Bush Offers Oil Drilling Plan, Pelosi Spouts Tired Talking Points

This issue is a winner. Now Republicans and the president need to push aggressively on it. The media and Democrats will make jokes, offer old talking points and try to block it at every turn since they want you to pay more.

But the people want it, so move forward.

Stretch Pelosi needs to update the playbook.
"The president's proposal sounds like another page from the administration's energy policy that was literally written by the oil industry: give away more public resources to the very same oil companies that are sitting on 68 million acres of federal lands they've already leased," Pelosi said.
I find it difficult to believe how a Congress with an 17.5% approval rating that wants to fight terrorism in the courts and raise taxes further on consumers can possibly win in November. So you folks in the GOP, you need to start hammering them on these winning issues, every day from now until election day.

Gateway Pundit notes how truly obstructionist Democrats have been.
Democrats have blocked the development of new sources of petroleum.
Democrats have blocked drilling in ANWR.
Democrats have blocked drilling off the coast of Florida.
Democrats have blocked drilling off of the east coast.
Democrats have blocked drilling off of the west coast.
Democrats have blocked drilling off the Alaskan coast.
Democrats have blocked building oil refineries.
Democrats have blocked clean nuclear energy production.
Democrats have blocked clean coal production.
Next time you hear someone blaming Big Oil, remind them of these inconvenient truths.

Update II: Heard some radio soundbites. After a clip of Bush they played three different Democrats, all resusing to drill and help the American people. They will lose on this issue.

Drill Now! Drill Now! Drill Now!
