It's not every day you see Congressmen showing off their abs. This is Aaron Schock, a Republican from Illinois who happens to be the youngest member of Congress.

Photos of Republican lawmaker Aaron Schock, R-Illinois, are creating buzz today after the youngest member of the House of Representatives was photographed for the cover of Men’s Health magazine showing off his washboard abdominal muscles.

Schock, who is 29 and not married, is featured in a spread pushing the two-term congressman’s challenge to Americans to lose weight and get healthier this summer with a Take the Fit for Life Summer Challenge.

“You have the power to change your life for the better. By making smart, simple food and fitness choices, you can take control of your health—and look and feel better than you have in years! (And you’ll even be helping our nation in the bargain.),” Schock writes in the June issue of Men’s Health. “Do it for yourself. Do it for your family. Do it for your country!”

Democrats, meanwhile, take their usual low road.

But the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) circulated its own version of the cover to reporters in an email titled "Schock: Who Needs Medicare When You’ve Got Abs Like These?"

"As Americans continue to sour on the Republicans’ extreme, partisan plan to end Medicare, Representative Aaron Schock (IL-18) employed an unusual tactic to distract from his vote. Schock took to the cover of Men’s Health where he exposed everything, but his drastic plans to end Medicare," reads the email.

Schock may be young, but the children reside over at the DCCC.

It's worth noting Schock's district is reportedly 26% obese, so hopefully he'll set a good example. It's not like he's out there saying "Let's Move" and then crushing cheeseburgers afterwards.

GOP Congressman a Target of Terror Plot, Liberalism Under Investigation

I blame MSNBC, CNN, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the leftwing blogosphere for fostering this climate of hate against Republicans.

Rep. Aaron Schock's (R-Ill.) office in Illinois state capital of Springfield was one of the targets of a planned terrorist attack, his office said Friday.

Michael C. Finton, known as Talib Islam, was arrested Wednesday after trying to detonate a van he believed was stuffed with explosives near the Paul Findley Federal Building in Springfield. Finton had been collaborating on the attack with an undercover FBI agent and is being charged with attempting to murder federal officers or employees and trying to detonate a weapon of mass destruction, according to the Associated Press.

"My office was notified today of the attempted terrorist attack on both the Federal Building and my Congressional Office in Springfield," Schock said in a statement. "I am incredibly grateful to the FBI for their fine work in preventing this terrorist attack."

Schock's office was a secondary target, according to an Associated Press report.

Finton, 29, converted to Islam in prison and said famed American Taliban operative John Walker Lindh was his hero. Finton also expressed a desire to fight Israelis in the Gaza Strip and received military training in Afghanistan. He was under federal supervision for months.

If the kneejerk left wants to blame conservatives for the killing of the census worker in Kentucky, then we'll be happy to play their little game.
