No wonder this dope was going so crazy over Rand Paul the other night. He had a financial investment in his opponent. You would think his slavish devotion on the air would suffice. Then again, he has no ratings, so I guess these radical Democrats really needed the money.

MSNBC host Keith Olbermann made campaign contributions to two Arizona members of Congress and failed Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway ahead of Tuesday’s election — a potential violation of NBC’s ethics policies.

Olbermann, who acknowledged the contributions in a statement to POLITICO, made the maximum legal donations of $2,400 apiece to Conway and to Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords. He donated to the Arizona pair on Oct. 28 – the same day that Grijalva appeared as a guest on Olbermann’s “Countdown” show.

Grijalva, a prominent liberal who was only declared a winner in his race Thursday night, was in a tight contest against tea party-backed candidate Ruth McClung when he appeared on Countdown – one of several appearances he made on the show.

NBC has a rule against employees contributing to political campaigns, and a wide range of news organizations prohibit political contributions – considering it a breach of journalistic independence to contribute to the candidates they cover.

If MSNBC had any credibility he'd be fired. Obviously he won't be going anywhere.

Could you imagine the reaction if Fox personalities were caught giving money to Republicans?

MSNBC President Phil Griffin on Friday announced that MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann was suspended indefinitely without pay, after news that he had donated to three Democratic candidates.

“I became aware of Keith’s political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay,” said Griffin in a statement.

Meet John Boehner's Brother

While most politicians on the conservative side have their personal lives gone through with a sort of CSI forensics scrutiny, the presumed next leader of the House of the Representatives John Boehner has avoided a lot of that. Imagine my surprise to find out that he has a brother who lives in Georgia. I was also surprised to find out that the Boehner family was pretty big. There were 12 children, 9 boys and 3 girls.

Greg Boehner is a small business owner and a Tea Party supporter. While not very politically active, choosing to live his life with as little attention as possible like most of us want to.

A tea party flag bearing the National Rifle Association logo hangs next to the serving window at the Front Porch, and Boehner said he shares his brother’s political beliefs. He campaigned for Republican Austin Scott in this year’s 8th District congressional race, but he doesn’t really like controversy.

He prefers a casual chat in local bars or just people-watching, he said.

Boehner has made only one trip to Washington, and that was on a legislative trip with the Licensed Beverage Association, he said. When his brother takes power Jan. 3, he does plan to be on hand, but he’d like to do some sightseeing, too. He wants to look for the name of a family friend on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall.

Greg found his way to Georgia after serving at Ft Benning and has now developed a taste for the life in the south including NASCAR, but some old habits are hard to break. He is still a Cincinnati Reds fan.

I came across this information while looking into a case of a recent drug bust in the Atlanta area that involved this Mexican drug gang, La Familia Michoacana. I find it intriguing that there is virtually no difference between this group and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

La Familia cartel is sometimes described as quasi-religious since its current leaders, Moreno González and Méndez Vargas, refer to their assassinations and beheadings as "divine justice"[11] and that they may have direct or indirect ties with devotees of the New Jerusalem religious movement, which is noted for its concern for justice issues.[12]

La Familia’s boss and spiritual leader Nazario Moreno González, (a.k.a.: El Más Loco or The Craziest One) has published his own 'bible',[11][13] and a copy seized by Mexican federal agents reveals an ideology that mixes evangelical-style self help with insurgent peasant slogans. Moreno González seems to base most of his doctrine on the work by a Christian writer John Eldredge. The Mexican justice department stated in a report that Gonzalez Moreno has made Eldredge's book Salvaje de Corazón (Wild at Heart) required reading for La Familia gang members and has paid rural teachers and National Development Education (CONAFE) to circulate Eldredge's writings throughout the Michoacán countryside.[14][15] An idea central to Eldredge's message is that every man must have "a battle to fight, a beauty to rescue and an adventure to live." Eldredge quotes from Isaiah 63, which describes God wearing blood-stained clothes, spattered as though he had been treading a wine press. Then he writes: "Talk about Braveheart. This is one fierce, wild, and passionate guy. I have never heard Mister Rogers talk like that. Come to think of it, I never heard anyone in church talk like that, either. But this is the God of heaven and Earth."

La Familia cartel emphasize religion and family values during recruitment and has placed banners in areas of operations claiming that it does not tolerate substance abuse or exploitation of women and children. According to Mexico Public Safety Secretary Genaro Garcia Luna, it recruits members from drug rehabilitation clinics by helping addicts recover and then forcing them into service for the drug cartel or be killed.[16] Advancement within the organisation depends as much on regular attendance at prayer meetings as on target practice.[6] The cartel gives loans to farmers, businesses, schools and churches,[17] and it advertises its benevolence in local newspapers in order to gain social support.[15]

On July 16, 2009, a man by the name of Servando Gómez Martínez (La Tuta) identified himself as the 'chief of operations' of the cartel. In his TV message, Gómez stated, "La Familia was created to look after the interests of our people and our family. We are a necessary evil," and when asked what La Familia really wanted, Gómez replied, "The only thing we want is peace and tranquility." President Felipe Calderón's government refuses to strike a deal with the cartel and rejected their calls for dialogue.[18][19]

On April 20, 2009, about 400 Federal Police agents raided a christening party for a baby born to a cartel member.[20][21] Among the 44 detained was Rafael Cedeño Hernández (El Cede), the gang’s second in command and in charge of indoctrinating the new recruits in the cartel's religious values, morals and ethics.

So we label this group as a drug cartel and gang and use the full force of law enforcement to interrupt and disrupt their operations but cannot bring ourselves to say the same things about groups like the Taliban. Granted, there are no Taliban enclaves, as far as I know, in this country, but I have to wonder even if there were would law enforcement pursue them with the same zeal that they do the drug lords from south of our border or would they still tippy-toe around out of fear offending the religion of peace.

Discuss amongst yourselves, and in the meantime, try to figure out how the liberal left would handle this. So many ironies for them to wrestle with. How can they defend the Hispanics and legalization of drugs while condemning the Christian aspects without drawing parallels to Muslims?

Former BB&T CEO: Bankruptcy of U.S. is "Mathematical Certainty"

You may recall that several trillion dollars ago, our pal Joe Biden told us we have to spend money to keep from going bankrupt as a country.

Would you believe that cockamamie idea isn't working out too well?

John Allison, who for two decades served as chairman and CEO of BB&T, the nation's 10th largest bank, told CNSNews.com it is a “mathematical certainty” that the United States government will go bankrupt unless it dramatically changes its fiscal direction.

Allison likened what he sees as the predictable future bankruptcy of the United States to the problems at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, whose insolvency he also said was foreseeable to those who studied their business practices and financial situation.

“I think the first thing we have to realize is where we’re going and to face it objectively,” Allison told CNSNews.com, when asked about the trillion-dollar-plus deficits the federal government has run for three straight years, the more than $13 trillion in federal debt, and the $61.9 trillion long-term shortfall the government faces (according to the analysis of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation) if the government is to pay all the benefits it has promised through entitlement programs.

“If you run the numbers, on all those numbers that you just talked about, which I think are accurate, very accurate, in 20 or 25 years, the United States goes bankrupt,” said Allison. “It’s a mathematical certainty."

Good call there, Mr. Vice President.

Important News: Bristol Palin Didn't Vote This Week

I actually saw several stories noting this earth-shattering news yesterday but dismissed it as a non-story. Yet it's apparently so important it's now at the top of CNN's political page. Just remember stories like these when we're reminded that politician's children are off limits.

Politics is serious business, but not all of the time. From the halls of Congress to the campaign trail, there's always something that gets a laugh. Here are some of the things you might have missed.

Bristol Palin, who's currently starring on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," dropped a bombshell to "Inside Edition," saying she didn't send in her absentee ballot to Alaska. Mama Grizzly can't be too happy about that.

The Palins will just never win. If Sarah insisted her daughter voted we'd hear how nasty and domineering she was, and then we'd have analysis of who she voted for. Yet to no surprise a 20-year-old busy dancing on some national show forgot to vote and it's still news (Here's hoping she wins, if only for the months of blog material from Andrew Sullivan and the boys from Media Matters--It's a conspiracy!). Let's ignore the fact that Mama Grizzly supported 43 candidates who won Tuesday and instead focus on her daughter. If Sarah hadn't been such a success, I don't this would be noteworthy.

Did anyone go ask Chelsea Clinton who she voted for this week? Any of the Gore children, the Kerry children, the Edwards children, the McCain children? Not that I'm aware of, although I'm sure Meghan McCain happily divulged it somewhere. Yet for CNN, the fact Bristol Palin failed to vote somehow merits top of the page coverage.

The End of 'The Free Pass of Zero-Accountability for Obama Czars'

As we savor recapturing the House of Representatives from the Democrats Tuesday night, don't overlook the fact that along with it comes the perks of the majority: The GOP will now chair all the committees, a fact that will no doubt cause much angst on the left. You think reducing Nancy Pelosi to back-bencher status was enjoyable? Well, to add a cherry on top, we no longer have to suffer through the Barney Franks and Charlie Rangels running roughshod over whoever they decide to drag before their committees. Even better, we'll see even less of the ugliest man in politics, Henry "Nostrilitus" Waxman.

So as we move forward, it will be nice to see actual government oversight of the runaway Obama spending train, and it looks like some fun is in store.

A Michigan Republican lawmaker is promising to make the White House climate czar a familiar face by repeatedly bringing her in front of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Rep. Fred Upton, who is gunning to chair the powerful panel, vows to end “the free pass of zero-accountability for Obama czars” such as White House energy adviser Carol Browner.

“Given her extensive influence within the administration, one would think [current Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry] Waxman would want to hear her at some point,” Upton writes in a Nov. 1 column in the conservative publication Human Events that is being circulated around town by his staff.

“Given her absence from Capitol Hill for the last two years, there is little doubt that she will surely become a familiar face with Republicans in charge. We have questions, and the American people deserve answers,” the column adds.

Upton is burnishing his conservative bona fides as he seeks to be chairman when the GOP assumes House control next year.

Various lobbyists and aides say Upton has the pole position to head the committee, but Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) — who is currently the panel’s senior Republican — and others are also eyeing chairmanship.

Since the media is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party, we've seen little if anything about those who've headed committees with the Democrats in power. Expect that to change. Anyone on the GOP side of even the slightest relevance can expect to have their entire lives turned upside down, their friends and families investigated, even the slight hint of scandal will be headline news. The George Soros Deathsquads from Media Matters will make sure of that, even if they have to just make stories up. So be careful what you wish for, Mr. Upton. And record every conversation. Georgie's boys love to splice tape.

“House Republicans pledge to conduct vigorous oversights of the Obama administration next year if the American people entrust us with the Majority. With Republicans at the helm and exercising its authority to oversee activities of the executive branch, we will restore the public trust and subject this White House and its dozens of czars to the scrutiny that taxpaying Americans expect and deserve,” Upton writes.

That's basically a declaration of war against those who suck off the government teat, so be prepared for the onslaught.

I Want Sarah Filling Out My NCAA Tournament Brackets

In a lot of the post-election analysis of the midterm elections a sizable amount of attention has been paid to what sort of influence Sarah Palin had on the various races, with stories ranging from not much to you couldn't win without her.

Well, this might be an eye opening story for some, and one which will send even more denizens of Media Matters and DU scurrying to pop some more Prozac or Valium, since they couldn't get marijuana legalized.

"Take Back the 20," Palin's political action committee, targeted 20 congressional districts across the country that John McCain carried in 2008 but had Democratic representatives in Congress.

The results, listed below, are eye-opening. Palin succeeded in 18 of 20 districts, losing in West Virginia's 3rd House District. At this time, the race in Arizona's 8th House District is too close to call.

So while critics try to blame the Tea Party for costing the Republicans the Senate, which was always a long shot to begin with, to saying that anybody who Sarah endorses is probably riding on the crazy train, the results speak for themselves.

Closing thought. Much has been made of the Tea Party success in this election cycle, and while they are not a political party, I would challenge their critics to compare their results with those of, say, the Green Party, or Libertarians or Constitution Party, or any other third party out there. The bottom line is they got results while all the others have is another election cycle where they get to lick their wounds.

Oh yeah, and how many of Obama's endorsed candidates won?

'I Have Found It a Real Challenge To Be a Public Person'

There's a simple solution to your dilemma, toots. Stop giving interviews to anyone who asks. Stop making public appearances with Sean Penn and stop spinning wild tales about your alleged life as a covert agent. You don't want publicity? Then you and your media whore husband need to STFU and move on with your lives.

She's posed on the red carpet at Cannes in a flowing designer gown, at Deauville in a sleek black bustier and palazzo pants. She exchanges e-mails with Naomi Watts. Sean Penn hung out at her house. Not for nothing have they called Valerie Plame Wilson the Glamorous Spy.

And yet for years, she lived a life of secrecy that most of us would have trouble fathoming, unable to tell her best friends what she actually did for a living, or her own husband where she was flying off to in the middle of the night.

How do you go from one life to the other? Not very easily — still, she says, as she prepares for another round in the spotlight with the release Friday of "Fair Game," the movie based on her infamous 2003 "outing" as a CIA agent.

"I have found it a real challenge to be a public person," Plame Wilson said in an interview this week from Santa Fe, N.M., where she now lives with her husband, former ambassador Joe Wilson, and their 10-year-old twins. "I was in a world where discretion was good. All of a sudden that changed overnight. That was not easy at all."

Now with a movie and what are sure to be gushing reviews she'll be all over the place, struggling to handle the real challenge of being a media darling.

Life must be so tough.

And to those critics who claim she's thoroughly enjoyed profiting from that celebrity — red carpets, photo shoots, book and movie deals — Wilson has this to say, her voice hardening slightly: "Listen, I loved my job. If none of this had happened, I'd still be overseas working, happily, right now. But that wasn't the card I was dealt."

Of course as a paper-pusher at Langley, she never was working "overseas" to begin with, but why ruin a good fantasy life?

Is PrezBo Invading India or Giving Sailors R&R?

34 naval warships to accompany PrezBo on his trip to India, for reasons that still are not entirely clear, for his protection and yet when the citizens of this country holler for some help on the southern border to stem the growing threat posed by Mexican drug cartels and the flood of illegals crossing the border, not all of whom are coming to this country for jobs, his response is have his Department of Justice, led by Eric Holder, to file lawsuits to inhibit these citizens ability. I'm not sure if he intends to invade India or is going to allow the sailors a little R&R in support of Madame Michelle's reported visit to talk to the "hospitality" workers in the country.

Adding to the Obamas’ busy schedule is Michelle’s likely visit to Kamathipura, where she will meet commercial sex workers on the invitation of an NGO.

The details of this trip needs to be archived and brought off the shelf when the political campaign for 2012 begins in earnest to pound him and the Dems over head with.

If the security for this trip is that fraught with danger the prudent thing to do would be to call it off and invite whoever it is you are going to meet to come to America. I am sure it would be damn sight cheaper then the estimated $200 million a day this trip is reported to be costing us.

Least you think it will be all work and no play for the first queen, er lady she is planning on visiting some museums in between all the dinners and parties with her daughters in tow.

Heartbroken Liberal Columnist: Imperial Pelosi Needs to Listen To Five-Year-Olds or Something

As the sun sets on the Imperial Speakership, the left is beginning to realize what a pompous, elitist, arrogant Nancy Pelosi has done to her party. This piece is a bit incoherent and anecdotal, but the point is the deposed House Speaker needs to get in touch with the common man.

Uh, too late.

As an unreformed liberal, I should be devastated that Nancy Pelosi will cease to be speaker of the House.

But I keep thinking back to what a friend told me about the afternoon of Sept. 22, on the tarmac at Kennedy Airport.

Pelosi flew into New York aboard Air Force One with President Obama, who was to address the United Nations and then head for a fund-raiser at the Roosevelt Hotel.

Pelosi was going straight to the fund-raiser, so she opted for a motorcade rather than hitch a ride on the presidential helicopter.

She climbed into a limousine expecting to be whisked away with a police escort, only to be informed the area was frozen until Obama had safely flown away.

Pelosi decided that the freeze could not apply to her. She sent her security detail over to inform the Secret Service and the Port Authority police that she desired to depart immediately.

The Pelosi detail came over with a look that said they had to ask because their boss was insisting. The reply was what they knew it would be.

"No."

After 10 minutes at the very most, Obama departed and Pelosi's motorcade was immediately allowed to proceed.

She would have done well to retain the perspective her 5-year-old grandson showed while riding with her in her first motorcade the day she became speaker.

"This is great! This is what I want to be when I grow up," the boy said, by her account.

"You want to be speaker of the House?" she asked.

"No, I want to be a motorcycle policeman," the boy said.

As a motorcycle cop the kid will be far more in touch with reality, as was one that day.

Whatever happens now, Pelosi is not likely ever to be kept waiting in a motorcade until the President is safely away.

"She won't have to worry about that anymore," said a cop, the kind her grandson would admire.

In other heartbreaking news, the folks in the Bay Area suddenly are concerned Queen Nancy won't be bringing home the pork. Oh well.

Media Matters Not Handling Crushing Defeat Too Well

To no surprise, Fox News had record-breaking viewership Tuesday night as their fair and balanced lineup is now the most trusted name in news. Contrast that with the running joke that MSNBC has become, where their absurd coverage laced with snide commentary left them at the bottom of the cable heap, trailing even CNN.

Naturally, the children at Media Matters aren't taking defeat well.

During the 2010 election cycle, Fox News, its employees, and its parent company engaged in an unprecedented campaign in support of the Republican Party. The network served as the communications and fundraising wing of the GOP while fervently promoting -- and sometimes creating -- the party's candidates.

I guess the RNC, RSCC, RCCC, state parties and individual candidates did nothing. They simply waited for funding and marching orders from a television network.

Is this what George Soros expects for all his money? These clowns even see something sinister brewing as they look ahead to 2012.

Fox News candidates "speak through Fox News" at least 269 times in 2010. Media Matters for America searched the Nexis database through September 18 for network and cable television appearances in 2010 by five potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates who currently have relationships with Fox News. The five potential candidates -- John Bolton, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, and Rick Santorum -- have appeared 269 times on Fox News and a total of six times on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS combined.

Let's put it this way: Why not go where you reach the largest potential audience? They just don't get it.

Ironically, Media Matters sees no such nefarious collaboration when a lone Democrat appears 62 times on MSNBC.

Methodology: Media Matters uses Lexis transcripts and TV Eyes searches. We don’t have access to these premium services, so we had to make do with the interwebs. We searched the msnbc website for transcripts and, with the help of Google, searched the web for videos of Grayson appearances on MSNBC. Appearances on CNBC were not counted.

So what did we find? MSNBC has treated Alan Grayson very well, with considerably more appearances than Kasich and Paul on Fox combined. More than 30. More than 40. In fact, a total of 62 appearances! To be fair, as a sitting Congressman prone to attention grabbing, it is likely that he would be called on more often than a non-incumbent. But over 60 appearances, even multiple appearances on the same day? (In what must be an oversight, Media Matters has yet to report on this spectacular example of what it calls ‘promotion’.)

Meanwhile, a delusional Media Matters drone tells us America rejected the GOP Tuesday (H/T).

Alvin Greene Crashes His Own Campaign Reception, Scarfs Down Hors D'oeuvres, Acts Weird

Poor guy.

He ran the most disciplined, on-message campaign in the history of American politics, and he doesn't even get invited to his party's election night celebration. We can only assume the South Carolina Democrat party leaders are a bunch of hillbilly racists. Why else would they shun such an electrifying candidate? The man is solid gold, baby!

Turns out he was just running in the wrong state, that's all.

How appropriate that Greene's all-too-brief legacy will be recorded for posterity in a comic book. Teacups must be so jealous.

Nutty Democrat: House Needs to Disavow Clinton Impeachment or Something

Obviously some Democrats haven't quite got their priorities in order. I actually remember seeing this tool on television during the time of Clinton's impeachment. He clearly hasn't gotten over it yet.

On the day after Republicans reclaimed control of Congress, a Democratic lawmaker said he will introduce a measure that would "disavow" the impeachment of former President Clinton.

Rep. Chaka Fattah (Pa.) said that the resolution is necessary so that Democrats and Republicans can work together in a bipartisan fashion.

"As we enter a period in which bipartisanship will be a major priority for the Congress, it is vital that we disavow the most highly partisan example of the politics of personal destruction in the recent history of this House," Fattah said in a statement.

That would be a shrewd move by the Republicans: Denouncing themselves. Keep dreaming.

The last time they were in power, House Republicans impeached Clinton for allegedly perjuring himself over his supposed affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Clinton, only the second president in history to be impeached, was eventually acquitted at trial in the Senate.

Critics slammed the impeachment as a political move by the GOP, but the impeachment did not torpedo the GOP: they controlled the House for another eight years.

New Report Reveals Ozzy Osbourne is a Genetic Mutant

Well, this might at least explain his appearance with the Merry Band of Misfits the other day. I always figured Keith Richards had some kind of super-gene that kept him going, but I guess Ozzy's got it himself.

A new study shows that legendary heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne may be a genetic mutant.

The 61-year-old former lead singer of Black Sabbath has several gene variants that "we've never seen before," experts said.

Geneticist Nathaniel Pearson, who sequenced the rocker's genome, including variants that could impact how Osbourne's body absorbs methamphetamines and other drugs, ABC News reported on its website today.

Osbourne's resilience piqued the interest of Knome, Inc., a genomics company that decided to sequence the "full Ozzy genome."

"Why not Ozzy?" Jorge Conde, co-founder and chief executive of Cambridge, Mass.-based Knome, told ABC News.

The results of Knome's sequencing were released last Friday in San Diego at this year's TEDMED conference.

The biggest differences in Osbourne's genes compared to other people is how he processes drugs and booze.

Genes connected to addiction -- alcoholism and the absorption of methamphetamines -- all had unique variations in Osbourne, a few of which Knome geneticists had never seen before.

"He had a change on the regulatory region of the ADH4 gene, a gene associated with alcoholism, that we've never seen before," Conde told ABC News. "He has an increased predisposition for alcohol dependence of something like six times higher.

"He also had a slight increased risk for cocaine addiction, but he dismissed that. He said that if anyone has done as much cocaine he had, they would have been hooked."

Osbourne is also 2 1/2 times more likely to suffer from hallucinations associated with marijuana use, though he said he wouldn't know if that were true because he so rarely smoked marijuana without other drugs also in his system.

'I’m Delighted That the Country Will Not be Plagued by Senators Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell, and Probably Joe Miller'

So says the left's favorite (ahem) "conservative," David Brooks, waxing poetic on the elections. The man who admires Obama's pants crease, discusses the blowout with a weepy Gail Collins.

David Brooks: Oh yeah. I’m delighted that the country will not be plagued by Senators Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell, and probably Joe Miller in Alaska. In a wave election a candidate has to beat the voters over the head with incompetence to lose, but these folks managed.

Thanks, Dave. Sure, everyone will argue the merits of those candidates, but one thing is sure: It's a safe bet they'd be voting with the GOP a good portion of the time. So nice to know your delicate sensibilities and refined tastes won't have to suffer the plague of these second-class citizens you deride.

If that's not enough, "conservative" Brooks had more reason to celebrate.

I really cared about the Illinois Senate race, where I’m happy to say Mark Kirk won. I also cared about the Colorado Senate race, where I’m happy to say Michael Bennett has a slight lead. I’m also really glad Rob Portman is coming to Washington from your fine home state, and I have to say, I think John Kasich will be a good governor.

Rooting for three out of seven GOP candidates I guess qualifies him as something far worse than candy-assed RINO.

Alas, Dave was saddened last night, as were many fake conservatives, I'm sure.

Feingold was a good, smart senator. I’ll be sorry to see him go, though I would blame Nancy Pelosi for the loss. If you insult public opinion, then the country will take it out on your people.

Fox News Fair and Balanced....Not Just A Slogan

Well we have had endless analysis of the political races with all of the woulda, coulda, shoulda's that go along with that we now have the analysis of the analysis and once again Fox News has come out on top as having the best coverage.

If you believe that the cable news landscape is symptomatic of our two-party political system, then you also probably, and predictably, saw a different tone in last nights election results. Fox News presented its coverage with a patina of celebration, while MSNBC’s took a more gloom and doom approach. But there was one important distinction between the two outlets: Fox News offered a far more balanced set of analysts for the election coverage than did MSNBC.

I watched the coverage on MSNBC and Fox sandwiched around my watching of the best show on television right now "The Sons of Anarchy". My personal observations were I couldn't stand the coverage on MSNBC for more then 10 minutes at a time. Instead of analyzing the races with any sort of serious discussions, as the results would come in, normally proclaiming another Republican pick up, the panelists would launch into a series of personally derogatory name calling or snarky comments. It was like watching some sort of weird MST3k. Even when the Democrat won they still took time out to make some sort of smarmy personal comment about the Republican loser.

Fox on the other hand played it straight down the line offering background on the dynamics of the race they were talking about, giving background on the candidates involved and never did I hear them refer to anybody in disparaging terms or using derogatory terms. The panelists engaged in lively discussions that provided insight into the race.

My wife watched some the regular NBC coverage and she was pleasantly surprised at the way they covered it which she thought was decent.

Somebody needs to get some adults in charge over at MSNBC and get this sad parody of 24 hour SNL skit in order.

Dethroned Queen Pelosi to Discuss Devastation With Diane Sawyer

I'm almost tempted to watch what's sure to be a sobfest as hard-hitting journalist Diane Sawyer helps poor Nancy come to grips with the harsh reality she may soon have to fly coach.

Outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) will sit for an interview Wednesday with ABC News as House Democrats wait for a decision on her future in Congress.

The decimated Democratic caucus is “in a holding pattern,” one Democratic aide said Wednesday, hours after the party suffered a landslide loss of their House majority

Unlike Republicans, who are now jockeying for leadership posts in the 112th Congress, House Democrats are keeping their powder dry until they get a signal from Pelosi, who has given no indication of whether she intends to remain in the party leadership or stay in Congress at all.

Based on Tuesday night's ABC coverage, expect nothing less than a softball sympathy session.

Shortly after ABC News projected the Republican takeover of the House of Representative, co-anchors George Stephanopoulos and Diane Sawyer, plus Democratic contributor Donna Brazile, waxed effusive of Nancy Pelosi, the object of so many voters’ ire. “President Obama called her a rock, the rock for the White House,” Sawyer enthused.

Sawyer also twice admired how Pelosi once said she took the job “to be in the arena,” exclaiming: “She will not be a footnote in history, no matter what happens.” Stephanopoulos quickly agreed: “That is absolutely right.”

The least Pelosi could do after "leading" her party to a historical defeat is stand up and face the media rather than having a Twinkie-munch Sisters of Sob moment with someone so sympathetic.

It should come as no surprise that the disgraced Alan Grayson was trolling for money in the sewers of the Internet during his failed campaign against Dan Webster. Well, buck up, Al, the people you truly represent are paying tribute to their fallen hero.

We need to keep fighting until outspoken Progressives are the norm and winning all their elections.

Oops: Using 'Tea Party' Plants Backfires on Democrats

It was nice to see two sneaky Democrats and their sponsored 'Tea Party' plants go down in flames Tuesday night.

You'll recall incumbent New Jersey Democrat John Adler's campaign was snagged using Peter DeStefano to "confuse conservative voters" in the race against Jon Runyan.

Well, how'd that work out?

In the closest-watched race of the night, Democrat John Adler, a Harvard-educated former state senator whose traditionally Republican district stretches from Camden to the Jersey Shore, lost a tight battle with Republican Jon Runyan, a former tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, 50 percent to 47 percent.

Adler, 51, who won two years ago on President Obama’s coattails, ran this year as a centrist, touting his vote against the new health care reform law, while Runyan, a political newcomer with celebrity status, painted the Democrat as a close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Combine Adler with all the independent candidates in NJ-3 and he still failed to beat Runyan.

Meanwhile, over in Pennsylvania's 7th District, a Democrat candidate for the House had earlier admitted he helped gather signatures for an alleged tea partier that actual tea partiers wanted nothing to do with. This boob did even worse last night.

Republican congressional candidate Patrick Meehan defeated his Democratic challenger, State Rep. Bryan Lentz, by a 10 point margin Tuesday night.

Meehan won 55 percent of the vote to Lentz's 44 percent with more than 96 percent of the voting counted.

Special added bonus: Sestak also lost.

Congratulations to both Runyan and Meehan, as well as the voters in those districts who weren't "confused" by the Democrat dirty tricks.

Respect: Obama Blow-Up Sex Doll Goes on Sale in China

Don't feel like a voter screwed over. Relax, progressives, you can still be amorous with your hero. I'm tempted to send these to the folks at MSNBC.

Americans may have fallen out of love with Barack Obama, but the president of the United States is still an object of affection for the Chinese, who have remodelled him as a blow-up sex doll.

A doll wearing a dark blue suit and red tie, and with Mr Obama's face carefully screen-printed onto its head, was exhibited at the recent 8th Sex Culture Festival in the southern city of Guangzhou.

The doll was photographed by Chinese state media nestling behind several other standard plastic female toys.

Mr Obama is widely popular in China, and a "Maobama" t-shirt, bearing an image of his face crossed with a portrait of Chairman Mao, has become a best-seller.

The Guangzhou show, which was only open to adults, cost 30 yuan (£3)to enter and was visited by "tens of thousands" of people, according to a spokesman for the Guangdong Gongchuang Economic Development company, the organisers. One star attraction was a female doll costing 98,000 yuan.

"We do not know which manufacturer produced this doll," the spokesman added.

Not all Chinese are in love with Maobama. Why settle for a poor imitation when you can have the real thing?

Shhh: Jan Brewer Cruises to Victory

Amazing how just a few months ago she was dressed up as a Nazi by the leftwing hate machine, her state was under assault from the Injustice Department and the finger-waggers warned the GOP how such xenophobic actions as enforcing immigration law would alienate Hispanic voters. Then a funny thing happened. Jan Brewer won a resounding victory and the national media didn't notice.

Gov. Jan Brewer scored an easy win over her opponents on Tuesday, fueled by her staunch support of Arizona's controversial immigration law and a national mood that favored Republicans.

Early returns showed Brewer defeating Democrat Terry Goddard by a significant margin. Libertarian Barry Hess and Green Party candidate Larry Gist trailed far behind.

"Tonight, the people have redeemed and renewed America," Brewer said at Republican Party headquarters Tuesday night.

Brewer's victory Tuesday capped off a remarkable political comeback for a candidate dismissed as "toast" by members of her own party as recently as March. Elevated to the Governor's Office after Janet Napolitano became Homeland Security secretary, Brewer spent her first year in office locked in a heated budget battle with her fellow Republicans in the Legislature.

This year Brewer found her political footing, signing Senate Bill 1070 and becoming a national figure on immigration issues. Vocal opposition to federal health-care reform further enhanced her standing among Arizona's electorate.

Other winners in Arizona included Ben Quayle, son of the former VP Dan Quayle. Ruth McClung likely has lost narrowly to Democrat Raul Grijalva.

Oh My: Hispanic Republicans Also Make Historic Gains

Here we go with some more repudiation of the "racist" Tea Party narrative. Hispanic Republican candidates, with one being described as having the support of the Tea Party, also picked up the governor's seat in two states, New Mexico


and Nevada.

I bet that suicide hotline is working overtime today with all the MSM and liberal elites phoning it in over the empirical--that means tangible--data instead of the anecdotal stories we have been swamped with, that further serves to show just how skewed the world of journalism and news reporting have gotten.

I haven't been able to get a rundown on the number of Hispanic Republicans who have won Congressional seats but I have heard reports that they made historic gains in that regard also. The most well-known, of course, is Marco Rubio, but there are others.

How does this fit into your little 'ole narrative of a country of old white racists that make up the Tea Party, Mr. Mainstream Media? Former LTC Allen West won the congressional seat in Florida's 22nd district and while you can't really see him in the video I found giving his acceptance speech, you can see the crowd. I have no doubt that he will face some venom from some of those liberal-minded tolerant progressives who seem to come up with all the hurtful phrases that make it into our vocabulary, but I would like to add my congratulations to Mr. West for his victory, beating out an incumbent Democrat for this seat.



Now, give 'em hell and show them the difference between leadership and management.

If Nancy Pelosi is still talking like this tomorrow morning, I think we may have a problem on our hands.

'Little Harry Reid Trailing in Her Wake'

Let's hope in about 12 hours "Little Harry Reid" is not only trailing but conceding to Sharron Angle.

The crowd went wild when Michelle Obama swept into a high-school gymnasium in Las Vegas yesterday morning, with little Harry Reid trailing in her wake and a local Mariachi band, in full dress uniform, entertaining the crowd. But behind the flag waving and anthem-singing, and the sunny optimism of a typical American election rally, there was a palpable sense of unease.

Two years ago, at the height of Obamania, the First Lady was a sort of rock-star; with a following wind, she could fill an outdoor stadium. Today, her stock has fallen. A few hundred people did turn out to hear her speech, but there were swathes of seats left empty at the back, and plenty of standing room around the stage. Ticker tape was conspicuous by its absence.

Mrs Obama’s message, on the eve of a mid-term election that will define the last two years of her husband’s first term as President meanwhile wasn’t so much Yes We Can as Hopefully We Might.

Maybe there'd have been more confetti but she used it up on her vacation budget.

Guns Are Bad but Dems Are Cool With Knives

When Cobb County police arrived, the man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and felony theft. Officers told Cavitt he ranted anti-Republican rhetoric throughout the process.

If the Dems are this out of control in what is essentially a local state election I can't wait for the news once they fully come to grips with the tsunami that is expected today.

For the record Craig Prewett is the Republican in this race and Steve Thompson is the Democrat incumbent.

Lamour walked out of his front doors and confronted the man, who replied, “You shouldn’t be voting for this Craig Prewett fellow, you should vote for Steve Thompson,” said Prewett’s spokesman John Harris. Lamour said he followed the man across the street, where the man began pulling signs out of Prewett’s front yard.

Lamour told Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt that when he told the man to stop, the man pulled out a knife and “lunged at him.” Lamour said he screamed, and his brother, Edgar Lamour, and Prewett rushed to help him.

Just remember folks, you need to keep an eye out for those Tea Party members with their Gadsen flags and American flag shirts. Black Panthers with billy clubs and crazed supporters engaging in knife attacks and tearing up campaign signs are simply thinking of the children. Or maybe not.

The three got into a car and chased the accused attacker, who had sped off in a pickup truck, Lamour said. They followed him through residential areas, and the man nearly hit someone at Powder Springs Elementary School, where a bus driver called the police, Harris said.

And what is this with the guy getting in a pick up truck? I thought only racist Republicans owned pick up trucks.

NYT Offering Advice to Obama: Stop Being So Smug

Even his supporters realize he's got a problem.

I was talking to a Democratic Party donor, a Kansas City businessman. He said he’s given over $30,000 to Obama — and not a word of thanks. He was irritated. Lots of people think this president is too smug to write thank-you notes or make quick courtesy calls.

After the inevitable midterm defeat, Obama needs to make some decisions. He’s stuck on the 20-yard line in domestic and foreign policy. The facile attacks on “fat-cat bankers” have to end. They don’t convince the left and they infuriate the right. Prosecute, by all means, but don’t rail. And remember that Americans get good housekeeping in the end. One $787 billion fiscal injection is enough.

Americans are trying to de-leverage. They’ll follow a president who says extending tax cuts for the rich is madness. They might buy a consumption tax. But the president has to lead.

Obama is confronting an international conviction that he’s hesitant. The agonizing review that led to the Afghan surge left an impression of uncertainty. In the end we got what some have called the Groucho Marx Hello, I Must be Going! plan, a brief reinforcement to be reversed in time for the 2012 campaign. In the Middle East, too, domestic politics have trumped change, with resulting equivocation and familiar paralysis.

Boldness characterized Obama’s campaign; only that will get him re-elected in 2012. He needs to invigorate his team with doers rather than thinkers. He needs to become serious about balancing the budget. He needs a foreign policy that reflects a changed world not a churlish Congress.

And he must admit to himself that perhaps the disappointed are not misguided but rational, even scientific — words he likes.

They're not your enemies, Obama. They're Americans.

War On The Border Claims Four More Americans

While all the attention in this country is on the upcoming election, life and death continues on our southern border with Mexico, and it is getting closer everyday.

Chihuahua state prosecutors' spokesman Arturo Sandoval said Edgar Lopez, 35, of El Paso, Texas, was killed Sunday.

On Saturday, a 26-year-old U.S. woman and an American boy were slain shortly after crossing an international bridge from El Paso. Giovanna Herrera and Luis Araiza, 15, were shot to death.

Sandoval said authorities also identified a 24-year-old woman killed Friday inside a tortilla shop as Lorena Izaguirre, a U.S. citizen and El Paso resident.

Men, women, and children, all apparently are fair game to the drug cartels. While California pushes to legalize drug use they are turning a blind eye to the killing of their fellow citizens in Arizona and Texas. The ninth circuit court entertains lawsuits from the Obama DoJ headed by Eric Holder for laws meant to protect the citizens of the state.

Meanwhile, the remains of seven people were found Sunday in a mass grave in Nogales, on the Arizona border. Mayor Jose Angel Hernandez said a family walking near the site noticed what appeared to be part of a body sticking up in a riverbed. Officers recovered six bodies and a severed head in the grave. A seventh headless body was found nearby.

I would hope that some of these so called Hispanic civil rights groups in this country, you know like La Raza which is working so hard to get us to just ignore any law that makes citizenship in this country a privilege worthy of protecting would be rushing to the microphones to condemn these acts.

It is time for the people in power whose job it is to protect us from physical harm to quit tilting at windmills and imaginary enemies like Wall St brokers, Tea Party members, and evil talk radio show hosts and start recognizing who are the real threats to our life and liberty.

AP Laments Impending Tsunami: 'Hello to Gridlock ... and Goodbye to Recovery?'

Recovery? What recovery? If there was a recovery Democrats wouldn't be facing a massive bloodbath today. It's difficult to distinguish who's more out of touch: the Democrats or their media hand-maidens. Today will be a repudiation of both, although it's doubtful either will get the message. They'll blame anyone and anything other than themselves.

Need any idea how the political tide is shifting? As the writer here says, even in the capitol of Moonbatistan brave souls are showing their support for Republican Sen Bielat as he hope to remove Babbling Barney Frank from office. Outside of seeing Dingy Harry go down tonight, there would be no more sweeter victory than seeing the architect of the Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac debacle sent off into retirement.

Oh my God, could bluer than blue Brookline — the capital of Moonbatistan — be breaking for Republican Sean Bielat?

For 25 years I’ve lived in Brookline, where Republicans admit they’re Republicans at their own risk. Yet I haven’t seen so many lawn signs for a Republican since a few courageous matrons put a “Weld for Governor” placard on their lawn in 1990 and paid the price: social suicide. They were promptly shunned at Whole Foods. Their poor children sat alone in the cafeteria.

It says something huge about Barney Frank’s fall from grace that a few brave Brookline-ites are ready, again, to risk their neighbors’ wrath.

Here’s what I’m seeing: a few dozen small and discreet Bielat signs, mostly in South Brookline on the West Roxbury line, where there’s more diversity. That is, you can actually question Al Gore’s prediction that the Cape will be underwater by 2025 and not be jettisoned from The Great Books Club.

I also see Bielat signage on homes worth $2 million and up. What do rich people care? If no other kids will share a cafeteria seat with their little third-grader, they can ship Muffy and Junior off to private school.

There are almost no Bielat signs around Coolidge Corner, where Bielat lives and apartments and condos dominate. Lots of Brookline condo associations won’t allow political signs. Some wouldn’t even allow American flags to fly on the day after 9/11. I do recall some “Darfur! Not on My Watch” signs outside condos a few years back though, which gives you an idea of what we’re dealing with.

Bielat spokeswoman Lisa Barstow confirmed yesterday why Bielat himself can’t put a sign outside his own condo: his association’s rule. “But they did give him a special dispensation on primary day and for the general election,” she said. Wow. How ecumenical of them.

Mitt Romney stumped for Bielat Monday night.

Shauna O’Connell, a Republican first-time candidate running against state Rep. Jim Fagan (D-Taunton), added: “Shhhh! Can you hear the tidal wave coming to Massachusetts?”

“Sean Bielat is going to go down in history as the man who finally retires Barney Frank,” she said.

A Frank spokesman did not return messages for comment.

Funny how a man who's spent decades talking trash has been awfully quiet of late. A real challenge to your job can do that to a guy.

Massachusetts expect a record turnout today. Let's make it happen, folks. Send a message to Obama by booting his buddy Deval Patrick. The state is one of the few remaining Democrats firewalls. Make it crumble.

Biden Appearance in Delaware Draws Overflow Crowd ... of 200

No, we can't

After today he'll be lucky if he can draw flies.

Vice president Joe Biden is urging fellow Delaware Democrats to get voters to the polls for the midterm elections.

Biden headlined a Democratic rally in downtown Wilmington on Monday evening that drew about 200 people.

He was confident Democrats would hold on to the Senate seat that had been his for more than 30 years.

This seat could be one of the few Democrats will win today. Considering the Democrats made it a national race and smeared and impugned O'Donnell every chance they could, no doubt they'll revel in their smug superiority.

If O'Donnell wins, the flood gates are open.

Pollsters such as Gallup are saying that the mood of the electorate hicks around the hustings is unprecedented. So, put your ass in your hands and get thyself to ye olde neigborhood precinct and vote! Take your sorry-ass neighbor/s, too. You'll be glad you did.

A "birds and the bees" talk with your kids isn't complete without a discussion of oral sex, according to a new study that found a connection between oral sex and old-fashioned intercourse.

The three-year survey found that teens who had oral sex by the end of ninth grade were at the highest risk of having sexual intercourse during high school. These teens had a 25-percent chance of having intercourse by the end of ninth grade and a 50-percent chance by the end of 11th grade.

Meanwhile, teenagers who did not have oral sex until the end of 11th grade had only a 16-percent chance of having intercourse by the end of that school year.

The survey also found that most sexually active teenagers will start having oral sex and intercourse within the same six-month period.

Health care providers, parents and educators should directly address oral sex and its risks with teens, according to study researcher Bonnie Halpern-Felsher, a professor of pediatrics at University of California, San Francisco.

"I see most of the health policies out there and guidelines for preventive services talking about sex generally, but they do not specify oral sex. That is an important distinction because teens don't consider oral sex to be sex, and many are not aware of the risks involved," Halpern-Felsher said.

Nervous Barney Frank Schedules 'Election Night Event'

How much it must gall the arrogant Barney Frank that he has to lower himself to the point where he's begging seniors for votes a day out of the election.

With hours to go before Election Day, the two candidates running for Congress in Massachusetts' 4th district were out in force Monday drumming up some last minute support.

In a final campaign push - Massachusetts congressman Barney Frank rallied voters in New Bedford Monday morning. In what some call his toughest re-election fight ever, Frank asked a group of seniors to support his 16th run for the 4th District seat.

"I do fight for funding for st. Luke's hospital, St. Anne's hospital. For Route 24, for Route 18. Said Frank. "Historically this state and federal government hasn't treated Southeastern Massachusetts very fairly."

Well, whose fault is that? You've been their representative for three decades. Sound like he's admitting he can't get the job done.

Meanwhile, Frank seems nervous enough that he's scheduling an "election night event" tomorrow instead of a victory rally.

Mr. Frank will be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Newton on Tuesday night, but he is not going so far as to call it a victory party. The schedule released by his campaign Monday refers to it as an “election night event.”

I imagine his heckler boyfriend is bringing the doobies.

Beck to Grayson: 'I’m a Bit Concerned Because You Seem a Little Desperate'

The move by Mr. Beck comes just days after Mr. Grayson launched the “Glenn Beck, Mind Your Own Business” campaign, which encourages supporters to contribute to a special fund with the same name.

Mr. Grayson continues to trail Mr. Webster in the latest poll, which shows him trailing by 7 percent.

Pitiful: Obama's Final Election Push

Rumor has it he'll be popping up on to-be-announced shortwave radio stations in the wee hours of Wednesday morning urging one final push in Hawaii precincts.

The administration's last-minute push to turn out the vote is spurring some unconventional media outreach efforts. But none of them have been quite as unlikely as that announced on Monday -- President Obama will be doing an interview with Ryan Seacrest.

The "American Idol" co-host will be talking to Obama on Election Day for a segment on his radio show, 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest.' And in a Facebook post, he put out a solicitation for questions:

"Do YOU have a question for President Obama? What issues concern you most? Let us know in the comments below and Ryan might ask it in the interview!


Ryan's interview with the President airs tomorrow at 7:15am PST in Los Angeles, and will be immediately available afterwards at RyanSeacrest.com."

Tina Brown's Advice to Obama: Start Going to Church or Something

Indeed, a sound plan. Except for a couple of minor points. He hasn't had a church to go to for nearly two-and-a-half years, ever since he dispatched Jeremiah Wright under the bus. Plus, now that he's been campaigning for weeks he's got a lot of golf to catch up on.

Is this woman so naive to think Americans won't see Obama rushing to church every Sunday as a cynical ploy to help him win re-election? He should be more concerned with his failed policies instead of some cheesy photo ops.

As from Wednesday, I’d like the president to stop being so high-minded about avoiding corny symbolic theatrics and start playing to win. The absurd myth, for instance, that he's really a Muslim would be easier to knock out if he strode from the White House every Sunday with a big old Gutenberg Bible and marched his family—with the first daughters in adorable Sunday best—to the nearest Episcopalian church. Back in his Chicago Senate days, when he was seeking greater black credibility, Obama was happy enough to attend the Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ. What’s wrong with a bit of God-fearing symbolism of a different kind now? There was a reason Hillary Clinton showed up at the weekly Senate Prayer Breakfasts when she was trying to network across the aisles. “Worshipping in private,” as Obama does, comes off as just another form of annoying elitism.

Avoiding corny symbolic theatrics? What planet is this woman living on? His entire presidency has been one big theatrical production. Not only that, he and his wife have spent more time entertaining Hollywood types with White House parties, but Brown actually thinks they haven't been partying enough.

On the cultural-symbolic front, Obama has failed too to make the grand gesture—think of how meek his concert-and-arts initiatives have been, compared to the ones Jackie Kennedy foisted on Jack. Its strange to have a great writer-president mum on the arts.

A great writer-president? Wait, what? A great writer? Is she talking about the same Obama we know?

Rather than look with disdain at the vulgar theatrics of the Tea Party or try to capture the youth vote with an onslaught of cable comedy shows, Obama should go broad, not niche; megaphone, not dog whistle. Big gestures with a halo effect.

Yeah, maybe he ought to start making basketball picks on ESPN.

'They Suddenly Think Massachusetts is Going to Become Some Right-wing Tea Party State'

Honestly, I don't think there are many folks who believe a deep-blue state like Massachusetts is suddenly becoming a GOP stronghold, or in the words of this Democrat, a "right-wing tea party state." But if a day out from the midterms and a gubernatorial election the Democrats are scrambling to cling to power it speaks volumes about what's in store for them tomorrow nationally.

“The environment has shifted so much that even in strong Democratic states like Massachusetts, Republican candidates are waging successful campaigns,” said Tory Mazzola, spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, which has spent $662,000 against Democrat Bill Keating in the race for the seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-Quincy).

Outside groups, those that don’t coordinate with a candidate but aid their campaigns with ads, e-mails and mailings, have spent nearly $4 million on the 10th congressional district race between Keating and Republican Jeff Perry, more than almost any other House race in the country.

The NRCC’s push for Perry marks the first time the organization has spent money on a Massachusetts House race this decade, according to campaign finance records dating back to 2002. Mazzola credits Brown’s U.S. Senate victory and voter anger, noting that for the first time Republicans are running in nine of the state’s 10 congressional districts. “That’s a clear indication that people have had enough of one-party rule in Massachusetts,” he said.

The 10th district is also a priority for Democrats, too, said Shripal Shah, regional spokesman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “We’re going to make sure voters understand the choice they have on Tuesday,’’ he said.

Democratic media consultant Michael Shea said Republicans are still “intoxicated” by Brown’s win and misreading the electorate: “They suddenly think Massachusetts is going to become some right-wing Tea Party state. I have every hope and belief they are wrong, and so they are throwing a lot of money down the drain.”

If the GOP picks up a couple of House seats and defeat Patrick it's been money well spent. If Sean Bielat finishes off Barney Frank it'll leave the Democrats crushed.

Obama Helps Woman Buy House: 'Things Will Get Better'

Well, I guess you could say Barack Obama has kept a promise. He's made it easier for a woman to pay her bills, although I don't quite think this is how he intended it.

A struggling mom who wrote to President Obama about her financial hardship and received a handwritten response from him saying, "Things will get better!," has had to sell the letter to an autograph dealer to help pay for a house.

Jennifer Cline, 28, from Monroe, Mich., wrote to Obama describing how she and her husband had lost their jobs in 2007. She wrote, "I lost my job, my health benefits and my self-worth in a matter of five days."

Then she was diagnosed with two types of skin cancer, and she had no health insurance. She signed up for Medicaid, and treatment was successful. She went back to college after her unemployment benefit was extended. She added, "In just a couple of years we will be in a great spot."

Obama was shown the letter by an aide on Jan. 8. He wrote back on a White House-headed card he signed: "Thanks for the very kind and inspiring letter. I know times are tough, but knowing there are folks out there like you and your husband gives me confidence that things will keep getting better!"

But things didn't immediately improve for Cline, who's now agreed to sell the letter to autograph dealer Gary Zimet for $7,000. He tells us, "The letter is a historical document, and it is very hard for her to part with it. It's very timely considering the elections. But I don't think she's disillusioned with Obama -- this is just about surviving and practicality. She is selling it to pay for a house, which I think is poetic justice."

All she gets for a "historical document" is $7,000? Wait until the IRS comes after their cut.

'John is a Tyrant, Freaking Out Over Stories and Guests, and Kiran is Dumb as a Rock'

CNN anchor Kyra Phillips' pregnancy with John Roberts could bring big changes at "American Morning," insiders say. Roberts, who broadcasts from New York, is likely to move to Atlanta to be with his fiancée, who's expecting twins. Since CNN ex-president Jon Klein recently rebuilt the prime-time lineup, insiders say his replacement, Ken Jautz, will focus on daytime, and his first step will be to dismantle "American Morning," the lowest-rated cable morning show. We hear the staff is frustrated with co-anchors Roberts and Kiran Chetry. "John is a tyrant, freaking out over stories and guests, and Kiran is dumb as a rock," a staffer said. "He has a chip on his shoulder because he was considered the heir apparent to Dan Rather at CBS." During an interview with David Axelrod last month, Roberts snapped at Chetry on-air for typing too loud. Chetry could be the first go.

Maybe Roberts could be the heir-apparent to Rather at the obscure HDNet.
