Charlie Rangel's Stimulus Act

If you're a lawyer looking for work, we've got your man. How deep in ethical woes is corrupt Democrat Charles Rangel? Well, he dropped well over half a million dollars on legal fees alone in the last quarter of 2009 alone. Considering the mess he's in, Republicans would be wise to make him a poster boy for the Most Ethical Congress Ever.
Rep. Charlie Rangel's ongoing ethics probe is taking a serious toll - on his campaign war chest.

In just the last quarter of 2009, Rangel shelled out $574,348 to lawyers, according to the latest federal election filings.

Nearly 84% of Rangel's campaign total spending since Oct. 1, $686,912, went to pay for his lawyers.

Ever since Rangel ran afoul of several ethical rules last year - from unreported income to using office letterhead to raise money - he's had to drop more campaign money on five teams of attorneys than he has raised.

Rangel asked a House ethics panel to investigate his actions amid outcry from GOPers and good-government groups.

Over the year, Rangel raised about $1.3 million, but spent more than $1.5 million on lawyers out of the $2.2 million he spent in total.
Speaker Pelosi was unavailable for comment. Probably shaking off a hangover.
