Van Tossed Under the Bus

Can't say we didn't see this one coming. I was a bit premature, however.

The Washington Post says the resignation of Obama's Communist Truther pal comes after weeks of controversy. Hmm. Then why did most of the media ignore this controversy?
White House environmental adviser Van Jones resigned Saturday after weeks of controversy stemming from his past activism.

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, said in a statement announcing his resignation just after midnight Saturday. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."
A historic fight for clean energy? What the hell is this maniac babbling about?
He continued: "I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.' But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future."
Across the political spectrum? What, from the far left to the hardline Communist?

More fallout here.

Giuliani Ambushed by Truther

A maniacal moonbat, probably a fan of Rosie O'Donnell or Ron Paul (maybe both) accosted Rudy Giuliani at a fundraiser and quickly got off into Truther territory.
Afterward, a young woman claiming to be the relative of a Sept. 11, 2001, firefighter who died when the towers collapsed, asked Giuliani why he allegedly told Peter Jennings the towers would not fall that day, but did not stop the rescue efforts of firefighters and police officers.

The woman claims Giuliani knew the towers would fall, and allowed rescuers to go to their deaths. She asked him, "How do you sleep at night?"
Video here.

I didn't realize Bellevue let them out on weekends.

When did we get to the point where crazy people are called "activists"?

UPDATE: Allahpundit has a Giuliani roundup; also at LGF, The Jawa Report.

Warriors Demolish Mavs

It what is the greatest upset in NBA playoff history, the Golden State Warriors not only defeated the Dallas Mavericks, owners of a 67-15 record enetering the playoffs, they completely humiliated then, winning Game 6 in blowout fashion last night.
What happened in Oakland on Thursday night climaxed the most improbable playoff series the league has ever seen. Dallas had won 67 games to the Warriors' 42 during the regular season. They were the all-conquering masters, talking boldly of returning to the NBA Finals, while the Warriors clawed desperately into the eighth and final playoff spot on the last day of the season. That 25-game difference is what makes it historic -- and not just for the NBA. Neither the National Hockey League nor Major League Baseball has seen a disparity that great.
Making it even more delicious is we get to laugh at 9/11 Truther moron Mark Cuban, who deserves nothing but ridicule. Hey Mark, how's that Dan Rather thing working out?

They're not taking things well in Dallas.

Deval Patrick and The Truthers

It's hard to believe Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick would be dumb enough to allow nonsense like this to remain on a site with his name on it, but it's apparently been up for at least five days, according to Michael Graham (via Wizbang!).
9/11 is being used to justify war after war and the coming state of martial law in America. 9/11 was clearly a fraud conducted by members of our own government in an effort to take over the world. Much like Operation Northwood’s, in 1962, 9/11 was scripted by a group within our government to create fear and allow for a doctrine of preemptive war against nations that are geostrategically important to our imperialistic desires.

Some of the issues at hand:

- PNAC (The Project for the New American Century) a conservative think-tank, whose founders include many within the current administration. This group published a document calling for a "new Pearl Harbor" prior to 9/11.

- PNAC members referred to 9/11 as an "opportunity" for change post 9/11

- WTC 7, 47 Story, steel framed, building that collapsed on 9/11. Building 7 fell at near free fall speed, and like WTC1 and WTC2, appeared to be a controlled demolition.

- Bush's reaction at Booker T Washington Elementary the morning of 9/11. While claiming to have seen the first plane strike live, despite it not being televised until the next day, Bush was allowed to remain at the school for 34 min after the beginning of the attack. This was despite standard secret service protocol to remove the president during a time of attack.

- Flight 77 hitting the Pentagon. It is a matter of common sense, and public record that the Pentagon is the most well defended building in the world. Despite this, the "official story" has a commercial airliner being able to hit it without a shot being fired.

- Hijackers alive post 9/11. At least 7 of the "hijackers" have been interviewed by major news networks.

This lunacy has been going mainstream now, especially with certain idiots on television. But for the governor of a state, even one as liberal as Massachusetts, to give it tacit support, is really beyond the pale. Says Graham:
This is his campaign, his money, his name. And yet, as of this writing, the governor has chosen to leave this vile, anti-Semitic, America-bashing 9/11 idiocy up for five days. It’s been debated on my radio show, written about in the Boston Herald, and the entire Web site is monitored by the staff of his committee. Why is this nonsense still there?

The conspiracy theorist in me suggests that Patrick needs these netroot nuts so much, he’s willing to abide their anger. They may be irrational and hateful, but they show up at campaign events. They send e-mails. They call legislators.
UPDATE: If the link above doesn't show enough lunacy, wade into some of the comments. Beyond belief.
