarthyism in this absurd piece while overlooking his family's own intimate history with Joseph McCarthy? Meanwhile, he completely rewrites history in misleading the readers by claiming all the media ran with the Swift Boat story four years ago.
In 2004, America's malleable mainstream media allowed itself to be manipulated by artful Republican operatives into devoting weeks of broadcast attention and drums of ink to unfairly desecrating John Kerry's genuine Vietnam heroics while obligingly muzzling serious discussion of George W. Bush's shameful wartime record of evasion and cowardice.
Weeks of broadcast attention? Who is he kidding? The SBVT story was buried by the media within a week. Only the hapless Kerry kept it alive by whining so much about it. Ironically, the story that gained much further attention was the fraudulent CBS/Dan Rather hit piece on Bush that blew up in their faces.

Anyway, this idiot goes on about Sarah Palin and the AIP, as if that hasn't been covered ad nauseum already. Talk about spilling drums of ink.
But if McCarthy-era guilt-by-association is once again a valid political consideration, Palin, it would seem, has more to lose than Obama. Palin, it could be argued, following her own logic, thinks so little of America's perfection that she continues to "pal around" with a man--her husband, actually--who only recently terminated his seven-year membership in the Alaskan Independence Party.
...
Palin's husband Todd remained an AIP party member from 1995 to 2002. Sarah can be described in McCarthy-era palaver as a "fellow traveler."
Since I would say 99% of the readers over at that cesspool are ignorant of history, here's a refresher.
McCarthy established a bond with the powerful Kennedy family, which had high visibility among Catholics. McCarthy became a close friend of Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr., himself a fervent anti-Communist, and was a frequent guest at the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port. He dated two of Kennedy's daughters, Patricia and Eunice,[42][43] and was godfather to Robert F. Kennedy's first child, Kathleen Kennedy. Joseph Kennedy had a national network of contacts and became a vocal supporter, building McCarthy's popularity among Catholics and making sizable contributions to McCarthy's campaigns.[44]

Unlike many Democrats, John F. Kennedy, who served in the Senate with McCarthy from 1953 until the latter's death in 1957, never attacked McCarthy. Asked once by Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. why he avoided criticism of McCarthy, Kennedy said, "Hell, half my voters in Massachusetts look on McCarthy as a hero."[45]
...
McCarthy appointed Roy Cohn as chief counsel and 27-year-old Robert Kennedy as an assistant counsel to the subcommittee.
SO while playing cute for the HuffPost boobs and playing loosely with the truth, the last name this junkie should be throwing out there is Joseph McCarthy, liberal bogeyman.
