Dissent Is Healthy

Thursday, little Kommandante Markos, in another classic example of self-gratification, posted the results of an absolutely meaningless poll.

As noted in our earlier post, the Kooky Kult Kommandante wet his panties because Sen. Lieberman wouldn't waste his time commenting about the poll being furiously waved by the Grand Ayatollah of Koslamistan.

So, after twice singing Koslam über Alles and donning our brand new Comrade Che beret, we gleefully went to Koslamistan and cherry-picked some comments made about the little kommandante soothing his po' widdle wuffled feathers and Joe Lieberman's deliberate dissing of the New Face of the Democrat Party.

And the requisite shot because Lieberman is a Jooooooo.

Kosling Conspiracy Theory No.___

It should be an interesting weekend.
Modern political coverage is all about storylines, and once created, the media merely reinforces those storylines. And lo and behold, the vast majority of those storylines just so happen to be set by Republicans thanks to their massive media machine.
ROTFLMAO!!!
That's why Kerry -- a war hero -- can suddenly be "anti-troop" when that toady Boehner (who washed out of the navy in eight weeks because of a "bad back") can't possibly be brushing aside the deaths of 4,000 and the injuries of 30,000!
At least the little kommandante is consistent in the manner in which he shows his support of those who serve.

There Is No Truth; Only Koslam

Lamont would win rematch

The reference ColoDem makes to "subscribing" is an effort to feed the ego of little Kommandante Markos. He's put together a three-year re-education program for future members of the Kooky Kult of Koslam's Ministry of Propaganda. Apparently, the idea is to sucker his psychophants into financing it, rather than continue forking over some of his profits - profits generated by the volunteer efforts of the proletariat.

In a classic example of self-gratification, the little kommandante put some braggadocio on display.
Some people had questions about the subscription drive. Here's some answers:

Q: Should we be worried about the financial health of the site?

No. The site operates at very healthy profit margins. That's why I've been able to fund five fellows out of my own pocket, with real salaries, not the crap many in the progressive movement get. If the site faced a serious funding shortfall, "laying off" the fellows would be a first line of defense. But that's not even a concern at this point.

[...]

Q. How much do fellows get paid?

I respect the privacy of the fellows, so I won't share that information except to say that it's very competitive with the private sector, or way, way better than what is typical in the non-profit sector. I will also say that this year, I will spend over $300,000 of site revenues supporting the program. Without getting into the specific of site revenues, let me just say that this is the largest, by far, line item on my budget. And I am committed to maintaining at least that much next year.
$300,000/6=$50,000. How's that for respecting their privacy?

UPDATE from JWF: Shocka! Lieberman won't respond to the little guy.

Memo From The Leftisphere

Despite surge PR, a record number want out.

If Dems won't stand for what they believe in, on an issue in which they have 60 percent of the American people, what will they stand for?
A USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken Friday and Saturday finds that a White House push to spotlight progress in Iraq, including President Bush's surprise stop in Anbar province last week, hasn't fundamentally changed attitudes toward the war.

While a third of those surveyed say the "surge" of U.S. troops this year has made them more confident the United States will accomplish its goals, a majority calls the invasion a mistake and predicts the war will be lost.

A record 60% say the United States should set a timetable to withdraw forces "and stick to that timetable regardless of what is going on in Iraq."
Hear that Congress? That's not "ask Bush to perhaps make plans if he feels like it".

That's not "maybe we'll set a start deadline, but not worry about an end one."

That's not "give Bush his $200 billion and lots more war because if we don't, Republicans and David Broder might criticize us!"

That's not, "let's compromise on the issue and find 'common ground' were none exists."

That's not, "pass a bill, any bill, so long as it gets some Republican support."

That's not, "what can we do, the president will just veto it!"

That's not, "but the Washington Post might say something mean about us!"

That's not, "let's give them another Friedman Unit and another 600 dead G.I.s and another $100 billion down the tube" to see if maybe this time everyone gets their ponies.

That's not, "but 'supporting the troops' means keeping them in the Iraq meat grinder, rather than home, safe and sound with their families!"

MORE people, not less, think we need to get the f' out of Iraq even after the PR offensive they've waged to change public perception. Yet Democrats are acting defeated before Petreaus even gives his report. (And btw, where the heck is Obama? Still AWOL?)

Maybe the Chicago-born Salvadoran Oligarch should stick to voicing his support for gays in the military.

Read it all.

Unmasking Kommandante Markos

TXPoet & JennSierra at Ft. Hard Knox have a wonderful piece on Markos Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga, known by some as the Grand Ayatollah of the Kooky Kult of Koslam.
(from ABCNews) Markos: I was in the artillery. I was actually a fire direction specialist, which is kind of a headquarters position. You manage the logistical flow of the missile battery…It means that there’s three missile launchers. I was in a track vehicle. I was in charge of making sure that the vehicles were fueled — the launches were fueled, that the troops in the platoon were fed, that there was enough fuel, ammunition, that sort of thing. So making sure all the other details that make a platoon work.
Army of One, personified.

[official job description]

SERIOUSLY: Anyone who has been in the service knows that a Specialist 4th class or PFC is never “in charge” of any thing. Markos likes to use words to inflate his own importance. Although he claims not to be into self promotion, his choice of words betray him and really give insight into his problem. Markos is a short 5’7” and he doesn’t like it. He was a soldier. Officers both commissioned and non-commissioned are “in charge;” the others simply follow orders!
In other words, Private Zúñiga was assigned duties similar to that of a high school kid on his first job at Wienerschnitzel, McDonald's, Burger King or the local Whoop-de-doodle -- he was a gofer.

Or, as some folks would say, all around butt-boy.

Kommandante, YOU GOT MAIL!

You won't be disappointed, read it all.
