'The People Who are Threatening Not to Pass the Debt Ceiling are Our Version of al Qaeda Terrorists. Really'

Way to elevate the dialogue. I've come to expect this drivel from the left, but now it's coming from former George W. Bush's former Treasury Secretary. You can disagree on principle, but calling people who've got a legitimate gripe like al Qaeda? What a douchebag.
Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill compared lawmakers trying to block a debt-ceiling increase to terrorists.

Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill compared lawmakers trying to block raising the debt ceiling to "al Qaeda terrorists.""The people who are threatening not to pass the debt ceiling are our version of al Qaeda terrorists. Really," O’Neill, Treasury secretary in the Republican administration of George W. Bush, said Wednesday in an interview with Bloomberg Television's InBusiness with Margaret Brennan.

"They're really putting our whole society at risk by threatening to round up 50 percent of the members of the Congress, who are loony, who would put our credit at risk," O’Neill said.

Just reminds me of why the Bushies were perpetual losers in domestic politics.  Preemptive capitulation.

Which makes Obama and Hoyer and all those Democrats who previously voted against increasing the debt limit...what exactly? O'Neill's terms that obviously makes them "Terrorist Masterminds" since they were the ones who gave the current legislators the idea to use this vote as a matter of politics?

Welcome to the new civility....

Actually, people who are willing to just raise the debt limit but refusing to deal with the reasons are closer to al Qaeda because it's them who are driving us into the ground.

COntrol the borders, before immigration reform, control spending before raising the debt limit.  Pretty simple theories.

It's nice to see that the fired malcontent is back.
I love it when incompetent, disgraced whiners run their mouths. It serves to remind us why they are no longer respected among capitalists, federalists, etc.
It seems rather odd that all prior failures in economic policy are really digging for some clean top soil that doesn't have their name attached to it.
O'Neil an accolyte of Robert Reich? Who knew.  /sarc

Really?  And where has he been lately?  There's a concerted effort by all enemies of this country, foreign and domestic, to destroy this nation by driving our economy into the crapper.  Start with the Obama administration and work your way backwards.
