'That Pimp Got What He Deserved'

Times are rough even for aspiring pimps. It's really a shame there isn't any video of this.
A pimp caught beating a woman was killed when his speeding getaway car collided with a garbage truck on a midtown street, police said Tuesday.

Mustafa Abdul-Qawiyy and one of his prostitutes were attacking the woman with a bat when cops spotted them at the corner of W. 52nd St. and Broadway just after 3 a.m., police said.

"Her head was bleeding and she was screaming 'Stop, stop,' but he just kept hitting her," said witness Robert Justice, 47.

As officers ran up, guns drawn, Abdul-Qawiyy, 42, and Fabienne Francois-Couch, 25, let their victim go and hopped into a waiting red 1996 Buick Roadster, police said.

Francois-Couch was behind the wheel, speeding east along W.52nd St. when they crossed into the path of a private sanitation truck, cops said.

Abdul-Qawiyy was killed instantly and Francois-Couch badly injured. She was listed in critical condition at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell.

"That man was just beating the [woman] like an animal," said Justice. "That pimp got what he deserved. I call it poetic justice."

Abdul-Qawiyy's victim was identified by police sources as Tiffany Raspberry, 20, of Brooklyn.

She suffered a broken arm in the beating but was released from St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in the hours after the attack.

Police sources said AbdulQawiyy, who lived on Staten Island, had just begun pimping out women. Raspberry denied knowing him when reached by a reporter late Tuesday.
