Obama Not Welcome In South Africa

For those that don't know it the World Cup is scheduled to kick off in South Africa in June. For the rest of the world this is probably the premier athletic event, outside of the Olympics.

Well, some officials are hoping for an early departure of the United States team to avoid having Obama coming over for a visit. Security is already a big issue for the World Cup due to the host nation not only having a brewing civil war, but also because of the unrest in the African countries around it. Several countries which have had games on the African continent have been attacked and some of them have had players and coaches killed or wounded. To say tensions are high would be an understatement.
South Africa's police commissioner says he hopes the United States is knocked out of the World Cup in the first round to avoid the massive security challenge of a visit by President Barack Obama.

General Bheki Cele told parliament in Cape Town on Friday it was "50-50" whether Obama would visit Africa's first World Cup, but they had been told that if the U.S. team makes the knockout stages Obama might jet in.

Cele said: "Our famous prayer is that the Americans don't make the second round. (That) They get eliminated and they go home."
Ahhhhh, feel the love. So glad the world loves us now in this era of Obama.
