Wisconsin Union Thugs Now Threatening Businesses With Boycotts

These goons really can't handle defeat. Now it's time for threats and extortion.

Making it worse, the author of this extortion effort heads a police union.
March 10, 2011
Mr. Tom Ellis, President
Marshall & Ilsley Corporation
770 N. Water Street
Milwaukee, WI 53202
SENT VIA FASCIMILE AND REGULAR MAIL

Dear Mr. Ellis:

As you undoubtedly know, Governor Walker recently proposed a “budget adjustment bill” to eviscerate public employees’ right to collectively bargain in Wisconsin. ..

As you also know, Scott Walker did not campaign on this issue when he ran for office. If he had, we are confident that you would not be listed among his largest contributors. As such, we are contacting you now to request your support.

The undersigned groups would like your company to publicly oppose Governor Walker’s efforts to virtually eliminate collective bargaining for public employees in Wisconsin. While we appreciate that you may need some time to consider this request, we ask for your response by March 17. In the event that you do not respond to this request by that date, we will assume that you stand with Governor Walker and against the teachers, nurses, police officers, fire fighters and other dedicated public employees who serve our communities.

In the event that you cannot support this effort to save collective bargaining, please be advised that the undersigned will publicly and formally boycott the goods and services provided by your company. However, if you join us, we will do everything in our power to publicly celebrate your partnership in the fight to preserve the right of public employees to be heard at the bargaining table.

Wisconsin’s public employee unions serve to protect and promote equality and fairness in the workplace. We hope you will stand with us and publicly share that ideal.

In the event you would like to discuss this matter further, please contact the
Director of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, Jim Palmer, at 608.273.3840.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

James L. Palmer, Executive Director
Wisconsin Professional Police Association
Mahlon Mitchell,President
Professional Professional Fire Fighters
Jim Conway, President
International Association of Fire Fighters Local 311
John Matthews, Execuctive Director
Madison Teachers, Inc.
Keith Patt, Executive Director
Green Bay Education Association
Bob Richardson, President
Dane County Deputy Sheriffs Association
Dan Frei, Prersident
Madison Professional Police Officers Association
H/T.

This creep Palmer was appointed by Walker's predecessor.

Meanwhile, at union leader Obama's presser today not a single question was asked about his humiliating defeat in Wisconsin. Amazing.

Update: This jerk Palmer, who represents a police union, has had his own run-in with the law.
The leader of the state's largest police union was cited for drunken driving last week after he left his apartment to help another union employee who had crashed her car into a shed, according to police reports obtained Monday.

James L. Palmer II, executive director of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, faces one count of first offense driving while under the influence, a traffic violation akin to speeding. He issued a statement Monday saying he regrets his actions.

"I am ashamed at this deplorable exercise of poor judgment, and I accept total responsibility," he said. "I offer my sincere apology to my family, friends, members, and co-workers, and commit that this will never happen again."

According to State Patrol and Columbia County Sheriff's reports, WPPA Finance Director Jean O. Steinhauer missed a turn in southern Columbia County around 1:50 a.m. on Dec. 19. She drove across a driveway into a ditch and through a snowbank before she smashed into the shed, knocking it off its foundation.
Palmer was quite hammered.
The Wisconsin Professional Police Association's executive director has been charged with drunken driving.

Columbia County Sheriff's deputies say they found James L. Palmer II standing beside WPPA finance director Jean O. Steinhauer's car early on Dec. 19. The State Patrol says Steinhauer had rammed her car into a shed.

Palmer told a sheriff's deputy Steinhauer called him and told him she had gone off the road and he had driven out to the scene. Breath tests showed Palmer's blood alcohol content was 0.146 percent and Steinhauer's was 0.15 percent.

So this is the "democracy in action" that the fleebagger Dems were talking about. Threats from the police of 'boycotting" could be interpreted as "Don't call us, we're too busy to send protection to your business".
This is so wrong and needs to be addressed by the courts.

Please, WI unions.....keep threatening w/the boycott and come out with a list of businesses that supported Walker.

These geniuses tend to forget that these tactics could cut both ways, and such a list could be a handy resource for Walker's supporters and steer them away from businesses who have thrown their support behind the protestors and fleebagger Dems.

M&I Bank? Yeah, that's smart. I used to have a mortgage with them. Don't pay your mortgage payments, or car loans and see how far that gets you. Destroying jobs and businesses in the state will only help to ensure massive public employee layoffs. Not paying your own bills will only help to ensure your personal self-destruction. Good luck with that one!

Hey, wouldn't it be funny if all of the top union goons were gathered together at the same time and place and........................................

Isn't this extortion? Or terrorism? Making a specific demand that they say something? You know, like when Al Qaeda forces captured reporters to say they converted to Islam? This goes beyond a boycott. But what do I know, I'm not a lawyer or lobbyist like this thug.

This has to be forwarded to Vicki McKenna, Mark Behlilng, Charlie Sykes, as well as any other media people, local and national, as is possible. As soon as possible. This is criminalistic thug behavior. The people doing this are either themselves scum of the Earth, or are somehow being blackmailed. This cannot stand!

And this, ladies and gentlement, IS why we have the Second Amendment. To protect ourselves when groups of armed government officials start threatening citizens for their political views.

So now comes the extortion demands and shake downs. These union socialist facists cannot accept election results. They cheat at every single election but if the election isn't close it is usually too hard to steal. You union goons can boycott all you want: I will never purchase another product or server from any union. Screw you all.

"As you also know, Scott Walker did not campaign on this issue when he ran for office."

Really? Then why was the AFL-CIO campaigning against Walker because of just exactly these issues?

From the WI AFL-CIO blog, August 2010:
"According to Modder (President of the Kenosha Education Association), education funding is a critical issue this election season, especially in the governor’s race. “Teachers have sacrificed by accepting stagnant wages year after year in order to bargain for better health insurance. Scott Walker wants to force teachers into lesser insurance plans and negate decades of our collective bargaining efforts."

so, when my conservative father-in-law sent an email with a list of gas stations to boycott because they may or may not have been supporting terrorism, i should have ignored it completely?

if i don't agree with what a business does, i won't go there. i may not write a letter to walmart explaining why, but it's not thuggery to support your beliefs with your spending. conversely, any of you who disagree with unions can certainly avoid products made by union hands, which is probably an effective way to shut those shops down.

oh, i won't be back, so don't bother to comment

kegger, Threatening a company to MAKE them sign a petition that they may not want to sign IS thuggery. It is also called extortion. Look up the definition of the word if you do not understand what it means.

Boycotting a business because of their actual business practices is one thing. Telling them that unless they do things your way or face our wrath is another.
