Peaceful Religious Men Admit Bomb Plot Role

They look like such fine, upstanding young men, don't they?

Well, they're admitting to having a role in a plot to bomb Heathrow, but aren't quite ready to divulge all.

Though the way things are going in Britain, they'll probably be walking free by the weekend.

Three British Muslims accused of plotting to blow up transatlantic planes flying out of Heathrow with liquid bombs admitted today attempting to cause explosions.

Abdulla Ahmed Ali, 27, Assad Sarwar, 28, and Tanvir Hussain, 27, admitted the offence at Woolwich Crown Court, in South-East London.

But they still deny that their bombs were part of a wave of suicide attacks on US-bound passenger jets using homemade devices made of hydrogen peroxide smuggled on board in Lucozade and Oasis soft drinks bottles.

Instead they claim they were only planning to set off small devices around London in protest at UK foreign policy and had no intention to kill or cause injuries.

The three men listed potential targets as the Houses of Parliament, Heathrow Terminal Three, other 'iconic' buildings or sites such as oil refineries.

The jury must now decide whether they - and five other defendants - are guilty of conspiracy to murder.

The three men also admitted conspiring to cause public nuisance by distributing videos threatening suicide bomb attacks in Britain.

Two of their co-defendants, Ibrahim Savant, 27, and Umar Islam, 30, also admitted conspiring to cause a public nuisance.

A man accused of plotting to blow up transatlantic airliners has claimed he was making a harmless “al-Qa'eda style” documentary which involved smuggling a bomb into Parliament as a demonstration against British foreign policy.

The story unfolded as one of the alleged plot leaders launched his defence at Woolwich Crown Court in South East London.

Abdulla Ahmed Ali, 27, a computer graduate from Walthamstow, East London, claimed the gang had no intention of killing anyone and believed that suicide attacks were against Islam.

He has already been seen by the jury in what was said to be a homemade “suicide video” describing himself as the “leader of this blessed operation” and warning his audience to expect “volcanoes of anger and revenge.”

The gang was under surveillance by MI5 which bugged the “bomb factory” and arrested Ali as he met another man in a council car park in August 2006.

But today he said: “I have seen a lot of documentaries over the years and we thought we should make our own.

”We also thought we should make threats and demands. Basically we wanted to get the message across that British foreign policy is not in the interests of the people of Afghanistan and Iraq and not in the interests of the British people.

”Only Tony Blair is now making millions of pounds and the people with the oil.”

Mr Ali said the idea was to copy the style of Islamic terrorists.

He said the “martyrdom videos” made by six of the accused including Ali, were really “propaganda videos.”

”In the style of al-Qa'eda militants we wanted to put the blame on foreign policy and make demands that they have to change foreign policy.

”People only seem to get involved if you affect them in some way.”

Yes, like involving the mass murder of thousands of innocents.

There were plenty of people unwittingly involved on 9/11 and they're all dead, asshole.

He said the “documentary” would also include clips of deaths in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine along with statements by politicians and would be edited together by a friend on his computer.

The men wanted to attract “mass media attention” by putting the documentary on Youtube, he said.

Where, no doubt, it would probably be widely viewed and kept there despite complaints.

Terror Plotter a George Galloway Fan

It appears one of these Islamist terror maggots in the UK may have been planning to go jihad with his baby, who he had filed a passport application for.

A terror cell leader plotting suicide attacks on passenger jets wanted to obtain a passport for his son, a court heard today.

Application papers signed by Abdulla Ahmed Ali, 27, on behalf of his baby boy were found at his Walthamstow home, a jury was told.

Mohammed Said Ali was nine-months-old when his father was arrested on suspicion of terrorist offences in August 2006.

Sick stuff.

Disturbing enough he's a fan of Osama bin Laden, but it seems he's also got a thing for the odious British hack George Galloway.

The jury also heard further evidence of extremist literature and other documents found at Ali's home. Several books advocating jihad and martyrdom were found in a child's cot in Ali's bedroom.

Among them were The Lofty Mountain by Sheikh Abdullah Azzam and Milestone by Sayyid Qutb.

Mr Wright said the first book inspired Osama bin Laden while the author of the second was executed for terrorist offences in Egypt.

Other items included books about the experiences of mujahideen in Afghanistan, an audio recording of a George Galloway speech and a piece of paper with internet site usernames and passwords.

Speaking of Galloway, he got bonked in the head by a stress ball while campaigning the other day. Hopefully it knocked a little sense into him, but I'm not holding my breath.

The London office worker who struck George Galloway on the temple with a rubber stress ball has been cautioned by police.

The unnamed 32-year-old man flung the toy at the Respect MP who was touring central London on the upper deck of his open top battle bus.

“It was a direct hit,” conceded a spokesman for Mr Galloway. The permatanned politician was knocked off his feet by the rubbery missile, which was thrown from the first floor window of an office block.

Mr Galloway, who has already bounced back from the twin humiliations of expulsion from the Labour Party and the Big Brother house, returned to campaigning almost immediately.
