Nothing like these environmental wackos lecturing us all about going green and saving energy, but when it comes to walking the walk?

Pfft. They could care less. It's all about moral preening. They don't give a rat's ass about the environment. If they did, they'd lead by example.

Maybe these Hollywood types ought to produce their electricity bills the next time they're cutting a PSA.

THEY may shout their green credentials from the rooftops, but some of Britain’s most prominent environmental champions are living in homes that produce up to half a ton of excess carbon dioxide a year.

An audit of properties, measuring heat loss, has revealed that Chris Martin, the pop star, Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, and Sir David Attenborough, the broadcaster, are among those who reside in homes that are “leaking” energy. Some lack even the most basic energy saving measures such as cavity wall insulation and double glazing.

Thermal images of the residences of 10 high-profile green campaigners found that their heat loss was either worse or no better than that found in the average family home.

Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, and his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, the actress, have both championed green issues. Paltrow backed the American “Act Green” energy conservation campaign, while Martin tried to offset CO2 emissions produced by his band’s second album by planting a forest of mango trees in India.

Yet the couple's £2.5m home in Belsize Park, north London, wastes 1,020kWh of heat a year. A spokesman for Martin refused to comment.

Hypocrites.

British Talk Show Host Fired After Urging Listeners to Vote for Boris Johnson

Talk radio must be really lame in the UK if you can be fired for recommending a candidate to your listeners.

Naturally, he's a rightwing host--I guess nobody listens to the left over there, either--and there's some ridiculous watchdog group that makes its business censoring what people can say.

Believe me, if the left could get away this this nonsense in this country, they'll do it in a heartbeat.

Imagine droll, unlistenable radio all day long (think NPR), with no Operation Chaos to drive the libs insane.

Controversial radio presenter James Whale has been sacked for urging his Talksport listeners to vote for Boris Johnson.

His comments during a show on March 20 had sparked a number of complaints to the broadcasting watchdog Ofcom.

There are clear rules forbidding broadcasters from election bias--and although the Ofcom investigation is yet to finish, Talksport mounted its own inquiry and dismissed the veteran presenter.

By the same token, if we actually did forbid broadcast outlets from pre-election bias, CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, CNN, and MSNBC would have gone out of business years ago.

Yorkshire-based Mr Whale, 56, had worked for the station since it was launched as Talk Radio in 1995.

His show went out between 10pm to 1am, Monday to Thursday .

An outspoken right-winger with a long history of courting controversy, he had considered standing for mayor himself, before publicly pledging support for Mr Johnson.

Apparently a majority of Londoners concur with Whale since Red Ken Livingstone was sent packing last week.

Maybe someone can organize a Save the Whale campaign on his behalf.

Conservatives Gain Power in UK Election

So while European countries more and more are turning to conservative candidates, leaders here in America we seem to be running the other way.

England is holding elections this week and one of the most prominent races if for the Mayor of London, but they are also having national elections.

BBC research suggests Labour won 24% of votes cast in England and Wales, behind the Tories on 44% and Lib Dems on 25%.

So far Labour has lost 226 councillors and key councils like Reading. Tory gains include Bury and North Tyneside.

Mr Brown insists his party will learn lessons. David Cameron called it a "big moment" for the Conservative Party.

The Labour party is considered liberal and was the party of Tony Blair. Tories are the conservatives and Lib Dems speak for themselves.

I am sure the liberals in this country are noticing this change in Europe. The pundits are also predicting that Ken Livingstone will lose his seat as mayor to Boris Johnson, the conservative candidate. It should make for some entertaining times in England.

And you thought American politicians were bad?

Over in England they are having a mayoral contest for the city of London. The current mayor is well known to folks who follow the spread of Islamic extremism across the globe. He is Ken Livingstone, normally referred to as Red Ken. He hasn't met a Muslim extremist he doesn't like.

Livingstone, a throwback to the heady days of the late '60s when revolution was in the air and on the airwaves, has welcomed Islamic extremists to London, and was suspended from his post for a month after comparing a Jewish reporter to a Nazi concentration camp guard. When the U.S. ambassador claimed diplomatic immunity from having to pay a "congestion charge" on cars entering central London, Livingstone called him a "chiseling little crook."

His opponent this time is Boris Johnson who is from the British Conservative party. Boris is quite a character too.

In a 2002 article in The Daily Telegraph, Johnson referred to Africans as "piccaninnies" (he apologized); he once offended Liverpudlians by saying they were wallowing in "victim status" after one of their own was taken hostage and killed in Iraq (he apologized), and he described the people of Papua New Guinea as cannibals and chief killers (he was sorry about that, too).

I think we can drop the word Great from in front of Britain now.
