Army of Fact-checkers and Layers of Editorial Oversight Missing in Action at NYT

When you can't get basic facts right in a story, don't wag your finger at those lowly bloggers out there.

This article has been revised to reflect the following correction:

An earlier version of this article incorrectly reported that Ann Richards beat George Bush in 1990. She actually beat Clayton Williams that year. The article also incorrectly left the impression that Earl Weaver, the former Baltimore Orioles manager, is dead.

That's quite an impression the readers were left with considering Earl Weaver is very much alive. Here's how the original appeared:
