Best Looking Crowd Ever at Yankee Stadium

Yankee Stadium has seen a lot of talent parade through the place over the years, but Saturday they really ratcheted it up a notch. How so? Why, they held a Victoria's Secret casting call there. My invitation must have gotten lost in the mail.
There were angels in the outfield at Yankee Stadium Saturday - and it had nothing to do with baseball.

About 2,000 wanna-be supermodels lit up the ballpark at an open casting call for Victoria's Secret.

"It's every girl's dream to be a Victoria's Secret model," said Angie Vazquez, 20, a willowy brunette from the Bronx.

She was one of 17 semifinalists who may have a shot at a slot at the lingerie company's celebrated televised fashion show Dec. 1.

"It's unreal. I'm so excited that I made it this far," said Vazquez, a waitress with no modeling experience who heard about the casting call from a friend.

The contestants formed a massive line into the stadium lobby, where they paraded by a panel of Victoria's Secret execs who rated them on poise and beauty.
No list was provided of who made the cut, but let's have a look at some more of the photos anyway.

Just a hunch, but I suspect these two are wondering where Derek Jeter's locker is. Then again, knowing Jeter, they're probably already familiar with him.

Who said being one of New York's Finest was a dirty job? Sure, the pay might suck, but there are some benefits. They probably volunteered for OT.

OK, I went through the photos are the above link and what do you know, Brazil looks like they may have another winner on their hands, the lovely Atalita Marais. Hell-ooooo!

Sure, go ahead and tell me that's not hot. OK, done trying. Then try again...

Ding ding ding, we have a winner!

More On the Dubious Victoria's Secret Lawsuit

When we noted this story last night we were a bit suspicious as to the validity of the lawsuit. Well, as it turns out, the suit is even more dubious than we thought, as noted here.
Earlier today, the Associated Press picked up on the
story concerning Victoria's Secret bras and formaldehyde
. Needless to say, we were taken aback that yet another news outlet has been taken in by a story that we've so thoroughly debunked in previous posts here at Formaldehyde Facts.
To no surprise, the media is ignoring this group's efforts to air their side of the story. Here's a rebuttal video they put together but was ignored (surprise!) by Good Morning America.

Thanks to Eric McErlain for the tip and link.

Victoria's Burning Secret

Geez, I'm a guy and even I know not to put a bra in the dryer. Well, at least I figured as much since my wife always hangs hers to dry.

Whatever. This story just gives me a good excuse to run a photo of the smoking hot Miranda Kerr.
Women in several states claim Victoria’s Secret bras gave them rashes and other skin problems, and a group of lawyers sought Wednesday to consolidate their cases against the lingerie chain.

Federal lawsuits filed in Louisiana, Florida, New Jersey and New York accuse Victoria’s Secret and its parent company, Limited Brands Inc., of negligently designing undergarments and misrepresenting the safety of their products.

Limited Brands has assured customers that Victoria’s Secret bras are safe.

Wednesday’s petition is limited to four cases already pending in federal courts, but plaintiffs’ lawyers said they are prepared to file more than 600 other cases once the panel rules on their bid to consolidate the litigation.

Jerilyn Amaya, 66, of West Palm Beach, Fla., one of the four plaintiffs, said the bras she wore gave her a “horrible rash” and hives.

“It kept burning and itching. I finally stopped wearing the bras,” she said. “It disappeared, but it still burns every once in a while.”

Plaintiffs’ attorneys suspect formaldehyde resins in the bras are responsible for the alleged ailments. Formaldehyde is a preservative found in many products; at elevated levels, it can irritate skin.
Not to be age-ist or anything like that, but maybe these bras aren't made for 66-year-old women.

Warning: Thongs Can Be Hazardous

Maybe 52-year-olds should avoid the "Sexy Little Thing" line.
As she was attempting to put on a Victoria's Secret thong, a Los Angeles woman claims that a decorative metallic piece flew off the garment and struck her in the eye, causing injuries and a new product liability lawsuit against the underwear giant. Macrida Patterson, 52, alleges that she was hurt last May by a defective "low-rise v-string" from the Victoria's Secret "Sexy Little Thing" line, according to a lawsuit filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court.
More here. Says here she's a traffic cop.
