Your Democrat Felon of the Day

Well, here is this week's entry into the Convicted Democrat Mayor's of America list.

Today's winner is the former mayor of Racine WI, Gary Becker. Mr Becker was arrested on charges of soliciting a 14-year-old online in January 2009, and various other acts targeting children.
The five felonies plus a misdemeanor - believed to be the first charges filed by the division's 10-year-old Internet Crimes Task Force against an elected official - include attempted sexual assault of a child, child enticement and possession of child pornography.
Well, the trial is over and he has plead guilty to two of the charges, which only resulted in three years in prison, out of a possible 27 he was facing.
Fifty-two-year-old Gary Becker had faced up to more than 27 years in prison at his sentencing hearing Wednesday. He pleaded guilty in December to child enticement and attempted sexual assault of a child.

Judge Stephen Simanek said he was prepared to sentence Becker to probation but was alarmed to discover Becker purchased girls' underwear two weeks ago.
The Democrats are quickly running out of mayors. So far this year there has been the mayors of Baltimore, East Chicago, IN, and now we add Racine to the list.

Recent articles point out that the position of mayor in this city is a non-partisan position, but in searching the earlier reporting on this incident it was revealed that he is indeed a passionate Democrat.
Gerald Greenfield, former chairman of the Racine County Democratic Party, said Becker succeeded in the non-partisan office of mayor because, while an ardent Democrat, he could work well with political opponents such as Republican members of the state Legislature.
There was plenty of child pornography found on different computers used by this guy and he sure seems like a real sleazebag.

I guess when Dems say it is all about the children, it doesn't mean what we think it does.
