NAACP Blasts CNN's Lack of Diversity

It's tough to tone down the glare from that sea of white faces.

In a press release issued this morning, the NAACP condemned 24-hour cable news channel CNN for its recently announced prime time news lineup, calling the lack of diversity in its collection of news anchors a “glaring omission.”

“The NAACP is deeply concerned with the lack of African American journalists in prime time news, both on cable and national news shows,” NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said in the statement. “We have come to expect this from the likes of Fox News, but not other networks. While we understand that news is now a 24-hour cycle, most Americans get their news from the morning and evening prime time broadcasts.”

The new CNN news lineup, which was announced yesterday, features John King, Anderson Cooper, Erin Burnett and Piers Morgan.

Of course Fox employs more blacks, as well as liberals, than CNN employs conservative voices. But hey, they have to work that swipe in at Fox somehow.

Curiously escaping their ire was lily-white MSNBC.

Drunken Rangel Aide Has Restaurant Meltdown: 'You're a Disgrace to our Race'

I guess the stress of working for lowlife Charlie Rangel is getting to this guy. That or he's got a really, really bad attitude to begin with. Now what did this charming fellow lose it over? Why, a misplaced umbrella, of course.

Charlie Rangel's deputy chief of staff, Geoffrey Eaton, threw such a fit over a missing umbrella during Thursday night's downpour at Harlem's popular Chez Lucienne restaurant that management had to call police to escort him out.

According to witnesses, Eaton, 52 -- who's also president of the NAACP's Midtown branch -- flew into a rage after a meal alone at the bar of the Lenox Avenue bistro when the staff couldn't find the umbrella he insisted he'd left by the door on his way in.

"He yelled at everyone, even the customers," said the manager on duty, who asked not to be named. "We said, 'We'll give you another umbrella.' Other people offered . . . we said, 'If that's not enough, we'll pay for your cab home.' Because I know him, I let him stay for a while. I talked to him nicely, as I do with all of my customers. We tried to calm him down. I have never seen him that way. Maybe something went a little wrong."

BET.com contributor Bevy Smith, who was dining separately at the bistro, told us, "He cursed out the entire waitstaff, and everyone was trying to appease him. He was like, 'Bleep that, I want a bleeping umbrella, why the bleep can't you find it?' "

"I said, 'Shhhh.' He yells at me, 'Bleep you, and mind your own bleeping business . . . you're a disgrace to our race.' "

After 15 minutes of Eaton's ranting and raving, the manager called cops to escort him out. A source told us employees later found his umbrella in a corner. Eaton was not arrested and left in a huff.

Smith, a former fashion director for Vibe and Rolling Stone, said, "I was appalled that someone who is a president at the NAACP and works with Charlie Rangel could behave like that in a public place and towards women. He was clearly intoxicated."

Maine Governor to NAACP: 'Kiss My Butt'

Count Paul LePage as a new favorite of ours.

Maine Republican Gov. Paul LePage is keeping up his reputation for blunt language, telling an unhappy NAACP chapter that they can "kiss my butt."

The governor made the comments to CNN affiliate WCSH after being asked about criticism he received from the organization for refusing to attend an event it is sponsoring on behalf of Martin Luther King Day.

"They are a special interest. End of story...and I'm not going to be held hostage by special interests. And if they want, they can look at my family picture. My son happens to be black, so they can do whatever they'd like about it," LePage said.

The governor has an adopted son from Jamaica, according to WSCH.

Specifically, the NAACP event involved meeting with black prisoners at the state prison. Le Page maintains the organization rejected his requirement to meet with all prisoners at the event.

"That wasn't acceptable to them," LePage said. "So, tough luck."

Going to be tough playing the race card on a guy with a black son, but I'm sure they'll find a way.

Racist USDA Hack Speaks With NAACP

Andrew Breitbart drops another nuclear bomb on the race pimps. Of course the networks (except Fox) won't touch this, but it's just a reminder that we're now dealing with a federal government whose attitude is only slightly better than Robert Mugabe.

If there's justice is this world -- a huge if -- this racist pig would be unemployed by the end of business today and would be sued by the white farmer.

No doubt the first reaction from the racists at the NAACP will be to ask how Breitbart got the tape and demanding to know who "snitched" on this bloated bigot, who now moves to the ehad of the class as the face of the Obama Administration.

Update: Wow, she actually resigned. The NAACP is apparently unavailable for comment.

Memo to Racist NAACP: Clean Up Your Own House

If the NAACP is so concerned with alleged racism in the Tea Party, maybe it's time they confront it within their own ranks, in particular with Calypso Louie and the Nation of Islam.

During the great March On Washington in August of 1963, the Nation of Islam was not invited. Its members were not bothered because Malcolm X was to become a bit more famous by ridiculing the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and the whole affair as a meaningless piece of theater held in check by the almighty white man.

But by the end of the decade, the civil rights movement had fallen to pieces shortly after King's assassination in 1968. Black Power emerged and whites were discouraged from joining or attempting to join anything supposedly free of white control.

Integration was out, self-segregation was in. That's the way it actually was.

This was intellectual pollution. It is now known as "identity politics." A toxic form of pretension, it had certain memorable ingredients. They were all conveniently superficial. Big hair styles, name changes, African clothing, combat boots, reading the combative works of Frantz Fanon and just about anyone from anywhere in the world ready to call white people dirty names and blame capitalist Western culture for the troubles of the planet.

"Unity" became the loud call and was thought capable of putting color prejudice in its place. All black people needed to do was cease going in a number of separate directions. It was no longer time to come to Jesus; it was time to come together! Color was the ultimate reality, they said; the white man could maintain power only if black people kept spinning their wheels on separate paths.

That was the point at which previously unacceptable racist cults like the Nation of Islam became acceptable. Those brothers and sisters must have been doing something right because the white man didn't like them. Hmmm. Shoddy thinking, but pervasive.

Many have now conveniently forgotten just what The Nation of Islam believed and why it was an offense to serious political engagement. Before falling out with the cult, Malcolm X clarified its beliefs as the Nation's most popular spokesman. His attacks on the cult seem to have led directly to his assassination, if we are to believe what Louis Farrakhan says in the film "Brother Minister."

According to the X-man, the Nation had taught him nothing but lies he felt compelled to repudiate. The Nation believed that the white man was a "grafted" creature made in a laboratory by a mad black scientist named Yakub. The loony scientist did the dirty deed 6,000 years ago, intent on destroying the world. "Mother ships" were circling the Earth and waiting for the cosmic order to rain fire on the United States, which was prophesied to burn for 777 years. And so on.

Neither King nor any reputable people doing serious work would have anything to do with the Nation of Islam. It was too racist and too much of an intellectual embarrassment.

Today we've got the embarrassment of the President of the United States belonging for 20 years to a cult-like hate church before tepidly denouncing it. Had those tapes of Jeremiah Wright never surfaced he's still be a member. But we're all supposed to do contortions over some fringe elements of the Tea Party while ignoring pure racism in the form of Farrakhan, the NAACP and these maniacs from the Black Panthers. Compounding the problem is you've got a media either completely ignorant of this or just too plain lazy to investigate.

Maybe The NAACP and SPLC Along With DHS and DOJ Ought to Look Into the NBPP

Is that enough acronyms for you? After watching this video clip posted by Breitbart from a meeting that the New Black Panther Party had in Atlanta you do have to wonder why we never hear about them being highlighted in any DHS memos like the Tea Partiers are. The clip features Eric Holder's BFF King Shamir Shabazz.

I am familiar with Malik Shabazz since he likes to come around every so often and try to incite riots in the black neighborhoods of south Atlanta, which so far have not netted any results.

For those that don't know the Southern Poverty Law Center, they are another progressive civil rights organizations which includes veterans, Tea Party members, Republican voters and any white person living in the south on their list of militant groups and if you drill down far enough on their web site you will see the New Black Panthers listed on their state by state lists, but you won't find them listed under either their groups, ideology, or persons links. They have tried to ban the Confederate flag from NASCAR races and label all the groups as right wing. You know groups like the Nation of Islam.

'It's Hard for the NAACP to Believe This Was a Mistake'

Looks like some teachers in Los Angeles having some mischievous fun with Black History Month are in hot water.

Three Los Angeles elementary school teachers accused of giving children portraits of O.J. Simpson, Dennis Rodman and RuPaul to carry in a Black History Month parade have been removed from their classrooms, a school district spokeswoman said Wednesday.

Children from other classes at the school displayed photos of more appropriate black role models, such as Nelson Mandela, Harriet Tubman and President Obama, Los Angeles Unified School District spokeswoman Gayle Pollard-Terry said.

The incident occurred Friday at Wadsworth Avenue Elementary School in South Los Angeles, where the student body is more than 90 percent Latino.

District Superintendent Ramon Cortines placed the teachers - all white men who teach first, second and fourth grades - on administrative leave on Tuesday while an investigation is conducted, Pollard-Terry said.

"The superintendent will not let anyone make a mockery out of Black History Month," she said.

The issue was brought to district officials' attention by the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People after the organization received a complaint early Monday, chapter President Leon Jenkins said.

Jenkins said he felt the teachers acted in concert to mock black heroes and children's innocence.

"These are not the people we want our young people to emulate or believe these people represent the best of the African-American community," Jenkins said. "It's hard for the NAACP to believe this was a mistake."

Granted, some parent don't really seem to care.

Sharon Tinson, who has two daughters at the school and attended Friday's celebration, said she had been surprised to see Simpson displayed in the parade. But she noted that Simpson, like Rodman, was a great athlete before falling from grace. RuPaul simply has an alternative lifestyle, she added.

She noted the event also included a tribute to pop singer Michael Jackson, who has also had a checkered career.

"I kind of laughed at it," Tinson said. "I wasn't offended."

Fourth Grade Fight Club

Need another reason to home school your children? Well, have a look at what went on in a Queens, NY, elementary school. Naturally the "teacher" who presided over this atrocity can't be fired because of his cushy union protection. He may need a lot more than union protection once this story circulates.

The first rule of fourth grade - no talking about fight club.

A Queens teacher turned his classroom into a boxing arena for two feuding students, telling the boys to settle their beef with their fists as their stunned classmates watched the bizarre spectacle, authorities said yesterday.

And to make sure no one found out his twisted teaching technique, the instructor, Joseph Gullotta, 29, allegedly supplied the kids with excuses for the nurse to explain away any injuries.

In one corner was a 10-year-old. His opponent was a year younger. The Post is withholding the kids' names.

Before beginning the match at the impromptu fight club at PS 65 in Ozone Park, Gullotta instructed a girl to close the classroom door. He ordered the rest of his pupils to back up and make way for the battle, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

The two combatants came out swinging and then began wrestling.

During the bout, the older boy's head rammed into the younger one's mouth. The younger boy suffered a cut lip; the older one, a bruised head.

"When two fourth-graders became involved in a verbal dispute, their teacher allegedly told one of the students that he should 'take it out' on another student," Brown said.

"When parents send their children off to school, their teachers have an obligation to provide a safe environment for them."

Teacher's aide Abraham Fox, 43, was in the classroom during the clash, but did nothing to break it up, the DA charged.

Neither student was offered a visit to the school nurse, despite Fox's observation that the 9-year-old might need stitches, Brown said.

Then out came the schoolbooks for two periods of more traditional instruction before Gullotta finally allowed the younger boy to visit the nurse.

These two were actually charged with crimes but not yet dismissed.

Gullotta and Fox were charged with two counts each of acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 and could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

Fox was suspended without pay; Gullotta was reassigned to a rubber room.

People answering the door at the Long Island homes of Fox and Gullotta declined to comment.

You can have one outrage after another at these NYC public schools and despite repeated failures the unions and others go out of their ways to keep the status quo.

You'd think the NAACP would be leading a fight for better schools for these kids. Instead, it's teamed up with the teachers -- at the students' expense. It claims the closures discriminate against minority and special-needs kids.

Only the NAACP knows its true reasons for joining the suit, but perhaps UFT payments it got over the years had something to do with it: In its latest US Labor Department filing, for instance, the union reported funneling some $15,000 to the NAACP through July 31, 2009.

It's heartbreaking that so many minority and other kids have endured such abysmal schools for so long -- and sad indeed to see a group like the NAACP join a move to keep them there.

Yet anyone who complains is called racist.

'I See John Liu Here - He's Been the Little Asian Boy Running Around With Us a Long Time'

Can you imagine the uproar if a Republican uttered a racial slur such as this? All hell would break loose, the offender would be drummed out of office and left for dead in a smoldering pile, quivering and trembling, begging the NAACP and any other outraged group for forgiveness.

But in this case, the offender is a vile, nasty NAACP honcho, a woman with a long track record of bigoted, incendiary comments, so it's OK, I guess.

A top civil rights leader called Democratic controller nominee John Liu "the little Asian boy" who's been "running around" with the NAACP for years, as Liu poked a bit of fun at his own heritage on Saturday.

Speaking before the Rev. Al Sharpton's birthday party, Hazel Dukes noted that Liu - elected the city's first Asian-American councilman in 2001 - was on hand for the festivities.

"I see John Liu here - he's been the little Asian boy running around with us a long time [in] the NAACP," Dukes, president of the NAACP New York State Conference, warmly said to laughter during Sharpton's weekly radio broadcast. "But Rev. [Sharpton], he was a good guy, so we said, 'Come on, come on, come on - we can make you what you want to be,'" Dukes continued to more chuckles and applause as Liu, 42, sat on the stage with a bemused smile.

The Taiwan-born, Queens-bred Liu, who came to the United States with his family at age 5, won the Sept. 15 primary and later defeated rival Councilman David Yassky (D-Brooklyn) in the Sept. 29 runoff. Liu enjoyed strong support from the Asian-American community and other ethnic minority voters.

However, he has stressed that he never meant to be the first Asian elected to the Council and has reached out to New Yorkers of all backgrounds in his bid to become controller.

Liu apparently was not overly concerned with Dukes' comments. His spokeswoman said he "is a lifetime member of the NAACP. He has a great relationship with its leadership and many other prominent civil rights leaders."

Of course, let's just see how long it takes for Liu, Sharpton and Dukes to cry raaaaacism once he's criticized for his job performance.

It should give New Yorkers pause to consider who Liu has be "running around" with, considering he was basically installed in office by the Working Families Party and ACORN.

Obama Makes Appearance at Strip Club

Well, not Obama himself, but a certain famous image of him. Naturally, it's raaaaacist!

About three dozen people attended a lunchtime protest today outside a downtown Richmond strip club that has a new banner depicting President Barack Obama as the Joker of “Batman” movie fame.

Virginia NAACP Executive Director King Salim Khalfani told the protesters that his group arranged the protest because it took offense to “the abomination that’s on the wall behind us.“

The poster, unfurled over the weekend from the roof of Club Velvet at 15th and East Main streets, is about 8 feet wide by 10 feet tall. Looming over the busy intersection, the poster shows Obama’s face superimposed over that of Heath Ledger, who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of the Joker in the Batman sequel “The Dark Knight.“

Obama’s face on the poster has the same eye black and smeared red lipstick that Ledger made famous in the movie. Below Obama’s face is the word “socialism” in large, black, bold letters.

Club owner Samuel J.T. Moore III declined to be interviewed but released a statement saying he put up the poster as part of his constitutional right to free speech.

Moore, who identified himself as a Libertarian, said he was unhappy with the direction of Obama’s eight-month-old administration, particularly on financial issues.

“This country is going to hell in a handbag,“ Moore said, “and the current administration is making things irreversibly worse.“

Hell in a handbag?

Seems like Moore has more things to worry about that the NAACP and the country going to hell in a handbag.

Moore’s club is awaiting a state Alcoholic Beverage Control hearing on alleged violations. Earlier this year Moore was convicted of three misdemeanor charges related to having sex with a minor and another woman at his apartment in the club, and filming it illegally.

I see white people

Lack of diversity, of course, meaning they want to see more black people, just for the sake of it. But that's not racist, of course.

Here's a suggestion for these racial grievance-mongers: Just put on any news channel and you'll see endless fawning and sucking up to a black guy. Well, he's half black, and if you haven't noticed, he's the King President-elect.

Nearly a decade after the NAACP condemned a "virtual whiteout" in broadcast TV, the civil rights group said major networks have stalled in their efforts to further ethnic diversity on-screen and off.

Television shows of the future could be even less inclusive because of a failure to cultivate young minority stars and to bring minorities into decision-making positions, NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said.

The effect on the country could be profound, Jealous said.

"This is America: So goes TV, so goes reality. We don't think it's any accident that before we had a black president in reality, we had a black president on TV," he said, referring to the chief executive portrayed by Dennis Haysbert on Fox's "24."

Not only that, but his little brother Wayne also became president, so there.

A "critical lack of programming by, for or about people of color" can be traced in part to the lack of minorities who have the power to approve new series or make final creative decisions, said Vicangelo Bulluck, executive director of NAACP's Hollywood bureau.

Oh, sorry about calling them black. My bad. People of color. Forgot about that one.

Court Rejects NAACP Suit To Extend Virginia Voting Hours

Don't worry, though, expect them to keep trying this all over the country. If voters aren't able to get out and vote in the allotted time, then sue to keep the polls open as long as possible. To get the proper amounts of votes to declare victory, of course.

If an Obama victory is in doubt, create confusion and chaos, then you can claim the election was stolen.

A federal judge Monday refused to order any last-minute changes to Virginia's voting procedures in response to allegations by the NAACP that the state is not prepared to handle the predicted historic voter turnout in Tuesday's election.

But U.S. District Judge Richard L. Williams will consider Tuesday a separate request by Republican presidential nominee John McCain to allow overseas absentee ballots an extra 10 days to arrive in Virginia.

State officials said Monday afternoon that they were relieved that Williams did not order extended polling hours, more paper ballots or the moving of equipment among precincts, as the NAACP had requested.

The lawsuit, filed last week, contends that the state is violating the U.S. and state constitutions by not providing enough voting machines, poll workers and polling places, particularly in precincts with large minority populations. The shortages could result in long lines and lost votes, the suit says.

"We are urging all voters to stand in line," NAACP President Ben Jealous said after the ruling. "Americans have waited 230 years for this -- a multi-gender, multi-generational, multiracial [campaign]. This is a big day. Stay in line."

The states go through elections every year and in 2008 there's no excuse for incompetence. But voters also need to be prepared to stand in line if need be.

Isn't your vote worth it?

Still, expect a flurry of stories about extending hours once we get to closing times around the country tonight.

Felons for Obama

The LA Times has an item on Barack Obama specifically targeting the black vote while trying not to alienate white voters.

Of course, buried deep in the story is how he's using the radical group ACORN to do this along with the allegedly non-partisan NAACP. Meanwhile, there's a huge effort on to register convicted felons and those who've been sentenced yet are not yet serving time.

Change!

In an ironic twist, the Obama campaign can thank Florida's Republican Governor Charlie Crist for helping register convicted felons.

In a political twist, Democrats can thank a Republican for empowering one new group of voters: Florida felons. Gov. Charlie Crist last week announced that, thanks to a new rule he enacted, about 115,000 felons who had completed their sentences had become eligible under his administration to have their civil rights restored. Liberal groups such as People for the American Way hope to track down even more who could have their rights restored in time to permit them to register and vote in November.

Experts say felons are disproportionately black and, if they can be found, more likely to be Obama backers. This provides a huge potential; about 1.1 million felons in Florida were ineligible to vote in 2004, according to a 2006 book by sociologists Jeff Manza and Christopher Uggen. Here too the potential for gains has risk: It could open a door for Republicans to portray Democrats as soft on crime.

The push for new and nontraditional voters is so targeted and aggressive that an NAACP official in Ohio said her organization plans to pursue individuals who are incarcerated but who have not yet been tried or sentenced and, therefore, under state law, remain eligible to vote.

The group is also tracking felons who often don't realize that, in Ohio, they are eligible to vote as soon as they leave prison.

Ex-offenders are "just everywhere," said Jocelyn Travis, who heads the Ohio NAACP's voter outreach program. "People who have a felony or criminal background are throughout our community, and they don't realize that they have the right to vote."

In addition, a coalition of liberal advocacy groups, led by the Assn. of Community Organizations for Reform Now, is trying to register 1.2 million voters -- with a special emphasis on blacks.

While the NAACP is nonpartisan and its officials say their efforts to register new voters are not specifically designed to help Obama, they say there is an added excitement among potential new voters.

I wonder how the reporter kept a straight face with that last part.

The NAACP is nonpartisan?

As for ACORN, they and Obama go way back.

What if Barack Obama’s most important radical connection has been hiding in plain sight all along? Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn), the largest radical group in America. If I told you Obama had close ties with MoveOn.org or Code Pink, you’d know what I was talking about. Acorn is at least as radical as these better-known groups, arguably more so. Yet because Acorn works locally, in carefully selected urban areas, its national profile is lower. Acorn likes it that way. And so, I’d wager, does Barack Obama.

This is a story we’ve largely missed. While Obama’s Acorn connection has not gone entirely unreported, its depth, extent, and significance have been poorly understood. Typically, media background pieces note that, on behalf of Acorn, Obama and a team of Chicago attorneys won a 1995 suit forcing the state of Illinois to implement the federal “motor-voter” bill. In fact, Obama’s Acorn connection is far more extensive. In the few stories where Obama’s role as an Acorn “leadership trainer” is noted, or his seats on the boards of foundations that may have supported Acorn are discussed, there is little follow-up. Even these more extensive reports miss many aspects of Obama’s ties to Acorn.

Speaking of hardcore Communists, they're crawling all over Obama's website. Good thing he'll be reintroducing himself to America soon. Maybe he can toss the current incarnation under the bus, even though a bus running over an empty suit won't cause much of a ripple.

Louisiana Democrat: 'Talk to you later, Buckwheat'

Those wacky Democrats are at it again.

La. pol's 'Buckwheat' remark sparks ire

HOUMA, La. - A white state lawmaker in a runoff election called a black civil-rights veteran who had helped her campaign "Buckwheat," prompting the NAACP to urge voters to kick her out of office.

Rep. Carla Blanchard Dartez, a Democrat, acknowledged that she ended a Thursday night conversation with Hazel Boykin by saying, "Talk to you later, Buckwheat." Dartez had been thanking Boykin for driving voters to the polls.

Buckwheat, a black child character in the "Little Rascals" comedies of the 1930s and '40s, is viewed as a racial stereotype.

Boykin, 75, helped desegregate restaurants and the parish school system in the 1960s. Her son, Jerome, is president of the Terrebonne Parish chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

"I've never had no one talk to me that way and I considered it a racial slur," Hazel Boykin said. "I know the meaning of it, it's just like the N-word."

Jerome Boykin said Monday he planned to ask voters to cast ballots against Dartez, who faces Republican Joe Harrison in Saturday's runoff.

"At this point, the NAACP is not concerned about the Democratic Party or the Republican Party. If a Republican is elected because of her racist remarks, that's her responsibility," he said of Dartez.

Speaking of slurs, what the heck is Bill Clinton babbling about?

In South Carolina this morning, Bill Clinton said his wife can handle the criticism by her presidential rivals. "Even though those boys have been getting kinda tough on her lately, she can handle it."

Funeral for a Word

This may well be one of the dumbest spectacles to come along in some time.

NAACP to give 'n-word' a funeral

Holding symbolic funerals to demonstrate the end of a racially discriminatory practice is common practice for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People when they begin a campaign. In the 1960s, the NAACP held a funeral for the segregationist Jim Crow policies in the South, and most recently held a funeral for voter apathy.

"The funeral for the 'n-word' has been part of the NAACP national programming for the last several months," said the group's spokesman Richard McIntire.

He said the first one was held at the Mid-Atlantic regional conference in Chattanooga, Tenn., followed by a second at the New England regional conference in Hartford, Conn.

The campaign emerged after radio personality Don Imus made disparaging remarks about the Rutgers women's basketball team.

They're going to milk this Imus thing in perpetuity, apparently.

I haven't bothered wasting time on Don Imus and his idiotic comments last week, but earlier today he really dug himself a hole and then later did a radio spot with the racist thug Al Sharpton.

Don Imus lashed out at the Rev. Al Sharpton and the chairwoman of the congressional black caucus today, telling them: "I can't get any place with you people!"

The besieged radio shock jock had spent most of his syndicated morning radio show apologizing for calling Rutgers women's basketball players "nappy-headed hos" last week.

Imus' contrition campaign skidded off the road in a horrific foot-in-mouth crash on Sharprton's [sic] radio show a few hours later.

Hot Air has video of his spot with Sharpton. Meanwhile, calls for his firing continue.

James E. Harris, president of the New Jersey chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, demanded Sunday that Imus "resign or be terminated immediately."

Allison Gollust, a spokeswoman for MSNBC, said the network considers Imus' comments "deplorable" and was reviewing the matter.

Karen Mateo, a spokeswoman for CBS Radio - Imus' employer and the owner of his New York radio home, WFAN-AM - said the company was "disappointed" in Imus' actions and characterized his comments as "completely inappropriate."

The low-rated MSNBC is probably reveling in the attention, considering some of the addlebrained morons they employ in their "news" division.

UPDATE: He's been suspended by MSNBC.
