Klansman Trying to Oust Republican in Indiana

Good luck with that. Though you have to figure Robert Byrd can't hang on forever so DC will need some fresh racist blood to fill his shoes, I guess.
An Indiana hatemonger hopes to swap the title of Grand Dragon of the Klu Klux Klan for United States congressman.

And he's relying on a write-in vote to do it.

Tom Metzger, a 71-year-old former KKK leader and founder of the White Aryan Resistance, has taken an ad out in a local paper in hopes of garnering support to oust Rep. Mark Souder, a Republican who has held the seat since 1994.

"I'd go to Washington and get into Congress and have a fistfight every day," Metzger told local news station WANE in Fort Wayne.
While it doesn't indicate what party he's affiliated with, he's run as a Democrat in the past.
In 1980, he won the Democratic Party's nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in San Diego. He later lost in the general election to the Republican incumbent.

In 1982, he received three percent of the vote during a United States Senate run in the Democratic Party Primary.
