Latest Michael Moore Screed Bombs at Box Office

When you're propaganda movie is trashing capitalism, don't be surprised when those who practice capitalism don't show up to be insulted.
Two entries tied at No. 7: Drew Barrymore's directing debut, "Whip It," and documentary filmmaker Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story" each reported about $4.9 million in ticket sales.

"Capitalism" played in almost twice as many theaters as "Whip It," which had been expected to open in the high-single-digit millions ahead of the Gervais comedy.
According to USA Today, Burger Boy's drivel played in 962 theaters and they remarkably claim it did well.
The film did well this weekend, bringing in an estimated $4.9 million on just 962 screens.
That works out to $5093 per screen. If you figure most theaters are charging $10 on average, around 500 people were seeing it per theater, or less than half a million people. Which makes you wonder: Why does the media slobber all over this guy? Sound like the porcine propagandist has had enough rejection.
"I went through eight years of fighting one of the most disastrous presidencies this country has ever seen," he says. "And you know what, folks? I'm not doing this alone anymore. If you're going to sit on the bench and just wait for my next movie to come out, or watch Obama have to fight all these crazies (alone), I've got better things to do."
Poor baby.

Update: A commenter notes an error in the USA Today story. Moore's film was actually in half the theaters as "Whip It" not the other way around. How bad must that Drew Barrymore movie be?
