Environmental Wacko From 'Peaceful Uprising' Gets Prison Time, Supporter Threatens Violence

If you do the crime, be prepared to do the time.
A sentencing hearing turned into a rally supporting an environmental activist who has become an antihero after disrupting a government auction of oil and gas leases near two national parks in Utah.

Protesters gathered around the courthouse and dozens were arrested Tuesday as Tim DeChristopher launched into a lengthy address urging others fight climate change by taking similar steps of civil disobedience.

But U.S. District Judge Dee Benson said there was no excuse for the 29-year-old former wilderness guide's blatant disrespect for the rule of law.

Benson sentenced DeChristopher to two years in prison on Tuesday, making him the first person to be prosecuted for failing to make good on bids at a lease auction of Utah public lands. He ran up bids on 13 parcels totaling more than 22,000 acres near Arches and Canyonlands national parks in 2008.

"My intent both at the time of the auction and now was to expose, embarrass and hold accountable the oil and gas industry, to the point that it cut into their $100 billion profits," DeChristopher told Benson.
How about protesting the government that does nothing to earn money yet profits more than any industry could ever imagine?

In one fell swoop he goes from "antihero" to martyr. Yes, really.
DeChristopher certainly is a martyr for those who want to focus attention on human-caused global warming, and he probably takes some comfort in that. He said he has no regrets. But this extreme sentence, more than a rallying point, is an indictment of the judicial system that zeroed in on one young man who was acting according to his conscience but looks the other way when others illegally make the opposite point.
Two years is extreme? Really?

It gets even more amusing.
Since his arrest, DeChristopher has become a hero to others worried about environmental damage from drilling and convinced that greenhouse gases released from burning fossil fuels are warming the Earth, causing extreme weather, drought, wildfires and ultimately starvation, homelessness and disease for millions around the globe.
He's convinced of things that just aren't happening.

Maybe a couple of years in the clink will make him comes to his sense. Yet judging by the company he keeps, that's an extreme long shot.
The case has become a symbol of solidarity for environmentalists, including celebrities like Robert Redford and Daryl Hannah. Peter Yarrow of the folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, led a sing-a-long and rally outside the courthouse in the hours leading up to the hearing.

The event was organized by DeChristopher's nonprofit group, Peaceful Uprising.

Carlos Martins, a college student at the protest rally, said after the sentencing that "they gave him that sentence to deter us, but they're proving that by making civil disobedience impossible, they're making violent actions inevitable."
OK, so if they don't get their way, just threaten violence. Thanks for the heads-up, Carlos. Now the authorities know your name.

Does Carlos see the irony that he's with a group called Peaceful Uprising while he's threatening violence?

Meanwhile, leave it to convicted child molester to rally to his side.
"Throughout American history, acts of civil disobedience have led to change. Think about the Underground Railroad that helped escaped slaves to freedom, or about the courageous actions of people like Rosa Parks, who refused to stay in the back of the bus simply because of their skin color. Without this kind of defiance of unjust laws, our country would likely still be denying people of colour basic freedoms."
Rosa Parks? Huh?

Sick: Think Progress Uses Tornado Tragedy To Castigate 'Climate Pollution Deniers'

The soulless goons at Think Progress think it's cute to promote their junk science agenda on the bodies of those killed by tornadoes Wednesday night. Even though so-called global warming, climate change, or whatever they're calling it today had nothing to do with the devastating tornado outbreak in the South, these pigs decide it's a good time to promote their twisted agenda.
The Congressional delegations of these states overwhelmingly voted (HR 910 and McConnell Amendment 183) to reject the science that polluting the climate is dangerous:

ALABAMA: All nine members of the Alabama congressional delegation voted in April to overturn the Environmental Protection Agency’s endangerment finding for greenhouse pollution.

MISSISSIPPI: Five out of six members of the Mississippi congressional delegation, including both senators, voted in April to overturn the Environmental Protection Agency’s endangerment finding for greenhouse pollution.

TENNESSEE: Nine out of 11 members of the Tennessee congressional delegation, including both senators, voted in April to overturn the Environmental Protection Agency’s endangerment finding for greenhouse pollution.

GEORGIA: 13 out of 15 members of the Georgia congressional delegation, including both senators, voted in April to overturn the Environmental Protection Agency’s endangerment finding for greenhouse pollution.

KENTUCKY: Six out of eight members of the Kentucky congressional delegation, including both senators, voted in April to overturn the Environmental Protection Agency’s endangerment finding for greenhouse pollution.

VIRGINIA: Eight out of 13 members of the Virginia congressional delegation voted in April to overturn the Environmental Protection Agency’s endangerment finding for greenhouse pollution. Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) voted to suspend greenhouse pollution rules for two years.
Meteorologists blamed the weather, not so-called climate change.
US meteorologists warned Thursday it would be a mistake to blame climate change for a seeming increase in tornadoes in the wake of deadly storms that have ripped through the US south.

"If you look at the past 60 years of data, the number of tornadoes is increasing significantly, but it's agreed upon by the tornado community that it's not a real increase," said Grady Dixon, assistant professor of meteorology and climatology at Mississippi State University.

"It's having to do with better (weather tracking) technology, more population, the fact that the population is better educated and more aware. So we're seeing them more often," Dixon said.

But he said it would be "a terrible mistake" to relate the up-tick to climate change.
But since when has the left allowed facts to get in the way of their sick agenda?
Craig Fugate, administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), also dismissed Thursday climate change as a factor in the deadly tornadoes: "Actually what we're seeing is springtime," he said.
Our fellow Americans are digging through the rubble and mourning the dead, and the thugs at Think Progress are politicizing a tragedy. These people have no shame. They're truly evil.

Shadowy Extremist Group Launches Obama Re-election Campaign

In case you don't get the subtle, underlying message here, the Republicans are extreme or something.
Former White House officials launched a new group on Friday intended to fend off conservative attacks on President Obama's reelection with unlimited campaign cash.

Former Obama deputy press secretary Bill Burton announced the long-expected formation of Priorities USA and Priorities USA Action, twin groups that will take advantage of campaign finance loopholes President Obama had previously decried.

The groups opened up shop on Friday with a website and video attacking the "extreme right," showcasing examples of some Republican presidential candidates' harsh rhetoric toward Obama, as well as the deep-pocketed conservatives that support them.

The groups in many way mirror their counterparts on the right, American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, the two GOP-boosting groups founded by Bush political guru Karl Rove and another senior Bush aide and longtime Republican figure, Ed Gillespie.

Crossroads GPS took advantage of elements of the tax code to collect unlimited donations from individuals and corporations to spend tens of millions of dollars against Democratic candidates in the 2010 election.

Priorities USA Action will take advantage of the same part of election law, opened by the Supreme Court's "Citizens United" decision, to raise and spend millions in similar, unlimited donations, to defend Obama and go on the attack against the GOP.
After decrying anonymous donors to the GOP, this extremist group will be raking in money from anonymous donors.
Mr. Obama has spoken out against such outside groups in the harshest terms, using a radio address in August to complain of their ads, “We don’t know who’s behind these ads and we don’t know who’s paying for them.”

But the White House gave its veiled, but public approval to Democrats looking to form such groups after the party took a beating in last fall’s congressional elections and the Republican groups indicated they planned to play an even bigger role in 2012 against the President.

Officials with the group said seed money has come from the Service Employees International Union and the film mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg.
CNN's Paul Begala, aka The Forehead, will be among the extremists behind this shadowy group.
"We're eager to meet Karl Rove and the Koch brothers in the public arena," said Begala. "As long as they're spending millions telling lies in their effort to destroy the middle class, we will answer them by telling the truth."

But They're Just Paying Their Fair Share, Chuckie

Sudden concern for consumers

This schmuck never met a tax hike he didn't embrace, never met a proposed tax cut he didn't demagogue and has helped oversee the largest expansion of an intrusive federal government this nation has ever seen.

So all of a sudden he's feigning outrage over some utility increase? Hey, Chuckie, in case you haven't noticed the price of everything has gone up while you and the Democrats have been in charge, so shut your piehole and deal with it.
Sen. Chuck Schumer yesterday posed four tough questions to operators of the state's private power generating plants -- as consumers and politicians battle shocking rate increases the companies are planning for this summer.

The furious political leaders want to reverse a boost of 12 to 14 percent for New York City residents authorized by the asleep-at-the-switch Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which ignored big property-tax breaks that some of the firms get.

"These power companies owe New Yorkers clear and unambiguous answers why, on top of massive tax breaks, they also need massive rate hikes that will sock energy consumers," Schumer told The Post.
As someone who's never held a job outside the public sector, Schumer clearly has no understanding how business works. These companies don't simply create energy for nothing and decide to gouge consumers. They purchase a product and in order to stay in business sell it at a higher rate in order to make a profit. If this knuckle-dragging mouth-breather ever gets a clue it'll be the first time.
"While I realize that there are legitimate costs that need to be considered when building new generation facilities in the city, I think it is unconscionable for generators to go before FERC and argue for rates that amount to winning the lottery," Schumer wrote.
Perhaps New Yorkers ought to think twice the next time this tool is on the ballot. But hey, they're the chumps who just gave him another six years.

Suckers.

Media Memo of the Day: Obama Moves to the Center, Liberals Worried

For a guy slightly to the right of Chairman Mao, his moving to the center would be a decades-long journey.

Who are they kidding with this tripe? All of a sudden the most far left president in our history is going to head fake to the center and we're supposed to believe it?
Anxiety over President Obama’s shift to the political center is threatening to alienate the White House’s liberal base.

As Obama prepares Wednesday to outline his deficit reduction strategy, liberals worry he’ll embrace Medicare and Medicaid cuts as an olive branch to Republicans in advance of larger fights over the nation’s debt.

The concerns have surfaced after the White House rankled lawmakers on the left by agreeing to a 2011 spending bill that slashes funding for a number of programs long favored by Democrats and embracing a controversial trade agreement with Colombia.

Liberal lawmakers already were irked with Obama’s decision to support upper-income tax cuts he campaigned against and to launch military operations in the Middle East without congressional approval.

Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) this week said Obama should start acting like a Democrat, while two left-wing grassroots groups warned their members could withhold funds from the president’s reelection campaign.
If they had any guts and were so concerned then they'd go out and draft someone more to their liking to run in the primaries against Obama.

Good luck with that.

Dem Congressman: Obama Should 'Act Like a Democrat'

Yes, believe it or not, there are still some people who think Obama isn't far enough to the left.
President Obama needs to start acting like a Democrat by not caving for a second time and allowing the Bush-era tax rates on the wealthy to expire, according to a founding member of the House Progressive Caucus.

Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) said he and other liberal Democrats are hoping to apply enough pressure on Obama to make him “act like a Democrat.”
Heck, at this point I'd prefer he act like Bill Clinton, who in hindsight almost seems like a rightwinger next to this current abomination. How out of touch with reality is DeFazio?
He also said the last Democratic-controlled Congress made a mistake in not pushing Obama more.

“Well in my opinion that’s what the House did wrong in the last Congress and in part why we lost is we never pushed back no matter how wrong he was or how off-base he was, we never pushed back,” he said.
Pretty soon some of these extremist Democrats will start questioning where Obama was born or will be goofing on all the golf he's playing.

Good News: Schumer Pal Bernie Madoff Wants to Teach Ethics Courses

Bernie Madoff teaching ethics would be akin to his good buddy Chuck Schumer teaching a course at charm school.
Ponzi scheme mastermind Bernard Madoff claims academia is calling him - for help with ethics.

In a prison interview published in the Financial Times, Madoff said several business schools have approached him to "work on ethics courses."

He said his sights were set on Harvard and Northwestern.

A spokesman for Harvard told the Daily News that "it seems unlikely" Madoff meant the institution had reached out to him. Northwestern didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

For now, he'll have to stick to his job at the FCI Butner commissary, which inmates call the "money management department."

Madoff, prisoner 61727-054, began serving 150 years at the federal prison on July 14, 2009, after his $65 billion swindle unraveled.

After setting "ground rules," Madoff, 72, told his interviewers that he accepted responsibility for his shocking financial crime.

But Madoff - who also revealed that he passed the time by reading Danielle Steel romances - then went on to cite pressure from forces he couldn't control and to blame investors who should have known better.

Up until the 1987 market crash, Madoff told the magazine, he was getting legitimate returns on investments.

"The long-term gains started to evaporate," he said. "But they refused to close it out - they were greedy."
So was his extremist buddy Schumer, who greedily took over $100,000 from Madoff while he was running the DSCC. It's curious how a shameless media whore like Schumer never faced a minute of scrutiny for that.

Extreme Talking Points

When Chuckie Schumer revealed he was using the DNC marching orders to call Republicans extremists, we had no idea the ends they would go to. This playbook is so old, yet apparently won't be revamped any time soon. Today we received this missive from some Democrat Congressthing. Count the number of times she uses the word extreme or extremist. It's just ridiculous.
Jammie --

Never in my lifetime have I seen Republicans in Congress so determined to deny women health care and family planning that they were willing to shut down the government just to advance their extreme social agenda.

Right now, the single most important thing we can do together is to hold them accountable.

The DCCC is just $29,281 short of their emergency Rapid Response goal of $100,000 by Midnight Tonight. Will you put us over the top? [Um, no -- ed.]

Contribute $3 or more right now so we can get hard-hitting ads up to hold Tea Party extremists in Congress accountable for their radical assault on women’s health care and reproductive freedom.

Don’t be fooled by any of their rhetoric. The real reason that the right-wing extremists in Congress orchestrated this outrageous government shutdown is to try and defund Planned Parenthood as part of their ideological assault on women’s health care.

Millions of Americans rely on Planned Parenthood for lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings, family planning visits, and basic preventive care.

Every dollar you contribute will help us expose the real agenda of the Tea Party extremists and make sure they are held accountable like never before.

But time is running out. We must raise $100,000 by Midnight Tonight.

Thank you for standing strong.

Rep. Diana DeGette
Co-Chair of the House Pro-Choice Caucus

P.S. These Tea Party extremists in Congress are so determined to deny women health care and family planning services that they shut down the government just to advance their extreme social agenda. Help us raise $29,281 more by midnight tonight to hold them accountable.
So these extremist Democrats want to force a government shutdown and they're trying to raise money off it. Who are the real extremists here?

Code Pink Skanks Inject Themselves Into Egypt Story

As Americans and other foreigners cue up to escape the chaos in Egypt, it's curious to see far left agitators Code Pink pop up in Cairo.
Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin Wednesday headed up a dozen Code Pink banner-bearing activists in Cairo's Tahrir Square -- a scene she said descended into a bloody "war zone" as "government thugs" battled pro-democracy demonstrators.

But Benjamin told us by cell phone just minutes also that while the government of Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak government has now signalled it will "go down kicking and screaming,'' pro-democracy protesters are fully determined and "ready to die here."

We caught Benjamin just after midnight Egyptian time as she retreated from the embattled square in Cairo -- in a country where Internet coverage is just returning after days of blackout. Benjamin, a longtime Bay Area progessive [sic] activist, has been in the region since Monday with Code Pink and said the lack of Internet connection has been frustrating.

But she noted it couldn't stop her and the Code Pinkers who took to the square Wednesday, parading a large banner in both Engligh and Arabic, reading: "The World Says It's Time For Mubarak to Go."
It's not as if they witnessed the beginnings of an uprising and decided to just head over there. No, it was more accidental. They were waylaid while on the way to see their terror pals in Gaza. Always the opportunists.
The international CODEPINK delegation had been en route to Gaza via Egypt but with the Rafah border closed they are unable to enter Gaza, and remain in Cairo. The activists will stay in Cairo until they can safely make their way to Gaza, where they intend to continue their delegation for peace.
For interested media, she leaves a number she can be reached at. After all, it's not about a struggle for democracy, it's all about face time for cloying media whore Medea Benjamin.

In the meantime, a couple of stooges who traveled with Code Pink wound up being rescued and helped out of Egypt by some evil oil company executives. Leaving them there would have been a more potent lesson.

Liberals Trying To Force the Palin's Into Witness Protection

I came across this video, which I will not embed due to the fact that I don't think it deserves to be spread, which was a compilation of death wishes posted on Twitter against not only Sarah Palin, but her family as well. I know linking to it isn't much different from posting it, but the fewer places it is visible the less chance that unhinged people like Lougher can stumble across it. Remember the same people expressing these vile thoughts are the same ones who decry the rhetoric heard on talk radio. I wonder which gets more attention, an AM talk radio show or a posting on widely used internet service?

I would think that the Palin's could pursue some legal process against these people. I would start first by getting a list of people using whatever legal route is required and then contacting the law enforcement for the area in which these people live pushing to press charges for communicating a threat. I would make a very public showing of doing exactly that, and then any law enforcement agency that refused to cooperate I would then shame publicly. The real simple question for law enforcement is do you want to be the next sheriff Dupnik who chooses to ignore death threats against your citizens? If that did not result in legal proceedings the next step would be to confront these people at home, at work, or anywhere else with video camera in tow and get them on tape responding to my question of here I am, do you want to shoot me?

You shine a very public light on them and not allow them to hide behind screen names and they will soon crawl back under the rock they came out from, but at the same time make a very public showing of naming and shaming them.

But that is just me. The fact is all of the Palin's are going to have to take extra security measures because of the vitriol, which is exactly what the left wants. They tried to bankrupt them with frivolous lawsuits and having failed that they are now trying to force them into what basically amounts to a witness protection program. Anything to get Sarah off the national stage, and it really is getting to a point where I now fear for her children, especially in light of some high profile folks, Kathy Gifford for example, who have declared that the kids are no longer off limits. In fact in some of these 'tweets' reference is made to the children. I don't know how Todd handles it without going off. He is a better man then me is all I can say. Political considerations be damned. You threaten my spouse and my family and you had better be prepared to defend yourself. The first rule of gun safety, which was beat into my head at a young age, was never point a weapon at anything you don't intend to shoot. Using this sort of language is the same as pointing a loaded weapon at somebody and goes beyond any sort of rhetorical flourish.

The left is making it easy for me to vote for Sarah for president, if for no other reason then to get her the Secret Service protection she needs to protect herself from these self identified nuts. The other point they don't seem to get is she may have faded long ago if it wasn't for the lefts obsession with her.

'Journalists and Pundits Should Not Manufacture a Blood Libel That Serves Only to Incite the Very Hatred and Violence They Purport to Condemn'

I disagree with Sarah Palin on this one. These people are no longer journalists. They're Democrat Party operatives and propagandists disguised as journalists. If they were real journalists they'd be investigating Sheriff Dupnik Nifong.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) on Wednesday accused the media of "blood libel" by looking to assign blame for the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

Palin offered a pointed defense of herself and other political leaders who used sometimes heated rhetoric on the 2010 campaign trail — rhetoric some Democrats say created an environment that fueled the assassination attempt against Giffords.

"After this shocking tragedy, I listened at first puzzled, then with concern, and now with sadness, to the irresponsible statements from people attempting to apportion blame for this terrible event," Palin said in a lengthy statement and accompanying video on her Facebook page.

Palin lashed out at the media, one of her traditional targets, saying they fueled the notion that rhetoric played a role in the Arizona attack.

"But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn," she wrote. "That is reprehensible."
Now that the primary target of the media's wrath has spoken out, they won't retreat. They'll just reload and double down on their incendiary rhetoric, whose primary purpose is to destroy Palin. After two plus years of it, it apparently hasn't worked.

Hillary Blasts 'Extremists' and 'Crazy Voices That Sometimes Get on the TV'

Over in the United Arab Emirates our Secretary of State chimes in on the Arizona shootings.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday called the alleged shooter of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords an "extremist" and urged an Abu Dhabi audience not to let the incident define the United States.

Responding to a student in the United Arab Emirates, who asked her at a town hall meeting about American animosity toward the Arab world for the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Clinton said people should work to marginalize "extremists" in all societies.

"We have extremists in my country. A wonderful, incredibly brave young woman Congress member, Congresswoman Gifford[s], was just shot by an extremist in our country," she said, according to Reuters. "We have the same kinds of problems. So rather than standing off from each other, we should work to try to prevent the extremists anywhere from being able to commit violence."
I guess calling him a leftwing extremist won't be happening. Then she begins picking up on the current liberal mantra.
Clinton said extremists do not represent the U.S. or Arab nations.

"The extremists and their voices, the crazy voices that sometimes get on the TV, that's not who we are, that's not who you are, and what we have to do is get through that and make it clear that that doesn't represent either American or Arab ideas or opinions," she said.
I'll assume she's talking about far-left extremists Keith Olbermann and Ed Schultz.

Of course you know she's not and is just taking a thinly veiled swipe at Fox, which was already blame by New Jersey Democrat Bill Pascrell Saturday.

I guess they haven't gotten the memo about dialing down the rhetoric. But rest assured this is part of a coordinated effort and it's already well underway.

Obama Ushers in Era of Compromise and Cooperation by Resubmitting Extremist Judicial Nominations

Of course when the current occupant of the White House calls for compromise it means Republicans shut up and go along with him. This isn't a promising first step, to say the least.
President Barack Obama on Wednesday resubmitted a batch of federal judicial nominations that didn't clear the Senate last year, including four that provoked strong objections from some Republican lawmakers.

Obama sent 42 names to the Senate. They include 35 nominees for federal district courts and seven for the appellate courts.

The most controversial of the four is Goodwin Liu, a dean at the University of California, Berkeley, law school. Liu was renominated for a seat on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. He also is seen as a potential Supreme Court pick by a Democratic president.

Republicans have criticized Liu for negative comments about then-Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, now a justice on the Supreme Court.

The others contentious nominees are Edward Chen, Louis B. Butler Jr. and John J. McConnell Jr., all nominated to become U.S. District Court judges.

Republicans now control six more seats in the rearranged Senate, making it less likely that lawmakers will approve the most controversial of Obama's picks this time around.

In fact, Sen. Orrin Hatch, a former chairman and still a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, pledged immediately to vigorously oppose Obama's "most extreme judiciary nominees." Hatch, R-Utah, said their "activist approach would control rather than follow the Constitution."

Republicans criticized Liu's nomination from the start.

At the dean's Senate confirmation hearing, Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., noted Liu's criticism of Alito after President George W. Bush nominated him to the Supreme Court.

Liu said at the time that Alito's vision of America is one "where police may shoot and kill an unarmed boy.where federal agents may point guns at ordinary citizens during a raid, even after no sign of resistance, where the FBI may install a camera where you sleep.where a black man may be sentenced to death by an all-white jury for killing a white man absent. analysis showing discrimination."

Kyl called the comments vicious, and emotionally and racially charged."

Liu later said he used "unnecessarily colorful language" and that he had the highest regard for Alito's career. Liu said his remarks followed a 14-page analysis of Alito's rulings. Alito had been a federal appellate court judge before he was elevated to the high court.

'That’s Real Trouble for Democrats'

Despite 18 months of the media calling tea partiers frothing rabble and angry extremists, a new poll shows precisely the opposite. More people perceive the Democratic Party to be dominated by the fringe. Of course anyone with functioning synapses has recognized this for the past few decades.
Likely voters in battleground districts see extremists as having a more dominant influence over the Democratic Party than the GOP.

This result comes from The Hill 2010 Midterm Election Poll, which found that 44 percent of likely voters say the Democratic Party is more dominated by its extreme elements; whereas 37 percent say it’s the Republican Party that is more dominated by extremists.

The revelations in a survey of 10 toss-up congressional districts across the country point to problems for Democrats, who are trying to motivate a disillusioned base and appeal to independents moving to the GOP ahead of the Nov. 2 election.

The polling firm Penn, Schoen and Berland conducted the survey, contacting 4,047 likely voters by phone between Oct. 2 and Oct. 7. The margin of error for this sample is 1.5 percent.

More than one in every five Democrats (22 percent) in The Hill’s survey said their party was more dominated than the GOP by extreme views. The equivalent figure among Republicans is 11 percent.
This is a Democrat polling firm, no less.
The data surprised Democratic strategists and political experts in a campaign season when much media attention has focused on the battle between the GOP establishment and Tea Party-backed candidates such as Sharron Angle in Nevada and Christine O’Donnell in Delaware.

They said it suggests problems for a Democratic party seen as too liberal.

“That’s real trouble for Democrats,” said Jim Kessler, co-founder of the Third Way, a centrist Democratic think tank.

“All the press coverage has been about how these Tea Party candidates are fringe ideologues, and there have been high-profile examples of them proving the point,” he added. “Yet, still at this moment, you have independents saying, ‘I think the Democrats are little more extreme than the Republicans.’”
In other words, clear-thinking people have tuned out the lamestream media and their mantra about how crazy tea partiers are. The think they can constantly harp on Angle and O'Donnell yet they overlook the surge nationwide from independents toward the GOP. The media won't change, they'll just lose more viewers and readers.

Meanwhile, the delusional extremist who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue says the GOP will have to accommodate him more when they take over. I'll have some of what he's smoking.
President Obama reveals in a magazine article that he is weighing what to do if Republicans win the House majority next month, and has come up with a novel approach: Make the GOP work with him.

In a seeming twist on the post-1994 midterm calculation made by President Bill Clinton -- when Republicans pummeled Democrats in the congressional election -- Obama said he thinks Republicans will have to move in his direction no matter the outcome of the Nov. 2 vote.
We have a mental patient in the White House.

Killjoy California Buzzards Want to Ban Happy Meal Toys

The end of happiness

To borrow one of the left's most cherished cliches: How mean-spirited! So under the guise of "protecting the children" they'll just create a bunch of unhappy ones.

How special.
The latest target in the battle over fast food is something you shouldn't even put in your mouth.

Convinced that Happy Meals and other food promotions aimed at children could make kids fat as well as happy, county officials in Silicon Valley are poised to outlaw the little toys that often come with high-calorie offerings.

The proposed ban is the latest in a growing string of efforts to change the types of foods aimed at youngsters and the way they are cooked and sold. Across the nation, cities, states and school boards have taken aim at excessive sugar, salt and certain types of fats.

Believed to be the first of its kind in the nation, the proposal would forbid the inclusion of a toy in any restaurant meal that has more than 485 calories, more than 600 mg of salt or high amounts of sugar or fat. In the case of McDonald's, the limits would include all of the chain's Happy Meals — even those that include apple sticks instead of French fries.

Supporters say the ban would encourage restaurants to offer more-nutritious foods to kids and would make unhealthful items less appealing. But opponents believe it amounts to government meddling in parental decisions. The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors will consider the proposal Tuesday.

Even though it's largely symbolic — the proposed ban would apply only to the dozen fast-food restaurants within the jurisdiction of the board — the proposal has caused a bit of an uproar on the Internet, where comments on YouTube and other sites say it is another example of the "nanny state" gone wild.
No kidding. What a bunch of miserable cretins.
The California Restaurant Assn. has taken out full-page newspaper advertisements against the proposed ordinance in local newspapers. One shows a little girl with her hands cuffed behind her back as she holds a stuffed animal.

Another opponent wrote in a YouTube posting, "I want to know when the pitchforks and torches and rope is going to come out.... We need to run these Frankenstein politician monsters the hell out of town!"

Leftwing Freakazoids Plan to Crash April 15 Tea Parties: 'Find a Suit at a Thrift Store or Something, Look Real Professional Like'

I guess these drooling morons think this is some kind of secret.
On April 15th thousands of right-wingers will attend rallies in cities and towns across the United States. The organizers of this nationwide day of protest call it a tea party. This tea party movement that emerged only a year ago is a coalition of conservatives, anti-Semites, fascists, libertarians, racists, constitutionalists, militia men, gun freaks, homophobes, Ron Paul supporters, Alex Jones conspiracy types and American flag wavers. If the tea party movement continues to grow in size and strength there is a big chance they will dominate this country in the near future. If the tea party movement takes over this country they will really hurt poor people by getting rid of social programs like food stamps, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, student aid, free health care, etc. The tea party movement will say these programs must be gotten rid of because hard-working taxpayers cannot afford to pay for these things especially when the economy is in a depression. There are three options we have with the tea party movement:

1. Organize counter-protests against the tea party demonstrations, same time, same place. This is probably the best option. We need to get in the streets on April 15th and show the tea party movement that there are lots of people out there who oppose their agenda.

2. Get individual tea party protesters to leave the right-wing and move to the left politically. That would involve passing out stuff like this at the tea party demonstrations: http://www.anarchist-studies.org/node/299

3. Ignore the tea party movement. This is the worst option because without anyone opposing them they could easily gain power.
Gee, nobody is opposing them? I guess the 99% of media coverage that slantsnegative has gone unnoticed in these anarchist circles.

Stepping back for a minute, I guess maybe they are reading the Frank Rich's of the world, since they're under some deluded notion that fascists, anti-semites and racists are attending tea parties. Silly people. Those types are generally on the left, but hey, if the left didn't project they'd have to come to grips with the racists, fascists and anti-semites in their ranks.

Sadly, these neanderthals are also under some weird impression that health care will be free for them. Aren't they in for a rude awakening when they grow up and aren't on mommy and daddy's coverage any longer.

Helpfully provided are a list of links to tea party groups so you can "spy" on them. Oooh, how very clandestine.

Safe to say tea partiers have long caught on to these creeps. Some of the comments are priceless.
Someone should go to one of these rallies (maybe as a prop with a copy of "atlas shrugged" obtained from the library or more likely the trash bin) and pretend to be one of these libertarian nutters using all the talking points to slam militarism. Go on about Blackwater, Haliburtin, Caterpillar and others for being the mass recipients of corporate welfare (use the words welfare and moochers as much as possible, mention no-bid and cost-plus contracts) and US militarism as a huge drain on taxes without any practical improvement in US world standing (get ready to have to explain how US foreign policy contributed to 9/11) or benefit for taxpayers. Play the part, of a randroid-propertarian as near as possible but rail against these things and you will help wedge the nutty neo-cons away from the name-thievy "libertarians" by driving at the main (or so it would seem) conflict between the ideologies.

Find a suit at a thrift store or something, look real professional like.
They're sure to blend in.

Stay Classy, Libs: Bunning Has Received Numerous Death Threats

A couple of weeks ago when far-left quack Joe Stack flew a plane into the IRS building in Austin the left was quick to call him a "teabagger terrorist" and immediately assign blame to Republicans.

Well, now that we know Senator Jim Bunning has been subjected to bomb threats and now death threats, they're curiously silent.
Meanwhile, Capitol Police are investigating numerous threats that have come into Bunning’s office over the past several days in response to his filibuster, sources familiar with the situation said.

A Bunning aide confirmed late Tuesday night that the office had received a number of complaints via phone, fax and e-mail, and that they had been forwarded on to Capitol Police for investigation. “There have been some threats. We take all threats seriously, and we’ve been reporting them to the authorities,” the aide said.

A second source familiar with the situation said Bunning had received a number of death threats.
I blame the media and the left for this unhinged anger. Anger fomented by idiots like these morons at MSNBC.

DA Who 'Exonerated' Criminal Gang From ACORN is a WFP Member

Of course the Working Families Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of ACORN, so why should anyone be surprised the Brooklyn DA is looking the other way?

Nice to see how an unidentified source claims the tapes were edited to fit an agenda, while we're to believe the DA doesn't have an agenda himself.

Meanwhile, Patterico lays waste to the leftwing myth-makers out there defending the criminals from ACORN, including this George Soros caddie and a former John Edwards staffer, among others.

Go check out the entire Patterico piece. A masterful fisking of these drooling morons.
