Surprise: 'Jobs' Bill Won't Add Any Jobs

It's amusing how Stimulus II is being called a Jobs Bill, but the dirty little secret is out: It won't add many jobs at all. So why bother? Because it'll help Obama look good, of course.
It's a bipartisan jobs bill that would hand President Barack Obama a badly needed political victory and placate Republicans with tax cuts at the same time. But it has a problem: It won't create many jobs.
So because Obama badly needs a political victory we'll spend billions to do nothing?

Did the media worry about George W. Bush ever badly needing a political victory that they endorsed a money-wasting program?
Either way, Obama and lawmakers in both parties still could claim tangible accomplishments in addressing high joblessness and the inability of Republicans and Democrats to work together to solve problems, both top issues among voters early in 2010 midterm election season.
Is there really a desire by the electorate for Republicans and Democrats to "work together" to solve problems?

No, there isn't. The greatest desire I see from voters is to stop Democrats in their tracks. Why would Republicans, totally shut out from everything the past year, even waste time giving Obama a badly needed victory? You suppose he'd be grateful to them? Of course not. He'd still do everything in his power to screw them over and would blame them (and Bush) for anything that goes wrong.
