Mystery Man Celebrates 9/11 By Self-Detonating in Copenhagen Hotel

Must be one of those radical Christianists.

A suspected terrorist detonated an explosion in a Danish hotel ahead of the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, it emerged today.

The blast at the Hotel Jorgensen in central Copenhagen injured only the suspect, who sustained burns to his face and arms.

Although small, last night’s explosion prompted Denmark to today raise its terror alert level over fears more serious attacks could take place.

Security alerts were raised in other parts of the world too, with France’s counter-espionage agency admitting the threat to French citizens had never been higher.

In Copenhagen, the suspect, who remains in hospital, has so far chosen not to cooperate with the police and his identity is not yet known.

Police say the man appeared to be European or North African and around 40 years old and spoke excellent English.

European or North African? Well, that narrows it down. He obviously was enraged by threats of Koran burnings or something.

Meanwhile, in France, the country’s spy chief Bernard Squarcini said that France's history as a colonial master in North Africa, its military presence in Afghanistan and a proposal aimed at banning full-covering face veils in public all make the country a prime target for certain radical Islamist groups.

The risk of an attack is now as high as it was in 1995, before deadly attacks on the Paris Metro by Algerian Islamic extremists, he said.

‘Objectively, there are reasons for worry. The threat has never been as high’ as now, the interview quotes Squarcini as saying.

‘We foil an average of two (planned) attacks a year, but one day or another, we're going to get hit.’

It's all about tolerance and building bridges, we're told.

Danish police are downplaying reports the mysterious man of unknown origin was planning to attack the newspaper that dared to publish the Mohammed cartoons that so greatly offended the delicate sensibilities of peace-loving Islamists.

Foldager said police are struggling to identify the man, who is about 180 centimetres (5', 10") tall and has refused to co-operate with authorities.

"We have sent his fingerprints to the whole world and it has not resulted in anything. So for the time being, we have a big problem there," Foldager said at a news conference.

"He has an abundance of identities. The problem is that none of them are true," he said. "This is a person who has done a lot to disguise himself."

Police has previously said the blast could be terror related, but Foldager said they have no information that the man could be "part of something bigger."

"Whether or not it is terror is pure guessing," Foldager said.

World Recoils in Horror as Christians Attack Peaceful Muslims

Oh wait, it was the other way around. So don't expect to see much coverage of this brutal attack in Barack Obama's former homeland.

A CHRISTIAN church leader was stabbed in the stomach and a reverend was beaten up in an attack on a group of worshippers in Indonesia yesterday.

The Christian church leaders were attacked as they prayed in a field in Bekasi, West Java, the Jakarta Globe reported.

The attack followed tension between the congregation and Islamic extremists in the region.

The hard-line religious group the Islamic Defenders Front (FDI) and Bakasi Mayor Mochtar Mohammad even prevented the Christian congregation from holding religious services in their local church, which was sealed shut.

The group to was instead forced to hold services in a field.

Saor Siagian, a lawyer representing the Batak Christian Protestant Church's (HKBP) Pondok Timur Indah congregation, told the newspaper that the church leaders were stabbed by unknown motorcyclists during yesterday's service.

"[Congregation leader] Sihombing was leading the congregation for Sunday Mass when he was stabbed by someone riding a motorcycle,” Mr Saor said, adding that Reverend Luspida Simandjuntak was also assaulted.

In August, a group calling itself the Jaya Muslim Forum (FUI) injured eight members of the Christian congregation in another attack.

'There Are So Many Things Wrong With This It's Hard to Make a List'

It's one thing for a television station to hire some bimbo to do celebrity gossip spots. It's quite another when said bimbo is facing federal charges.

A Plano woman who made national and tabloid headlines this summer after her arrest on smuggling charges has a new job: television commentator.

Instead of making news, Anna Fermanova was delivering it in her debut Thursday night as a celebrity gossip commentator on the nightly newscast for KDAF-TV (Channel 33).

"I'm Anna Fermanova; some call me the sexy Russian. And that's my take," she said after a two-minute report about Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.

The television gig marks the latest turn for the 24-year-old Fermanova, who remains under a cloud of suspicion with the law.

Federal authorities have charged her with trying to smuggle three military-grade rifle sights from the United States into Russia. Authorities say she stuffed the scopes into Ugg boots that were packed inside her luggage.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers confiscated the scopes at New York's Kennedy International Airport in March, but allowed her to continue on her flight to Moscow. She was arrested in July when she returned to Texas to visit family.

The case drew added attention after provocative photos from Fermanova's Facebook page surfaced in tabloids. Her case came a month after another woman, Anna Chapman, emerged as a celebrity in the tabloids when she was charged with being part of a Russian spy ring in New York.

Fermanova is due back in court in New York next month. She faces up to 10 years in prison for the felony charge.

Attempts to reach Fermanova on Friday were unsuccessful. Several managers for KDAF did not return calls for comment.

Many newsmakers have made the leap from headlines to broadcasting before – even some who faced criminal charges.

Examples include disgraced former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who appeared on television's The Apprentice ; Kato Kaelin, a witness in the O.J. Simpson trial who parlayed his fame into broadcast appearances, and radio host G. Gordon Liddy, who served prison time for his role in the Watergate scandal.

Media critics say Fermanova's camera turn is probably an attempt by KDAF to gain some publicity.

Some observers said her hiring raises ethical questions.

"There are so many things wrong with this it's hard to make a list," said Al Tompkins, a broadcast and online journalism expert at the Poynter Institute, a nonprofit media research group. "What does it say about the integrity of a newsroom where they put someone in a position like this who remains under a cloud of suspicion?"

Integrity in the media? Ha ha ha ha ha.

Here we thought we were living in a post-racial era where the color of someone's skin no longer mattered and we had moved beyond racial divisions. Sadly, there are still people out there who judge people by the color of their skin and not the content of their character or their qualifications. Clearly the Democrats and liberals have a point when it comes to castigating those who plays racial politics and divide the electorate.

Mayor David Dinkins encouraged voters to embrace a state Senate candidate because he looks "more like us."

"It's important, it is so very important, particularly for the people of this district who vote on Tuesday to recognize how important it is to understand that the city is changing," Dinkins said in his endorsement of state Senate candidate Assemblyman Adriano Espaillat on Thursday.

"Most people in the city are going to look more like us than others and that's just a fact," Dinkins said.

Espaillat opponent Mark Levine, who is white, yesterday called on Espaillat, who is Hispanic, to denounce the divisive comment.

Espaillat did not repudiate Dinkins' words.

"Mayor Dinkins is one of New York's finest public servants, and he's built his career around the principle that communities of different ethnic and economic backgrounds must work together if we want to bring about long-term change," Espaillat said in a statement.

Levine, who called Dinkins' comment "insulting to the district and electorate," also took issue with its timing.

"The fact that they were delivered on the first day of Rosh Hashana added to their inappropriateness," Levine said.

Dinkins is at least being consistent. After all he's the guy who was too busy watching tennis while the Crown Heights Pogrom went on for three days back in 1991.

'Tea Party Leader' Rips Pages From Koran

The sillines continues. Here we have an AFP dispatch accompanied by a photo with the caption "Tea Party leader from Indiana Andrew Beacham reads a page of the Koran before ripping it out". Turns out he's affiliated with fringe kook Randal Terry.

A small group of conservative Christians tore some pages from a Koran in a protest outside the White House Saturday to denounce what they called the "charade of Islam" on the anniversary of 9/11.

"Part of why we're doing that, please hear me: the charade that Islam is a peaceful religion must end," said Randall Terry, a leading anti-abortion campaigner, and one of six people who took part in the protest.

Another activist, Andrew Beacham, read out a few Koran passages calling for hatred towards Christians and Jews, and then ripped those pages from an English paperback edition of the Islamic holy book.

He carefully put the torn pieces into a plastic bag, in order not to litter, and said: "The only reason I will not burn it at the White House is because to burn anything on the Capitol grounds is a felony."

Beacham, who describes himself as a leader of the rightwing conservative Tea Party from Indiana, added: "The Twin Towers were taken down because of the Koran and other religious teachings."

Indeed, Beacham is listed here as an "event coordinator".

I'm more than a bit suspicious about these alleged tea partiers who go around issuing press releases on their own. Also, considering this Beacham is hooked up with Randall Terry, why is it Terry has nothing to do with the Tea Party? And if this crank Beacham is some kind of "leader," why has he got only 38 followers on Twitter? Dude, that's fewer followers than the Koran-burning schmuck in Florida.

If we've learned anything this week it's you can be a total nonentity with a handful of kook fringe followers one day and a media obsession the next. That crank in Florida proved that already. Now we have another douchebag looking for his 15 minutes. Nine years ago today the Capitol was likely a target of Islamists. Today American dhimmis are reading their inspiration there.

A Virginia man has organized a Quran reading on the Capitol’s west lawn Saturday afternoon, an event planned to counter Florida pastor Terry Jones’ threat to burn the Muslim holy text.

The reading will proceed even though Jones has backed off. A Facebook page about the planned 4 p.m. quiet reading says it is designed to “counter the forces of ignorance and intolerance.”

“This event is not about religious proselytizing, but about furthering understanding and tolerance (in fact, the people organizing it are all either Christians or Agnostics). Please join us for a few hours of quiet reading in the name of brotherhood and peace,” the website states.

Tony Tribby, 43, noted that even though Jones has canceled his plan, there have been threats by others – including the extreme Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas – to undertake Quran burnings.

Naturally, he's an Obamaton.

Tribby said he volunteered for Howard Dean’s (D) unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2004 and for President Barack Obama’s campaign in 2008, but that Saturday’s Quran reading is the first political event he has organized.

His MySpace page lists his heroes as Howard Dean, John Conyers, and Janeane Garofalo, among others.

Today he's in a much more forgiving mood.

President Barack Obama appealed to an unsettled nation Saturday to honor the memory of the Sept. 11 attacks by hewing to the values of diversity and tolerance. "We will not sacrifice the liberties we cherish or hunker down behind walls of suspicion and mistrust," the president declared.

Except for Republicans. You just can't trust those obstructionist hostage takers.

Speaking of hostages, the Iranians decided against releasing an American today. Just don't be intolerant and question their actions.

Dan Abrams: Women Are Better Than Men or Something

Having successfully run MSNBC into the ground with an all-male lineup (well, except for Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann), legal "expert" and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams is ready to regale us all with his keen insights as to why women are superior to men. He may have a point. Whenever a woman is hosting a Fox News Channel show they always get far higher numbers than any man on MSNBC. Seem to me a guy who's never been married is just looking for a ways to score with the ladies.

Msnbc legal eagle Dan Abrams is making the case for women, literally. He's inked a six-figure deal with Abrams Books (no relation) to chronicle ways women are superior to men. In "Man Down," he'll present studies, polls and other "evidence" to prove that women actually best the boys in typically male areas like gambling and enduring pain, and even make better hedge-fund managers and cops. Abrams isn't basing this on his own studies of gorgeous actresses: "If I had any unique insight into women, I would be married. I don't. This is a fun book written from the perspective of a lawyer making a case. A lot of people will be surprised by what we found."

Considering liberalism is a mental illness, the kiddies on the left now have their own special toys to play with.

A GERMAN toymaker is selling a range of soft toys, each of which has their own psychiatric disorder.

The toys range from Dub, a turtle who suffers depression, to Kroko, a crocodile with an acute phobia of water, as well as an hallucinating snake called Sly and a sheep called Dolly who has a personality disorder, Metro newspaper in London reports.

"It started as a bit of a joke with my girlfriend, who has lots of soft toys, and then we thought there could be something in the idea," said toymaker Martin Kittsteiner, 36, of Hamburg.

"Children and grown ups like their vulnerability and find something in them that gives them a great sense of comfort in helping to heal them.

"I think some adults see it as a form of therapy for themselves."

Maybe someone can send Charles Johnson the hallucinating snake.

Finally - Medal of Honor For A Living Service Member

At long last an announcement has been made of the awarding of a Medal of Honor to a living service member. Matt over at Blackfive breaks the news because like, you know, the dinosaur media and talking heads cable news have better things to cover like Koran burnings and the latest celebrity buzz.

Yesterday I brought the story of another service member who had been awarded the MOH posthumously and bemoaned the fact that no living members from the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) had received the award so I feel obliged to recognize the fact that it is now going to occur. I know the last couple of days I have posted quite a bit of military news, but hey that is my background so naturally I am always keeping an ear to the ground for stories about our service men and woman, especially those that don't portray them as victims or those related to the Stolen Valor type.

Anyway congratulation to now SSG Salvatore Giunta, who was a Specialist at the time of the actions which led to the awarding of this Medal of Honor.

Allow me to explain some background on the significance of this point. A Specialist in the Army is normally someone who has between 18 - 24 months in service. I used to always apply what I called the Spec 4 test, which is what we called them way back then, to any situation. It got that name because Specialists have just enough time in service to know how the system works but not enough rank to actually be put in charge of anything. It is the best rank in the Army to have. You can howl all you want about the stupidity of those in charge while not having to worry about being in charge. A Staff Sergeant is two steps above Specialist, which means that this young man has faced two promotion boards and passed them since his actions in 2007.

When an insurgent force ambush split Specialist Giunta's squad into two groups, he exposed himself to enemy fire to pull a comrade back to cover. Later, while engaging the enemy and attempting to link up with the rest of his squad, Specialist Giunta noticed two insurgents carrying away a fellow soldier. He immediately engaged the enemy, killing one and wounding the other, and provided medical aid to his wounded comrade while the rest of his squad caught up and provided security. His courage and leadership while under extreme enemy fire were integral to his platoon's ability defeat an enemy ambush and recover a fellow American paratrooper from enemy hands.

Oh BTW in regards to that Spec 4 test, as an NCO I often agreed with Specialist about the stupidity of a situation, and would allow them to explain to all who would listen how stupid it was, while at the same time giving the directives to carry out the orders. They were kind of my voice for venting. Oh and PFC's, don't even think about trying it.

Only Two Of Original 'Windtalkers' Remain

Wednesday one of the remaining 3 original Windtalkers passed away, and with him goes another piece of American history.

Allen Dale June, one of the 29 original Navajo Code Talkers who confounded the Japanese during World War II by transmitting messages in their native language, has died. He was 91.

June died of natural causes Wednesday night at a veterans hospital in Prescott, his wife, Virginia, told The Associated Press on Thursday.

While there were several hundred of these native Americans who served as Windtalkers, Mr June was one of the original members who helped develop the code that was used to stymie the Japanese during WWII, and made popular by the movie starring Nicolas Cage.

'What Was He Doing Walking the Streets?'

Appalled state pols are vowing to crack down on lax immigration policies after a Herald story yesterday uncovered that a suspect in a deadly Lawrence restaurant shooting is an accused illegal alien awaiting a deportation hearing in Texas - six months from now.

“What was he doing walking the streets?” an indignant state Rep. Brad Hill (R-Ipswich) demanded to know of Fernando Guerrero-Lara, 27. “If the federal government isn’t going to do their job, then I guess we’ll have to start doing it ourselves, state by state.”

The Herald reported yesterday that a fatal federal red-tape delay may have left Guerrero-Lara free to roam the country while awaiting a March 2011 deportation hearing.

Authorities allege Guerrero-Lara and a second man, Johan Saintclair, 30, walked into a packed birthday party at La Guira Restaurant on Broadway in Lawrence Monday and opened fire, killing mother of two Amarilis Roldan, 24, of Dorchester and Juan Suazo, 24, of Hyde Park.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has refused to say why Guerrero-Lara, a Dominican immigrant, was not in custody pending his preliminary March 7, 2011, deportation hearing.

State Rep. Jeffrey Perry (R-Sandwich), who is running for retiring U.S. Rep. William Delahunt’s seat, pushed this year to pass more stringent hurdles blocking illegal aliens from receiving state services. “This is a prime example of the impact illegal immigration has on our country,” Perry said. “It’s absolutely a matter of public safety.”

Public safety? Now there's a laugh. The government is far more concerned about the "rights" of these illegals than they are with public safety. And if you dare question their policy then you're a racist bigot.

Another Democrat Congressman Funneling Scholarship Money To Family

Yet another example of a Democrat lawmaker drunk on power and who believes the rules and laws only apply to the little people that they claim to represent.

Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.) awarded three scholarships from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation to his stepdaughter and wife’s niece between 2003 and 2005, according to records from the non-profit group.

Bishop is the second Democrat found to have funneled Congressional Black Caucus Foundation scholarship funds to relatives, threatening to turn the program into a larger political problem for the party. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) recently paid back $31,000 to the foundation for scholarships that she improperly awarded to various relatives and children of a top staffer.

I am under no illusions that revelations such as this will endanger his reelection chances. He is in a solidly Democrat district where skin color trumps everything else, including dead hookers or boys in his bed. The good news is that these scholarships do not appear to be funded with taxpayer money, he has very few real taxpayers in his district anyway, which also explains why they vote Democrat.

I may have jumped the gun on his reelection bid. It seems the Cook Political Report has moved this race from Solid Democrat to Leans Democrat, which for this district is a significant development, still the Republican challenger, Mike Keown, has an uphill battle.

Bloomberg Lauds Rangel as 'Go-To Guy in Washington'

Looking to skip out on your taxes, lie, cheat, obfuscate and scam four rent-controlled apartments for yourself? Then according to Mikey Bloomberg, you're his go-to guy in Washington. Quite a track record Bloomberg is racking up lately. He theorized the Times Square bomber was probably an opponent of ObamaCare, he's been as belligerent as possible when it comes to trashing opponents of the Ground Zero Mosque and now he comes out with a ringing endorsement of the crooked Charlie Rangel. I can't wait until next year when he starts playing it cute with a possible White House run.

Mayor Bloomberg is giving beleaguered Rep. Charles Rangel a big boost with a recorded phone message urging voters to support the 20-term lawmaker, the Daily News has learned.

"Tough times require tough leadership, and that is what Charlie Rangel has provided for us, and will continue to provide for us going forward," Bloomberg says in the robo-calls expected to flood phone lines in Rangel's district on Sunday.

The mayor calls the 80-year-old Harlem Democrat the "go-to guy in Washington." He credits Rangel with "bringing $300 million in stimulus funds to protect the jobs of New Yorkers," "insuring affordable housing for working families" and "working to expand health coverage for all Americans."

The calls, which were recorded this week, will come 48 hours before Rangel faces a five-way fight in Tuesday's Democratic primary. A House ethics panel is due next week to start trial proceedings on 13 alleged violations.

Bloomberg, who has stayed out of most local races this season, recorded the call because "Charlie Rangel has always been there for New York City, and the mayor hasn't forgotten that," mayoral spokesman Jason Post said.

Team Rangel predicted the message will shore up his support with voters in the district, which includes Harlem, the upper West Side, Washington Heights and a sliver of Queens.

"The mayor is really a standup guy, and this is an important message," said a Rangel aide.

Considering Bloomberg's waning popularity, any endorsement from him may well be the kiss of death.

Great News: Health Care Costs to Rise Thanks to Obama

Don't say you weren't warned.

Health-care costs are forecast to rise after enactment of President Obama's new health law -- and the average American will have to shell out an additional $265 each year for care, a new government report concludes.

Factoring in the law, Americans will spend an average of $13,652 per person a year on health care in 2019, according to the US Office of the Actuary. Without the law, the corresponding number would be $13,387.

By 2019, health-care spending will be a fifth of the nation's gross domestic product, according to the estimate by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Of course most "government reports" are usually way off base, so this number is likely quite modest compared to what we'll see. Naturally the wizards in the Obama administration laughably claim you'll actually "save" money.

Coming from a neutral government source, the report could fuel heated claims about the costs and benefits of the new law in congressional campaigns.

The White House countered the report, arguing the average person would see health costs drop by $1,400 by 2019.

So the difference in estimates is a mere $1665. Expect Obama's flunkies to be calling for abolishing the US Office of the Actuary by the end of the day.

Chris Christie Disembowels Whiny Hag Teacher

Nine minutes of pure awesomeness as the Baddest Governor on the Planet lays waste to a smug, self-righteous bitch. This video must be mandatory for any Republican who wishes to carry the conservative mantle. There's no backing down, no equivocating, he rips her to shreds with the facts, he doesn't need visual aids to carry on his discussion and he leaves this seahag smoked beyond recognition. Reports are her dentist was called in to identify her remains. She should have known what was coming when Hurricane Christie so casually removed his jacket. I actually felt tingles up both legs.

The sad thing is she's beyond hope and no amount of logic or facts resonate. I love how he reminds her and the audience it was the teacher's union wishing him dead.

Yet Another Posthumous Medal Of Honor

This has become a pet peeve of mine through our 10 year war with the Islamic extremists. We have yet another soldier being awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously. The recipient this time is Staff Sergeant Robert J Miller, a member of the 3rd Special Forces Group.

Why has it now become necessary to pay the ultimate sacrifice in order to be considered for this medal? In all of past wars the medal has been bestowed upon service members who did not, which is why some of them have been awarded it more then once.

I am certainly glad that the actions and sacrifices of the service members who receive this honor is recognized, I just wish we hadn't moved the standards to being one that includes the loss of life of the service member.

Jan. 25, Miller found himself willingly leading a team of Afghan National Security Forces and Coalition soldiers during a combat reconnaissance patrol in Konar Province, near the Pakistan border. Insurgents hiding in a structure attacked Miller’s team. A fellow teammate called for close-air support to drop ordnance on the insurgent position, disrupting their attack. When the combined patrol moved toward the structure to check for any remaining enemy threats, insurgents again fired using heavy weapons.

Miller’s team captain was seriously wounded within the first minutes of the attack. While his commander was moved to safety, Miller returned fire. At great personal risk to himself, Miller remained at the front of the patrol and continued to lay down suppressive fire on multiple insurgent positions, allowing his wounded commander to be pulled out of the line of fire, ultimately saving his life. Miller’s personal courage under intense enemy fire enabled the entire patrol to gain cover and return fire. Even while injured by direct enemy small arms and machine gun fire, Miller continued to employ his M249 Squad Automatic Weapon and grenades to suppress enemy fire and protect his teammates.

I am sure the awarding of this medal will receive at least as much attention as Bristol Palin's appearance on Dancing with the Stars or high school dropout, kiddie breeder, and mayorial candidate Levi Johnson. Or at least more then Snookie's arrest for Public Intoxication.

'If Someone Wants To Give Me 18 or 20 Million Dollars Today, It's All Theirs'

It appears at least one of the very shady Ground Zero Mosque investors is ready to jump ship.

For a price.

A major investor in the mosque near Ground Zero said yesterday he is ready to pull the plug and sell some or all of the site if the price is right.

Hisham Elzanaty, an Egyptian-born businessman who says he provided a majority of the financing to gain control over the two buildings where an Islamic community center and mosque would be built, said he already has received offers for three times the $4.8 million price of the site.

"Develop it, raze it, sell it," Elzanaty, who lives on Long Island, told the Associated Press.

"If someone wants to give me 18 or 20 million dollars today, it's all theirs."

Curious since $18 million was the original price but this crew allegedly got the land for $4.5 million.

The Post reported on Sunday that developer Kevin Glodek had offered $18 million cash in 2007 but was rejected by the family that owned the Park Place site at the time.

Elzanaty said one of the buildings is worth millions if it is redeveloped, and he intends to seize the opportunity.

He said he would like to see the other building turned into a mosque, but if his community doesn't come forward with enough cash for him to break even, he will turn it over to someone else.

"I'm a businessman. This was a mere business transaction for me," said Elzanaty, who owns medical clinics in New York City and invests in real estate on the side.

Meanwhile, the imam on the State Department payroll continues to rub salt in the wound of 9/11 families by spouting lefty talking points. Raelly bringing us all together.

Rauf predicted such a backlash would be even harsher than the global protests that resulted over cartoon images of the Prophet Mohammed in a Danish newspaper.

Hmmm. If I didn't know any better I'd say that was a threat.

He said that had he known the proposed mosque would have created as much opposition as it has, he wouldn't have proposed it for a site two blocks north of the World Trade Center.

But he dismissed the claim by 9/11 families that the property is on sacred ground.

"This is not Ground Zero proper. No one's body is in that location," said Rauf. "You can't say a place that has strip joints is sacred ground."

Yet Rauf and the Bloombergs of the world wonder why people want no part of this.

It seems the radical Islamic supporters and apologist now have settled on a narrative for the near term in order to enable them to push their agenda. It sounds familiar because now the iman trying to cram the Ground Zero Mosque down are throats is using the twisted logic, that a building that exists only on paper, if it was forced to move would inflame those very same radical Muslims, who are such a minority that we shouldn't worry about, to commit acts of violence.

Burning Korans will piss off Muslims in the Arab world. Moving a non-existent victory symbol will anger Muslims. It seems that what most sane people came to realize a decade ago is just now becoming something that even a supporter of the caliphate can recognize. They kill cause they hate and they hate everything but their own power.
The imam behind a proposed Islamic community center and mosque near ground zero cautioned Wednesday that moving the facility could cause a violent backlash from Muslim extremists and endanger national security.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf told CNN that the discourse surrounding the center has become so politicized that moving it could strengthen the ability of extremists abroad to recruit and wage attacks against Americans, including troops fighting in the Middle East.

"The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack," he said, but he added that he was open to the idea of moving the planned location of the center, currently two blocks north of the World Trade Center site.

"But if you don't do this right, anger will explode in the Muslim world," he later said, predicting that the reaction could be more furious than the eruption of violence following the 2005 publication of Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

C'mon people. Are you going to continue to make excuses for these psychotic cult members who have one goal and that is to kill all who displease them regardless of sex, creed, gender, or religious affiliation. In that regard they are definitely Equal Opportunity Murderers.

Notice that CNN uses the term Islamic Center in their caption. Wouldn't want to spark any anger would we?

'No One Comes to Iowa Unless They Want To Be President'

We can dream, can't we? Actually, now that we have a Governor here in New Jersey that we can finally be proud of, I'm tempted to say hands off, he ours. Now he's also promised he's not running in 2012 and I take his word for it, although he'd be an extremely tempting VP selection for someone. Actually, The Big Guy is heading to Iowa as part of a tour pushing GOP gubernatorial candidates and an endorsement from him is good as gold these days.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, already a tough-talking, budget-slashing, union-bashing regular on cable news talk shows, denies he's considering a presidential run whenever he's asked.

But that's not keeping him from planning a trip next month to Iowa, the state with the nation's first presidential caucus that makes it a destination for those with big political aspirations.

"He's becoming a national politician on a platform to compete with 36 other people who want to be president in 2012," said Steffen Schmidt, a political science professor at Iowa State University. "No one comes to Iowa unless they want to be president."

This year, the Hawkeye State has been graced by visits — or will be soon — by Republican luminaries including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, former presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Schmidt said.

Christie is headlining an Oct. 4 event in West Des Moines to raise money for Terry Branstad, who served as governor from 1983 to 1999 and is challenging Democratic Gov. Chet Culver in a bid to get his old job back.

Schmidt said that though it's a crowded stage for big-name Republicans in Iowa, Christie has made himself known there.

Christie is a former federal prosecutor who unseated a Democratic governor last year in New Jersey, a state that leans Democratic. In his first eight months on the job, he's closed an $11 billion budget gap without raising state taxes, imposed a 2 percent cap on increases to local property taxes, and tussled frequently and unapologetically with the state's main teachers union.

He's also not shy to criticize President Barack Obama. Asked at a town hall event on Tuesday why he cut a program, he responded: "Unlike the president, I can't print money."

As to possible VP speculation, he maintains his sense of humor.

Asked if he might consider being someone’s running mate, Christie said, "Is there anybody around here who thinks I could be a number two to anybody?"

Horrors! Dan Hampton Calls Dallas Cowboys 'Brokeback'

I guess the folks at GLAAD don't get football humor.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Defense Fund wants an apology from Pro Football Hall of Famer
Dan Hampton after referring to the Dallas Cowboys as more "Brokeback" -- the movie about two gay cowboys -- than Eastwood, the Dallas Morning News reports.

A GLAAD official wrote on the group's blog that "Hampton telegraphed to his audience that gay men are not good enough, just as he doesn't believe the Dallas Cowboys are good enough."

The former Chicago Bear, who played from 1979-1990, was already in hot water after making a Katrina comment last week on Pro Football Weekly's TV show as he previewed the Minnesota Vikings-New Orleans Saints game.

"The Vikings need to go down there and hit that town like Katrina," Hampton said on the show.

The Hall of Famer apologized for the Katrina comment, but has yet to comment on this latest incident.

Indeed, the Katrina comment was pretty stupid and it doesn't seems as if Hampton is the PC type.

To counter the notion they're soft, the Cowboys today signed a hard-hitting linebacker in order to add some toughness. The new roster addition hails, ironically enough, from Chicago.

Look I am just an ornery enough guy to piss everybody off. First I wouldn't import labor to do it and second I wouldn't award the contract to a union shop either. I would open up the bidding to private contractors outside of the DC area. According to all the facts, figures, and numbers, that is one area of the country which is not experiencing the same level of job insecurity as the rest of the nation, which is why those inside the beltway just don't seem to grasp what is causing so much of the anger in the rest of the country. The number of laborers cited is between 8 - 12 anyway but it would breathe a little bit of life into some poor contractor wondering where his next job is coming from.

Actual AP Headline: 'Old Farmer's Almanac: Global Cooling to Continue'

Global cooling? Huh? But the Warmies told us the planet is melting, the ice shelfs are busting up and we've only got a few years left on the planet.

How is it this blasphemous headline has made it out on the news wires?

Most of the country will see a colder-than-usual winter while summer and spring will be relatively cool and dry, according to the time-honored, complex calculations of the "Old Farmer's Almanac."

The 2011 issue of the almanac, which claims to be the nation's oldest continuously published periodical, was released Tuesday. It predicts that in the coming months, the Earth will continue to see a "gradual cooling of the atmosphere ... offset by any warming caused by increased greenhouse gases."

The "Old Farmer's Almanac" also is forecasting a weak La Nina — a climate phenomenon marked by an unusual cooling of the sea surface in the tropical Pacific Ocean.

Janice Stillman, editor of the almanac, said that means much of the eastern half of the United States will experience lower-than-normal temperatures with less snow while Mid-Atlantic states will see more snowfall than usual. The West will see a mild winter with average precipitation, she said.

Meanwhile, the South will experience a cold and wet summer and the Rockies should see a mild and dry winter, according to the New Hampshire-based "Old Farmer's Almanac."

"It'll be cold. There will be no mistaking winter," Stillman said. "But it may be a little shorter or we may see some small warm spells in places like the East Coast."

'We Will Clearly Identify All of Our Financial Backers'

Well, we already know two of the financial backers. One's a thug, the other a scam artist, a guy who's an Obama donor and recently gave money to New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Yet months into the Ground Zero Mosque controversy, we have zero knowledge who the other mystery donors are.

Now along comes Imam Rauf, fresh off his two-month world journey paid for by the Obama State Department. The renowned builder of bridges helpfully finds space today on the New York Times editorial pages. Considering how sympathetic the Times has been toward mosque opponents, I guess it's only fair they give equal space to the chief proponent. Here's what caught my eye from the piece, which likely was authored by some hacks at the State Department.

I do not underestimate the challenges that will be involved in bringing our work to completion. (Construction has not even begun yet.) I know there will be interest in our financing, and so we will clearly identify all of our financial backers.

Well, Imam, you've had months to disclose who the backers are and have refused to do so. There's been interest for quite some time now who's funding it, so why don't we know already? He then picks up with the Times' recent view that two-thirds of Americans opposing the mosque somehow is siding with Islamic radicals.

The wonderful outpouring of support for our right to build this community center from across the social, religious and political spectrum seriously undermines the ability of anti-American radicals to recruit young, impressionable Muslims by falsely claiming that America persecutes Muslims for their faith. These efforts by radicals at distortion endanger our national security and the personal security of Americans worldwide. This is why Americans must not back away from completion of this project.

Wonderful outpouring of support? Yes, I know he's been out of the country living it up on our dime, but nobody can be this out of touch. Rarely if ever have I seen such overwhelming opposition to anything in this country by folks across political lines. You get overs 70% of Americans to agree on anything these days and you know how strong opposition is. Sure, most agree they have the right, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. It's like the guy in Florida who wants to torch the Koran. Sure, he has the right. Doesn't mean it's the best idea to come along to show your views.

Maybe there can be a compromise of sorts. The guy in Florida doesn't fire up the holy book and Rauf and the mysterious pals he's rushing to identify can find another place to build the mosque.

Sharia Compliance: Hartford City Council Meetings to Begin with Muslim Prayers

Just imagine the furor sweeping the land if Catholics were invited to pray at a public meeting. We'd never hear the end of it. But I guess the folks in Hartford have no problem mixing religion into the public sphere, so long as it's an approved one. Of course this is merely designed for them to preen and show how morally superior they are, then when people question them they can call them Islamophobes.

Liberalism: The easy, gutless choice toward subservience!

In the wake of the battle over a mosque at Ground Zero, a move by Hartford City Council is sure to have its critics.

The Council announced Tuesday that it has invited local imams to perform Islamic invocations at the beginning of the Council meetings in September.

Though meetings don't regularly begin with any form of prayer, an email from the Common Council called it "an act of solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters."

The email even referenced the ongoing issue in New York. "One of the goals of the Council is to give a voice to the many diverse peoples of the City, which is especially important given the recent anti-Islam events throughout the country."

Diversity only matters so long as there's no diversity of thought.

Hipster Doofuses Promote 'Restoring Truthiness'

For bunch who consider themselves so hip and cutting edge, it's rather amusing seeing these lefty twits constantly playing catch-up these days. Seems the only way they'll be able to keep turnout down on November 2 is if we all die laughing at these morons. Who knew Glenn Beck's gathering a couple of weeks ago would leave the left such a quivering mess?

Move over, Glenn Beck.

The Internet is clamoring for another massive rally at the Lincoln Memorial, but this time, the people want to see Stephen Colbert speak.

Colbert fans have launched a viral movement lobbying the comedian to host an event rivaling the Fox host’s recent "Restoring Honor" rally.

Promoting it with the tagline "Restoring Truthiness,” Colbert supporters have created a website, Facebook group, and even designed posters for the proposed rally.

They've also successfully infiltrated Google Trends, where "Restoring Truthiness" is currently entrenched among the top 10 list of the day's most popular Internet searches.

The movement now boasts more than 8,000 fans on Facebook, and advertises itself as “Operation Strike of Truthiness!” on its website www.colbertrally.com, which features a prominent image of George Bush in front of the infamous “Mission Accomplished” banner.

"America, we are at a crossroad," the site reads. "Truthiness in this nation is at an all-time low since the inception of the concept was founded by the great American, Stephen Colbert.

"Our goal is simple: Petition Stephen Colbert to hold a Restoring Truthiness Rally for the American people."

Colbert, whose show is based around his over-the-top TV persona as a wildly conservative pundit, once introduced the word "truthiness" during a tongue-in-cheek segment mocking dictionaries and facts.

"We are divided between those who think with their head and those who think with their heart," he said. "Anyone can read the news to you. I promise to feel the news at you."

The "Restoring Truthiness" movement was sparked by a post on Reddit, the Huffington Post reports, which begged Colbert to host an event satirizing the Tea Party movement.

"I know you're out there somewhere, Stephen," the original post read. "We need you. There's no way to have a logical public discussion with the teabaggers. The best we can do is mimic them."

Good luck, kids. Just remember you have to be home by dark.

Burn Or Not Burn?

Protesters burn a church in Sukkur, 480kms northeast of Karachi, Pakistan.

The burning question of the day seems to be whether a small church in Florida should go ahead with it's planned event to burn at least one Koran, different reports have different numbers on just how many of the terrorists handbooks should be burned. Guess I tipped my hand there.

Today the old dinosaur media is running the story of how Gen Petraeus and some of the other commanders with actual skin in the game feel about this event. They see a growing resentment in Afghanistan since news of this has made it over there and hope the church will rethink their plans. They cite a very real threat to the soldiers serving and possible long term impacts to what they are trying to accomplish. I respect their opinion greatly and thus am left in a position that is most uncomfortable.

I don't for one second believe that the Taliban or Al-Queda will quit for one second in their pursuit of killing Americans. The question is will it give them more cult followers willing to strap on explosives and become part of the red spray parade that is emblematic of the Islamic faith. I am tired of being told that we need to be sensitive to the Muslim culture. I am sick and tired of handing this fight to them all in the name of not offending their delicate nature.

I think we have seen how delicate their feelings are in the constant stream of stories of them gassing girls in schools. beheading those who disagree, stoning of women for the pleasure of a machismo society they have, and the very graphic stories of the torture chambers and houses which hold their prisoners.

Somewhere there has to be a line drawn in the sand and the civilized western world as got to tell the barbarians that we will no longer agree to their demands and extortion or pay their protection money. Allowing them to dictate the terms under which we are allowed to act is the same as living by their rules. In other words it is sharia by stealth.

I will really worry about Muslim sensitivities when I see a Catholic cathedral built in Saudi Arabia, when possession of a Bible in an Arab country is not subject to the death penalty and murderers of civilians are not heralded as heroes.

Afterthought: Maybe I am just in a bad mood because today we are burying two service members from the local area, one Marine and one soldier, who were killed in Afghanistan recently. Some how burning a Koran just doesn't rate up there.

'We All Know That There Is a Hurricane Coming for the Democrats'

It's a massive Category 5 with landfall expected on November 2. Democrats to be hardest hit.

Two separate polls released Tuesday tell the same grim story for Democrats: Prepare to lose in the November midterm elections.

An ABC News/Washington Post poll gives the GOP a 53%-40% advantage over Democrats in this year's congressional races, the largest gap in that poll since 1981.

Republicans enjoy a 49%-40% lead in an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, with the GOP advantage swelling to 20 points among voters with the highest amount of interest in this year's elections.

Voters overall, however, are tied at 43% apiece when asked if they prefer a Democratic or Republican-controlled Congress in the NBC/WSJ poll.

"We all know that there is a hurricane coming for the Democrats," said Peter D. Hart, the Democratic pollster who conducted the NBC News/WSJ survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff. "We just don't know if it will be a Category 4 or a Category 5."

Both polls show dwindling approval for President Obama's handling of the economy.

"That is a huge danger sign," McInturff said of the president's 39% approval rating on his work with the economy.

Schumer Tackling the Really Important Issues

His party is in complete disarray, he's nowhere to be found when it comes to having an opinion on the Ground Zero Mosque, he's done nothing for job creation in New York, yet he still finds time to meddle in people's business here and now abroad.

What's the urgent business for this twit today? Coffee prices, of course.

Java drinkers rest easy. Sen. Charles Schumer has perked up to the spiraling cost of coffee beans, and he wants something done about it.

The New York Democrat has asked U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk to warn major coffee growers Brazil and Vietnam at an International Coffee Organization meeting later this month to not stockpile their crops, a move that could further boost bean prices that already have spiked this summer because of poor crops in some regions.

The fallout from rising prices has been brewing for months. Coffee futures spiked in June and have remained high. Coffee producers and sellers -- including Folgers and Dunkin' Donuts coffee maker J.M. Smucker Co. and the Wawa convenience store chain -- have already raised their prices. Starbucks Corp. has said it will absorb the higher cost.

Why the buzz? According to Schumer, the issue goes beyond bad crops. The senator said in a statement that Vietnam bought more than 60,000 tons of its own coffee last spring and was considering a plan to stockpile up to 200,000 tons. Meanwhile, Brazilian growers have pressured their government to consider a similar move.

Schumer said coffee exporters are acting like "the OPEC of coffee," a reference to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, which has a large influence on oil prices.

So these countries enact policies to benefit themselves yet here we have this meddling twerp telling them how to do business. Our economy is in shambles, his party is facing massive losses in November due to their economic ineptitude and this idiot is out there whining about coffee prices.

Shocker: Audit Finds Sharpton Group's Finances in Disarray

This ought to qualify him as a financial adviser to his pal Obama.

An accounting firm hired by Al Sharpton's National Action Network found the civil-rights group in such financial disarray that it flunked its record-keeping -- and may not even survive, The Post has learned.

The scathing critique was spelled out in a hard-hitting internal audit of NAN's books, a copy of which was obtained by The Post.

"The organization has suffered recurring decreases in net assets -- and has been dependent upon advances from related parties and the nonpayment of payroll tax obligations -- to maintain continuity," the firm KBL concluded in an April 2 audit of NAN's 2008 financial records, the most recent available.

The audit, which was submitted to NAN's board of directors, warned, "These circumstances create substantial doubt about the organization's ability to continue."

KBL said it was "unable to form an opinion" on the accuracy of NAN's financial figures "because of inadequacies in the organization's accounting records."

In 2008, federal prosecutors decided to drop a criminal probe into the finances of Sharpton and NAN. But Sharpton -- who also has a lucrative syndicated radio show and a speech-making and consulting business -- agreed to pay back more than $2 million in overdue personal and NAN taxes.

The audit said NAN still owed $1.348 million in delinquent city, state and federal taxes and penalties at the end of 2008. The IRS has filed dozens of liens against NAN over the past decade, including one as recently as April of this year.

Last year, the Federal Elections Commission slapped Sharpton with $285,000 fine, in part for illegally using NAN funds to cover the costs of his 2004 presidential campaign.

Somehow the evil whitey will be to blame for this.

Stunner: GZM Developer With Criminal and Deadbeat Tax History Also Has Shoddy Building Record

Every day it's another revelation with this guy. He's been arrested at least seven times that we know of, owes nearly a quarter million dollars in back taxes and today we learn buildings he already owns have shoddy safety and construction records. Yet still the majority of the media blithely ignores his dubious history and presents him as some peaceful guy just looking to build bridges.

The developer behind the planned Ground Zero mosque already has a lousy record with the city Buildings Department -- racking up $24,650 in fines for safety and construction violations at a Washington Heights apartment building that his firm owns.

The violations involve some of the department's more serious charges, from cracks running the height of the six-story, brick walk-up to blocked exits and fire escapes, falling mortar and an unstable chimney, city records show.

"Every time it rains, I set a pan on my bed and another one on the floor," said Don McCants, 61, a truck driver and longtime tenant of the building owned by mosque developer Sharif El-Gamal and his firm, Soho Properties.

"It's no drip, drip, drip, either," he lamented. "It comes down fast."

Since 2008, there have been 21 code violations at the building at 504 W. 159th St., which El-Gamal and Soho Properties purchased the previous year. Of these, nine violations are still open, and $19,500 in fines are unpaid.

El-Gamal did not respond to a call for comment. A receptionist at his firm suggested writing an e-mail with questions to the Web site for the proposed mosque and community center, called Park51. There was no response to the e-mail, either.

Buildings Department records show that El-Gamal has been renovating apartments in the 21-unit, rent-stabilized building. On five occasions, inspectors ordered him to stop work because of hazardous conditions for tenants and neighbors or a failure to get city approvals.

In December 2008, inspectors ordered all work at the building stopped due to "a failure to safeguard all persons and property affected by construction operations." El-Gamal was cited later that month for ignoring the stop-work order.

The most recent violation was handed out June 24, when inspectors found blocked fire escapes and passageways.

The city Department of Housing, Preservation and Development also has issues with the property, slapping it with 47 violations involving health and maintenance issues.

The violations, all of which are still open, range from unabated lead paint to plumbing malfunctions to problems with falling plaster and missing floorboards.

Peaceful Afghans Protest Koran Burning By Burning American Flags, Chanting 'Death to America'

This was all met approvingly by the U.S Embassy in Kabul. Obviously these freaks don't understand irony.

Scores of people have gathered in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Monday to denounce a U.S. church's plan to burn the Islamic holy book the Quran.

Members of the crowd gathered chanted "Long live Islam" and "Death to America" in response to fiery speeches from members of parliament, provincial council deputies, and Islamic clerics denouncing the United States and demanding the withdrawal of foreign troops from the country.

The Gainesville, Florida-based Dove World Outreach Center announced plans to burn copies of the Islamic holy text on church grounds to mark the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The embassy made sure not to offend anyone and criticized only the dude in Florida.

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul said the "United States government in no way condones such acts of disrespect against the religion of Islam, and is deeply concerned about deliberate attempts to offend members of religious or ethnic groups."

"Americans from all religious and ethnic backgrounds reject this offensive initiative by this small group in Florida, a great number of American voices are protesting the hurtful statements made by this organization," it said in a statement.

Acts of disrespect to the Americans are apparently alright by them.

Nobody would pay any attention to the Florida church but the media seems obsessed with promoting the guy's plans.

Gee, What Happened to That Fiscal Austerity?

One day Democrats claim they're all for reducing spending as a means to bamboozle voters heading into the midterm elections. Then along comes their Dear Leader looking to throw away another $50 billion.

President Barack Obama is asking Congress to approve at least $50 billion in long-term investments in the nation's roads, railways and runways in a pre-election effort to show he's trying to stimulate the sputtering economy.

The infrastructure investments are part of a package of targeted proposals the White House announced on Monday. With November's elections for control of Congress approaching, Obama planned to discuss the proposal later Monday at a Labor Day event in Milwaukee.

The proposals would require congressional approval, which is highly uncertain at a time when many legislators and voters are worried about adding to federal deficits that are already sky-high.

Um, wasn't the $800 billion failed stimulus supposed to take care of this stuff?

Obama made infrastructure investments a central part of the $814 billion stimulus Congress passed last year, but with that spending winding down, the economy's growth has slowed. Officials said this infrastructure package differs from the stimulus because it's aimed at long-term growth, while still focusing on creating jobs in the short-term.

Of course it didn't create any jobs, which is why he's now again pandering to unions and trying to buy votes. But that's not all. Obama plans to go on an unprecedented spending orgy. He just doesn't get it.

Obama is also continuing to prod the Senate to pass the small business bill that calls for about $12 billion in tax breaks and a $30 billion fund to help unfreeze lending. Republicans have likened the bill to the unpopular bailout of the financial industry. And the president wants to make permanent the portion of George W. Bush's tax cuts affecting the middle class.

Wary of the public's concern over rising deficits, the administration insists a second stimulus plan, similar to last year's $814 billion bill, is not in the works.

Huge Surge for GOP in CNN Poll

They weakly try to spin this as both parties are unpopular and everyone in in an anti-incumbent mood. But the numbers of people saying they'll vote GOP in November is rising with a massive upswing in independents leaning to the Republicans. When November 2 rolls around there sure will be plenty of incumbents tossed out of office and the overwhelming number of them will be Democrats.

With November's midterm elections less than two months away, a new national poll indicates that the Republicans' advantage over the Democrats in the battle for Congress is on the rise.

According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Monday, the GOP leads the Democrats by 7 points on the "generic ballot" question, 52 percent to 45 percent. That 7-point advantage is up from a 3-point margin last month.

The generic ballot question asks respondents if they would vote for a Democrat or Republican in their congressional district, without naming any specific candidates.

"The survey indicates that independents and voters who dislike both parties are starting to break toward the GOP," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "In a year when anger at incumbents is a dominant political force, the key to the election lies among those who aren't rooting for either side."

According to the poll, the two parties are equally unpopular. Forty-nine percent of all Americans have an unfavorable view of the Democrats, with the same percentage feeling the same way about the Republicans. Just over one in five questioned dislike both parties.

Back in April, Americans who dislike both parties appeared to mildly favor the GOP on the generic ballot, by a 43-to-39 percent margin, with a large number saying at the time that they would pick a minor-party candidate or stay at home.

"Now, a lot of those voters appear to be bolting to the GOP," Holland said. "Republicans now have a whopping 38-point advantage on the generic ballot among voters who dislike both parties."

Republicans also have a large and growing advantage among independents. Sixty-two percent of independents questioned say they would vote for the generic Republican in their district, with three in 10 saying they'd cast a ballot for the generic Democrat. That 32-point margin for the Republicans among independents is up from an 8-point advantage last month.

So that's a 24-point boost in one month, but let's just keep pretending it's simply an "anti-incumbent" mood rather than what it is: anti-Democrat.

Update: Even more good news.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Likely Voters would vote for their district's Republican congressional candidate, while 36% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. The survey data was collected on the seven days ending Sunday, September 5, 2010.

This matches the largest advantage ever measured for the Republicans. Three weeks ago, the GOP also held a 12-point lead.

Still, while the margin has varied somewhat from week-to-week, Republicans have been consistently ahead in the Generic Ballot for over a year. During 2010, the GOP edge has never fallen below five points. When Barack Obama first took office as president of the United States, the Democrats enjoyed a seven-point lead on the Generic Ballot.

Reporter 'Live Tweets' His Heart Attack

Some people are just addicted to the technology. Honestly, if you're having a heart attack, would you be eagerly updating your status on Twitter?

White House corespondent Tommy Christopher with Mediaite.com may have made Social Network history as being the first person ever to update his or her Twitter page while having a heart attack. This claim is unverified and likely inaccurate, but nonetheless, it takes a courageous reporter to inform the public even in personal trying times.

Approximately at 6pm on Sunday afternoon Christopher wrote, “I gotta be me. Livetweeting my heart attack. Beat that!” Presumably a few minutes later the paramedics arrived to tell Christopher he will be stable after his crisis.

An hour later Christopher joked about needing to own a cardiac cat, referencing a viral video in which a cat is trying to revive his dead feline friend. He also updated his followers about the pain he was feeling, “even after the morphine.”

He's apparently survived and will need more surgery. I'm not sure how old Christopher is but he may want to concern himself more with his diet rather that Twitter updates.

FORMER British Prime Minister Tony Blair said US President George W. Bush was "very smart," but his predecessor Bill Clinton was the smartest politician he ever met.

Speaking on This Week with Christiane Amanpour, Mr Blair was asked to talk about his relationships with Mr Clinton and Mr Bush.

Ms Amanpour read a section of Blair’s new memoir entitled A Journey in which the former prime minister wrote: "George W. Bush was very smart. He had an immense simplicity in how he saw the world. Right or wrong, it led to decisive leadership."

In response, Mr Blair said: “Yes, it did. And I think, you know, it's easy to mock that simplicity. And it's easy to ignore the strength that sometimes comes with that.”

But when it came to Mr Clinton, he was even more effusive in his praise.

Asked if Mr Clinton was one of the smartest political minds he had ever come across, Mr Blair replied: “Oh, he's phenomenally smart. I mean, I think the smartest politician I ever came across, yes, I would say, Bill Clinton, yes.”

No doubt the reaction of the left will entail ridiculing Blair's intelligence for his assessment of Bush.

One of the girls was a 3-year-old named Zahra, who was spotted sporting a bandana. No, it didn't say "Death to America." It read "Jerusalem -- God Promised Freedom."

The anti-Israel al-Quds Day holiday was established in 1979 in Iran to protest Israel and express solidarity with the Palestinians.

Hmm: Ground Zero Mosque Building Was on Market for $18 Million, Sold for $4.5 Million

It's a shame we have an absentee New York Attorney General (he's busy running for Governor), otherwise he might be inclined to look at all this shady business. We long ago gave up on the U.S. Attorney General. He's busy waging war on Arizona to even bother investigating any of these slippery operators. Let's face it though: Even in a down economy, how does a building on the market for 18 million wind up being sold for a fraction of that?

The original owners of the Ground Zero mosque site mysteriously spurned dozens of higher bids before selling the prime downtown real estate at a bargain-basement price.

The Pomerantz family, which had owned the building since the late 1960s and fielded offers after the patriarch died in 2006, rejected at least one bid that was nearly four times what prospective mosque builder Sharif El-Gamal eventually paid, The Post has learned.

El-Gamal did offer what could be viewed as a sweetener to his $4.8 million bid in July 2009 -- a job as a property manager for a son of the family, Sethian Pomerantz.

New York developer Kevin Glodek was livid when he found out the building sold for a fraction of what he offered in 2007 -- $18 million cash -- and wondered whether money changed hands under the table, according to sources close to the deal.

Glodek and his partners wanted to build a 60-story condo tower with retail space on the Park Place site, had inked a purchase agreement and even had keys to the existing building, according to sources and documents obtained by The Post.

But Kukiko Mitani -- whose late husband, Stephen Pomerantz, owned the property -- and her brother-in-law, Melvin Pomerantz, a trustee to the estate, went silent at the end of 2007 and Glodek's deal disappeared, sources said.

Glodek, who owns the ChefsDiet food delivery service and several Manhattan properties, declined to comment.

The property is now at the heart of one of the most divisive issues in the country -- whether it should be the location of a $100 million mosque and community center. The location two blocks from Ground Zero has been called insensitive, and questions have been raised about whether extremists will help fund the project. Recent polls show that 70 percent of New Yorkers want it moved.

El-Gamal had his eye on the property for years before buying it in 2009.

He was not alone in his interest, with some 30 offers showered on the Pomerantz family in what was an overheated downtown real-estate market in 2007, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

Yet Mitani previously told The Post the building, a former Burlington Coat Factory store that was damaged in the 9/11 attacks, was a tough sell. She said she was in debt and desperate to unload it after her husband's death and insisted she had no buyers other than El-Gamal.

Some of the offers were a mere flash in the pan, but others were legitimate, including a $17 million cash deal from one developer, the source said.

The attraction in this hot market was buying real estate that could be demolished, the source said. A second downtown mosque, not affiliated with El-Gamal, considered spending $18 million for 45-47 Park Place in early 2008.

But the Pomerantz family -- for reasons that remain unclear -- rejected the offers.

They took 70 percent less from El-Gamal than what Glodek offered.

This was a considerable drop even given the 30 percent decline in market values at the time, said Michael Falsetta, executive vice president of Miller Cicero, a real-estate appraisal firm not involved in the deals.

"That makes us suspicious," he said.

It should make everyone suspicious. But anyone becoming suspicious of very suspicious activity is now called a racist, bigot and Islamophobe by the New McCarthyites, led by that pusillanimous pipsqueak mayor of New York.

Meanwhile, for a guy who was a petty criminal until fairly recently, how is it El-Gamal overnight went from waiting tables to being a multimillionaire?

One of the developers of the controversial Islamic center and mosque being proposed for downtown Manhattan two blocks from ground zero was arrested in Tampa in 2000.

For stealing panty hose.

On May 7, 2000, Sammy El-Gamal – who told Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies that he was a server at the restaurant Mise En Place at the time – walked into the women's lingerie department at the Walmart at 2701 E. Fletcher Ave. He opened a box of European Luxury Collection large black panty hose, took them out of the box and stuffed them into his right front pants pocket, according to an arrest report.

El-Gamal then bought a watch in the jewelry department and left the store. He was apprehended by store security. After being arrested, he told deputies that he stole the panty hose – valued at $4.47 – because "he was too embarrassed to purchase them for his girlfriend," according to the report.

I guess this means El-Gamal was arrested at least eight times now.
